In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

Nancy - So I know Hartford and New Haven. So that doesn't help and then I google and there's a third airport. I want to know where in the state you are - you don't have to give specifics just where you are. For instance are you near the Long Island Sound? Probably not. But that kind of deal. How far are you from NYC?

Laughing. 'cause I said it, and you missed it. I'm about 10 miles west of Bradley.

I am so ready to get all of the crap out of my system from the holidays.

Me too!

Nancy--looking forward to hearing how today went. Hope it was fun!

Today was much better than expected. I think mostly because my family all seemed to be trying to impress Seth's girlfriend. Whatever. It worked. So glad that we're done. Next year I'm going to get my shopping done earlier. Only 358 days until Christmas. :rotfl2:

Good morning!

Fat & nasty checking in here :scared1: WOWZA. I am so happy to start my day. I need to purge my system of all the crap that I've ingested in the past few weeks.

off for my 4 miler. See you all later!

Morning from the snowy Northeast! It is a beautiful snow, though, so that is nice. In fact, I think I will split my training today. I have 6 miles planned, but I might run 3 and snowshoe 3, we'll see. Depends on if I can get Cammie to go with me. She loves snowshoeing as much as I do.

My real purge will begin on Monday as we still have tons of leftovers around plus tonight is a tradition for my immediate family (just the 5 us, I mean). Since I have done nothing but cook, clean, and entertain for 8 days, on January 2nd we have order and watch a movie! Heaven! Just crash hard. So, I'll continue with scheduled workouts, but won't really deal with food issues till Monday. And let me tell you, there are food issues to work on! Yikes!

Nancy--what is YOUR take on the new GF now that you have had more time to spend with her and get to know her? How long do you get Seth? We go back here the day after MLK day.

Ronda--ONE WEEK FROM TODAY! So excited for you!

Good morning. My back is killing me. Did a step routine and well I stepped wrong. Going to try to walk it out later

Sitting at Barnes & noble studying for my class. Yes we already have an assignment. My favorite barista is back from Smith College. Sweet girl, hope she finds a job soon but I will miss her coffee.

Morning from the snowy Northeast!

We are on the outskirts of that storm. Just a few flurries here. Definitely not snow-shoe worthy. Enjoy it!

LOVE her. Her dad came this morning to pick her up (5 1/2 hour drive one way), so we just went out for brunch together. I'm sorry to see her go quite honestly. And we made sure her dad knew that. She is a wonderful kid. She might be back just before they leave for school (they go back on the 17th, classes start the 18th)

Ugh. Be careful EE and let it rest & heal. Don't want to make it worse.

Speaking of injuries....I was at the gym this morning (did my 4 mile run:thumbsup2) and I was watching all of the "New Years Resolution People". Honestly. One couple in particular was horrifying me. This guy was trying to show his wife how to use the equipment, and I wanted to say "honey, he clearly didn't get his physique from working out. Please get guidance from one of the trainers before you hurt yourself". Alas, they had left before I was done with my run or I would have spoken up.:sad2:

So loving the cadets for that! :lmao:

Good day here, despite the snow. Got in 7 miles, which felt great at the time. Feeling it a bit now, though. No snowshoeing yet, as we are in the heart of the storm here. Tomorrow should be a better day for it.

Finally, a down day! Felt SO good. Christmas is all packed up and put back away in the eves. House is put back together. Tomorrow I will get the kids ready and organized to go back to school.

Monday, back to reality in terms of food! :scared1:

WOWZA. Is everyone in an over-indulgence-induced coma? :lmao:

Snow is just finishing here. Looks like about 15" or so. Kids are out playing in it now. Can't believe vacation is over already! WOW. That flew by.

Off for a short run (did 7 miles yesterday) and then a snowshoe trek. :cool1:

Haha on the cadets!

Glad you had a down day, E. Man, you are right about vacation flying!

I may hit my new gym today for the first time... also need to purge the fridge and pantry and go and restock with healthy stuff. Whee.

Not much going on here today. Just some cleaning and organizing and then some gym time. Way too cold to do much of anything else.

It's cold here so I imagine all you Northern types are freezing your patooties off. Brr.

I braved the scale so that I could do the Wii Fit with no surprises. It wasn't as bad as I thought it could be, but I have a loooong road ahead. Sadly, I am exactly where I started in 2007. Yes, I suck.

Why yes, we are freezing our tooties off, thanks for asking. And you don't suck!

Hi everybody, not sure if anybody still remembers me (LisaZ), but I'm checking back in. I've been doing okay the past few months, staying about the same weight wise, which is good considering all the holiday goodies lying around.

Hope you all are enjoying the beginning of this beautiful new year. Talk to you soon! :lovestruc

I have been MIA, but am catching up. Marathon Weekend is getting SO CLOSE! I did five miles yesterday and will have a couple of short runs this week. Then it's showtime on Saturday. I can do this!

The first 24 hours of this trip are pretty tightly scripted. After that the only plan is the WiSH/DIS dessert party at Epcot Sunday night.

In the meantime I am watching the forecast for here (-14 Saturday morning) and Orlando (30 Saturday morning). We have a great house sitter, but I am putting a lot of energy into house worries. It keeps me from getting frantic about running at 6:00 a.m. Saturday in freezing temps with a wind. They've dropped the rain chances, but damn this could really become miserably nasty.

At least I won't be doing it alone! I am sure the late busses will be packed. I'm assembling a lot of warm stuff I'm willing to part with. From my reading the pack is like a slow moving strip tease... lots of clothes flying over the fences as runner warm up.

As I find new things to freak on I'll post them here. The goddesses will be the final authority on flip/don't flip.

Ronda - I was thinking of you during my walk today. You must be getting so excited by now. I know I am. You are going to totally ROCK this race and I can't wait to hear all about it. Share your freak outs with us as you need to. Know that we will all be running with you in your head to get you through and sending lots of pixie dust your way.

OK - off to get back under my snuggie and stay warm... the Muppets are on Extreme Home Makeover and I just love watching those furry little guys...

freakin' ridiculous here too. The wind has been insane! Woke me up last night and it took a l-o-n-g time to go back to sleep. I felt like I was in a Wizard of Oz nightmare. This morning the weatherman said it was warmer in Caribou, Maine than it was here in Southern N.E. Tomorrow things should moderate thankfully!

I'm glad it wasn't as bad as you thought! I too braved the scale and all I could do was laugh. I've gained more weight this fall than I thought, and am starting at a number I find exceedingly horrifying.:sad2: This weekend I started with a more normal food plan, and tomorrow it's back to the journal. My jeans have spoken, and they are *not* pleased. :rolleyes1

Yes, yes you can :thumbsup2 You make a good point about the cold. The year I did the 1/2 it was quite cold by Florida standards. A couple of things I can recommend for your consideration.

First, clothing. Wear a few "outer layer" pieces that you are willing to part with. In the past, all the discarded clothing was bagged up and donated (I don't know if they still do that or not). If you typically wear shorts, pull on sweats over them and take them off just before the starting gun - carry them for a little bit until you can toss them safely. Then as you warm more sufficiently you can toss a sweatshirt/hat/gloves whatever else you have.

Second: get yourself one of those mylar car emergency blankets to wrap yourself in before the race while you are waiting around in the staging area. They cost just a couple bucks, and are actually crazy warm. You may feel like a giant baked potato :lmao: but they are so worth it.

And remember to hydrate properly on Thurs & Friday. I assume you are flying down? Don't forget that flying is, in itself, dehydrating - so make sure you account for that.

You are going to do GREAT! :cheer2:
