In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

And of course the really funny part was that while in Urgent Care, I was sitting there texting Lyz the whole time instead of fussing over my kid. Which the doc and nurse that was hilarious. I just said, "This ain't my first rodeo..."

Dawn - love the tattoo. Where did you find it?
I opened up my photobucket account and it was on the first page with all the advertisements before you sign in. I guess photobucket has compiled a page of tattoos - hopefully with owner's permission but I thought it was beautiful - personally like the hearts and the way the runk twists around. I iwll try to find the link and send it to you so you can look at a bigger vesion.

Celebrate every victory, no matter how small they may seem! Just an observation on your food, if I might. I'd suggest trying to get some protein in before lunch. Yogurt maybe.
Added that to my grocery list - will do eggs today since I have it on hand.

I had 2 servings of steamed broccoli last night and the bocca chicken on 1/2 a sandwich thin plus some Trader Joes "Everything Pretzel thins" with 2 pieces of baby swiss. Tried to look at fat vs protein and calorie to stay as close as possible to my range. Did well.

This morning at 3 am when my stupid bladder woke me up - I was down 2 pounds from yesterday! Going to tray nad have a bit bigger snack around 3 and eat at 6:30 - Carsyn has gymnastics practice till 6 so that way we can all eat together. Plus it helped me not starve at night.

Going to try and knock me out for a bit more sleep. Although at this point I need to be up in 2 hours so maybe it will make me feel worse. Going to try for the 2 classes again today.

My body feels really good though. No more sore back etc. besides muscle fatigue so I know that the stretching we do is helping a ton!

Wait. Did I miss this somehow? I don't recall this purchase. What exactly did you get?

Me too!

I have been thinking about getting one for a while, but made the plunge yesterday after talking to one of the gals at JC about it on Monday (got all that?) Basically it is this: http://www.apple.com/ipod/nike/

You put the pod in your shoe or in a pouch on the laces of your shoe if you don't have Nike's and you put the other thing onto your ipod (only the Nano's, itouch or iphones are compatible) and you are off. It tracks your time, distance and pace and will also give you vebal cues as to how far you are into your workout. You can set up custom workouts or do basic ones based on time, distance or calories burned. You can then upload the data and track it all through their website (haven't done this yet due to some computer issues which are preventing me from running itunes at the moment). Not bad considering the kit costs $29. I needed something that I could track my pace on once I left the comforts of the treadmill and this was it.

Paula - I really like knowing my pace. I'm not experienced enough yet to know my pace by feel. This morning I realized how much I am looking at my watch when the footpod batteries were dead (I use a HRM to measure distance/speed). Once I got used to it I have been outside ever since. My routes are very simple and I've measured them out with my bicycle. It's accurate enough for me and I'm picky. Do you have a school nearby that you can check the distance on? Does the Nike+ have some calibration options? Mine asks for height and makes assumptions about stride length, but you can fiddle with that, too. Now get out!

When I got my shox they offered this too me, but didn't explain what it was. I may have to look into it... Thanks for the enlightenment!!!

Good morning everyone (even though it is afternoon for some of you)

Nothing much to report. Still in shock from yesterday.

Thank you very much everyone for your thoughts and prayers. We held a prayer meeting last night for the family, it was hard though becuase so many people didn't know yet so it turned out to be a lot of telling people. I hate being the bearer of that kind of news.

Made lunch and breakfast for today and tomorrow last night. My yummy omelets and great big salad. Kept the cheese, skipped the nuts, and added some baby spinach. Not a fan of spinach, but if it's mixed in with other lettuce and things I can handle it. Put some turkey breast chunks in for some protein, so hopefully if I eat it later in the day, it will last me through school until I can get home for dinner at 10:30. I have an apple and cereal bar with me in case I get too hungry at school.

Hello All,
I am new so I hope it is ok that I post:flower3:
My name is Gabrielle and I live in Pennsylvania. In August, I started working out again after being away from exercise, and having gained about 100lbs, for over 5 years. I am doing kettlebells twice weekly with a trainer and yoga at home a few other days a week. I am casually tracking my points using weight watchers but because I exercise so much I don't get too upset if I am a few points over daily.

I am turning 40 in April and really want to make some progress on my health and weight. So far I have lost 10lbs. and about 15 inches overall.

Eventually I would love to do some kind of disney marathon (something that I don't know much about but have a deep interest). I also have a dream of lossing this weight and then going to Disney to enjoy it without joint pain or worrying about exceeding the weight limit on the rides:cool1:

So that is pretty much my story. Can't wait to get to know all of you and supporting one another in achieving our goals!!!

Paula - your new gadget sounds awesome.

Where the heck is Amykab? Has she posted lately?

Hi Gabrielle and welcome!!!

Jump right in, we're a very open group who hold ourselves and each other accountable. I'm still kind of new but have found this to be a great place to find advice, accountability, and support in any area of life that I need it in.

It sounds like you have a great start on your goals!!! Be sure to keep us updated! I'd also like to get towards a marathon one day, when I feel I am healthy enough to do so!

Losing weight for Disney is also a great motivator for me, because of the rides, my stamina, the aches and pains on my body that I know my weight brings after a day in the parks, and the way I LOATHE the way I look in the pictures. Maybe that's why I've taken up photography, it's so much easier to be BEHIND the camera lol :rolleyes1

Don't want to be a downer....so if you don't want to read, I can understand.....

Oh Cathie, thats so awful. I will keep you and the family in my thoughts

Kelly - how was date night?

Date night was great thank you! Nice just to catch up with each other and spend time together without things getting in the way

Ronda - You really should get an apple corer. They rock. The veggie dip sounds great.

I wouldn't be without my apple corer! Cant eat an apple without it!

Sure enough...dislocated growth plate and she is in a splint! UGH! I feel just awful that I let her walk around all week like that!

And that is how my day went.

When I was younger my younger brother fell down and broke a bone in his wrist. He said it didn't hurt too much at the time, very minimal swelling so she put ice on it, he didn't complain about it until the end of the week - my mum took him to hospital and sure enough, broken bone.
Don't feel too bad Erika
