In search of my body...not the one I ate!

Quick question for all of you water people out there...

As I have said before, I hate it. I am making myself do it now (due to the now-over plateau) and I have to choke it down. But it IS going down, so that is the good thing.

BUT...I find that I get my 64 ozs, in by 1-2pm. Do you think it is ok to drink it all in the early part of the day? Or is it better if it is spread out more evenly throughout the day? And since I am exercising...do I have to up it to more than 64 ozs.?

Thanks family! :grouphug:

First, I FINALLY busted through that awful plateau and lost 2 pounds! :cheer2: I am hoping that by next week I will say BUH-BYE to these damn 140s! This means 21 pounds to GOAL!

Secondly, I had a personal record on the TM this morning (just got back...still sweating! :rotfl2: But I couldn't wait to come here and check in with you guys! :grouphug: I ran for...get this...4.7 MILES! I guess I was just psyched to actually have a LOSS! Now, I never know whether or not to trust those calories burning counters that those pieces of cardio equipment have. You know the digital read-out (on TMs, the elipticals, etc.)...never sure how accurate they are. But it said that I burned 800 calories!

My third victory of the day was in clothing....two weeks ago I bought some new running and fitness gear. This one shirt that I wanted was too big in the size I had been wearing (:cool1: :cool1: ) but I was not yet small enough for the next size down. So I went ahead and bought the smaller one anyway....planning that it would fit in a few weeks. Now normally I never do this. I have been burned too many times...thinking, "it's ok that this is a little tight right now b/c I am going to lose weight..." only to end up getting rid of something that still had the tags on! But I went ahead and bought it anyway.

Well, IT FITS! I mean, it REALLY fits.

Not "almost,"
not "just a little tight right here,"
and not my personal favorite, "it looks good if I suck it in..." :lmao:

It just plain ol' fits and looks great! :yay: :yay: So even though I didn't see the scale move for those 2 weeks, I guess at least something was happening!

Ok...I gotta go shower now...I can't even stand myself! :rotfl2:

Congrats on the victories.... There is nothing better than putting on something that you didn't think would fit and finding out that it does.... I think that is almost better than seeing the scale move as far as a confidence booster.... For that you get... :cool1:  :cool1:  :dance3:

Can you believe what happened last night!!!
Spoiler, don't highlight if you don't want to read:

I loved Chris March. I hate that Romy is moving on!!! Romy's coat was uggggly.

I absolutely loved Chris... His personality is just infectous... the hair thing was a little wierd, but the effect was just beautiful... Rami's things were nice, but not to my taste....

3DK-your early water intake is fine. Great! As you exercise for longer periods, yes drink more water. Flush that system. Drink more water when it is hot, cold, cold season, before and after exertion. Good job on the weight loss!!

Thanks!!! also... GRATS!!!!! I'm soooo happy you finally broke your plateau!!! Also congrats on the shirt!!! That is such an amazing feeling! I am sooooo happy for you!!!!! :dance3: :yay: :cheer2:

Yaaaaay! My new goal is 10lbs a month. (Instead of daydreaming that the weight will melt off.:rotfl: )

It makes it much easier and more bearable to just put 8-10 lbs a month rather than looking at the overall picture...

I drink it through out the day... I find that it helps me stay full all day rather than just the morning... I drink I typically drink between 96 and 120 oz a day if not more... If I dont I find that I retain more water than usual.

I hope everyone is having a good day!!

I tend to drink mine by 4PM, usually. I exercise in the middle of the day.

I drink 64 oz for sure, and then when I get home at night, I sometimes try to drink more but I am not always good at it.

And, congrats on the exercise clothes!! What a great feeling that is.

I forgot my t-shirt today at the gym, and had to wear the tank that I was wearing under my sweater at work today. Made me feel terribly exposed, but I still did 45 min on the arc trainer and my 100 crunches on that darn dirty ball. I like the arc trainer, burned 460 calories according to it and it makes my hips, butt and thighs burn like anything so I think it might be working....

