Back from being on campus all day to LOTS of posts!
Dawn--so sad about the sisters and their families. And listen, I am absolutely NO FAN of the insurance industry as a whole. Seriously, I think it is one of the most corrupt industries in our society. That being said, until things change it is important to work with the existing system and and make sure you have adequate coverage. For example, with the sisters...any working adults with children need to have disability insurance. Long term and short term. That way you don't lose everything because you are out of work. And an umbrella policy like Ronda said. And catastrophic medical. And so on and so on. Is it a scam? Well, for the most part, yes. But better to suck it up and pay now as opposed to being injured and poor later.
$300,000 liability on a homeowner's policy seems low??? Ours is a million, but I think that is set by the state? Not sure. We trust our agent entirely so we just get whatever coverage he says we need.
Liz--yes, homework in K. We do that here, too. My kids all had homework on the first night of school. They were bummed and I was like, "Man, even I don't do that!" They laughed.
Nancy--yes, your busy season is here! STAY AWAY from the baked goods!
Cathie--hope you had a good day in my favorite park!
Hi KAT!
Lisa--Um, no complaining about your love life. You were in NYC and didn't even ASK for my brother's phone number.
You know, the one who is the exact same age as you, has never been married, and oh yeah, works for ABC which is owned by DISNEY.
I got some good news at work this week. So, for the past year or so I have only had to go on campus on Mondays. (Remember the days of the JumboTron???) Well, I just got my schedule for next semester approved. I put in for all online and they accepted it! I am so psyched.
And really, I know I shouldn't complain about having to go there in person once a week. I do. But once you have been working online primarily, it becomes a total imposition to have to actually show up somewhere as opposed to do things on your on time. I get SUCH an attitude on Mondays. I'm like, "Really? You want me to actually be there? Don't you know who I am? I don't work that way..."
OMG, Jeff just can't believe I have the nerve to whine about it.