Oh, I hope they notice, too! I was telling everyone on my girls' trip, i was so proud!

I hate water. Blech. But I choke it down.

Yeah, I was definitely irritated about the shirt. Luckily the tank was just a plain black tank, but I still am self conscious about my arms and anything that is remotely close-fitting. The worst part is about 3-4 of my coworkers work out at the same gym at lunch...

I was once told something very interesting by a forum I went to... When you are thinking about how awful you think you look and how much you want to impress people, remember they are thinking the same thing... They just want to look good and impress YOU... In all reality we are all just scared of each other... LOL :lmao:

That is a good point Sarah!

I am going to an NHL game tonight (free tix and free parking pass from a message board friend from my hockey message board! yay!), so I packed lunch and dinner in my bucket in order to keep from eating greasy bad-for-you arena food. I may still have one light beer and I left the calories for it, or I will eat a snack to make up the calories when I get home.

Here is food for today:
B: Trader Joes Fiber cereal + 1/4 cup milk (100), coffee
L: SB Wrap Kit (230), grapefruit (100), salad (110)
D: SmOnes Roast Beef (190), cottage cheese (90), apple (60), SF jello (10)
Total for the day, 890. Exercise, 45 min on arc trainer. Water, 64 oz.

I have a question for you all. I post my food and such here every day, and although you may or may not read it, you all at least have an idea of the plan I am following.

I am not terribly hungry all the time or anything, but it seems like I need a LOT of sleep in order to function and that I am super-tired by about 10-11PM or so. I know I have also been under a lot of work stress and some home stress.

All that being said, do you guys think I am over-training? My muscles and body don't hurt or anything...

Good question, Kat....and I certainly don't have the answer. I am thinking the same thing about myself...I may be over-training, though I have no way of knowing. I am not in pain, but I am super tired. (In fact, I just woke up from a cat nap! :rotfl2: I was on the couch with DD, 5, as she was doing her reading homework with me and I just conked out! :confused3 ). Last night I fell asleep at my keyboard! Granted, I only sleep about 6 hours per night...so there is that. But that schedule was very doable before I started training this hard. I am eating roughly the same amount as you (give or take on any given day) and today is the only day I have REALLY felt hungry. Of course, I also had my longest run ever today...so I am just learning to read all of these signs myself.

I'm not sure either but I think if you are not in pain then its not too terrible. You work long days and what not so of course you will feel tired. Stress also adds a lot to sleepiness. Do you feel tired after you work out or kind of pumped? If you are tired then you are working out too much. Hope this helps.

Sarah

I am okay during the day but I crash HARD at night, usually like I said, around 10PM, and I used to be fine until after midnight. I have been going to bed between 11 and 12 and getting up around 8:30 and it is really hard to get out of bed (although that is really nothing new!). I zombie my way into work and wake up completely around 11AM or so with the help of coffee. I have TONS of energy during my workout and feel great right after, then have a little dip between 3 and 5, and am okay again until 10.

I am glad to hear that you are going through the same thing E. Makes me feel less like a freak.

I think maybe our bodies are just getting used to this new lifestyle. :confused3

I think like you said you are just getting used to the lifestyle... Fewer calories and burning more of the few calories is likely to do that.

Hello....McFly???? Are you on a form of Crack you would like to share??

You have been a father for 18 years and when did we feed a kid grease who has thrown up?

Chad says...I didn't think he had the flu....

I say....well is he bulemic now because he has never thrown up just out of boredom!

I spoke with Baylor....he said he did not want pancakes which was the other alternative Dad offered... :lmao:

Now I am not laughing about my son being sick....but Mr...I can handle the kids...that is funny.

What also wasn't funny was cleaning up Baylor's vommit from earlier that did not hit the toilet that Dad of the Year could not catch on might need to be wiped up...
