In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

Thanks everyone!! The makeup lady did wonders that day!

Nancy!! You look SO much like one of the women on my hockey team. The one that threw the party on July 4th with the home brew. Great picture, I bet you are SO proud.

Lisa, no, I don't wear white. Occasionally as a top, but never, ever, EVER on bottom. Skirt, pants, shorts, whatever. White + my fat a$$ = BAD BAD BAD. Not to mention I am sure I would wind up sitting in something.

You also have to realize, I (yes, E, I know!) tanned for my wedding. Only about 4-5 sessions but enough to make me not the same color as the dress, and to help keep from getting fried at the honeymoon in St Thomas. My natural color is much closer to the dress color and I don't go out in the sun much even in the summer (darn thee, work!), so white might wash me out.

Cathie, beware of Nancy. She has been trying to use that whistle for months now.

Liz is definitely the one you want with you for shopping!

I do have a dirty secret there... I am not much of a girl on most days, but I do love wedding dresses and would love to go wedding dress shopping. Not for me, really, but I love seeing dresses on others.

Off to eat my eggplant pizza!

Just back from the track meet. It lasted SIX HOURS. OMG! What the hell?? I had no idea. 6 towns. For-freaking-ever.

Details coming, but the end result is it was fine and the kids ended up having a great time. I was worried at first because Kel didn't do well in her first race, but she bounced back and brought her relay team to a spectacular second place finish. (She ran the 4th leg and brought them from 5th up to 2nd.)

And RILEY. Holy crap! Schooled his mom, that's for sure. Ran the mile in 7:32. Never in my wildest dreams have I run even close to that fast. Even with that pace, he placed 3rd.

Ok, gotta get the runners ready for bed!

:lmao: Sorry. Have to laugh. I so share your pain. With both boys on the track team I've suffered thru my fair share of meets. MUCH prefer cross-country races. Or soccer games. Or basketball games. Heck. I'd even prefer to watch BOWLING most days

No scanning lesson for me tonight :sad2: Equipment issues apparently. Currently being "looked into". :confused3 whatev.

Anybody ready for another trip report? How about one from the MK & a birthday report?

Well, it's coming up! That is after I get a snack. A real one at that ~ frozen fiber one key lime yogurt with a crumbled graham cracker. Yummers!

Edit: Sorry, it's going to be tomorrow. Lost most of my post and too mad to retype it.

Nancy--Great picture! You look fantastic!

I had another good run today. I plan to take it outside on Saturday and see how my knee is. My A$$ hurt, but I think that was from the squats on Tuesday. Also did my push ups and some more core today.

Is it normal to feel that you should be doing a workout even though you are not supposed to be doing one? I normally am at the gym on Thursday's night and it is just plain strange that I am sitting on my big ole butt doing nothing tonight... yeah - freakshow - I know.

Nancy - great picture from graduation. That is one proud momma and one happy graduate.

Amy - yeah on the running. Here's hoping the run outside goes well.

Erika - yikes on the length of the track meet. How do you keep kids busy for that long? Yeah on the kids doing so well!

Dawn - have fun on the trip. Hope the program is all that you are hoping it will be.

Amiee - yeah for working normal hours...

Cathie - you don't want Nancy hounding you with her whistle. Trust me on this, so get tracking... remember, a set back is just that - A set back. you can get right back on track.

Liz - have a great trip. Hope Em's play is awesome...

Kat - I am with you on the running from the sun thing. I'll take the pale skin any day.

I am off to catch up on my magazine reading. I have a stack of fitness and fashion magazines waiting for me. Whoo hoo....

I'll check in later...

I hate when that happens. So frustrating!

YAY! :woohoo: Hope the IT stays pain free!

And speaking of core....Erika? What say you? :confused3

Forget the flashlight....she needs a search light :lmao:

big ol' butt :lmao: but in a GOOD way.

<sheesh> you make it sound like a BAD thing

Honestly though - right now I'm all talk/no action on the tracking thing. Hoping that some of the renewed WW motivation here on the thread will rub off on me again!

Night all -
Nancy - great picture! Made me get teary for ya!

Thanks for the support on camp to you all - I hope it does go well.

Anyway - Baylor had soccer game tonight - won 5-0 and so they are in districts. Carsyn won her game Monday night - they bi-pass districts and go right to state.

Talked to Jodi tonight - She says hi!

She is at her all time high after losing 60 plus pounds last year since August - abstaining from carbs. I know she won't care if I share that her numbers are now 300 plus a titch. We laughed and laughed so hard because she was at the doc and when she weighed in - started to cry a bit and proclaimed she only ate a banana for breakfast.:lmao: Only someone overweight would try to write off gaining 70 pounds since March on a banana. For those who have been there - sometimes it feels really good to laugh at yourself with a friend who gets it ya know?

She said she wasn't telling Lyle because he had told her if she ever weighed 300 #- he would divorce her. I said that she just won the golden ticket and not to slap Willy Wonka himself for such a gift!:rotfl2:

Anyway - I am hoping now that she has healed a bit from foot surgery - she can hit the Y with me and we can both do some overdue accontability changing!

UGH! Cammie just woke up screaming in pain. Top of her foot. The only thing I can think of is metatarsal stress fracture??? No way to get a charlie horse or other cramp in the top of the foot. And she did run her hardest ever today.

I cannot take another kid to the ER this year. I swear, Child Services is going to show up at my house.

The comment was very funny. Sorry for Cammie though.

Good reading here tonight.

Lisa, dialing up my youtube right now.

I had one of those as a teen. Hurts like heck. You have to wrap it and not run on it. For weeks!

I watched the Posh/Beckham interview. OMG, she's got a sense of humor! She's funny! She laughs at herself! Who knew? She's such a snob here.

Can't believe I"m doing this, but I'm still relatively young so it's not too embarassing :rotfl:

Here is me my senior year....and 80 pounds ago.
Incidentally this looks like a wedding dress too but it was actually a prom dress from my junior prom and I loved it so we did pictures in it.

OMG Erika. :lmao:

But  to Cammie.

Yeah! Catch you in the morning.

Yes, she's funny, sharp and cute when she smiles. A little known fact about Ms. Beckham.

It does look like a wedding dress Cathie. As for the 80 pounds - trust me - and Paula says this all the time - small increments do add up. Think one 10 at a time.

Hey did you answer Erika about the so-called fiance?

Night all. :lovestruc

Mornin' everyone!

Erika - how's Cammie's foot? And while you may joke about child welfare, I have a friend who is a hospital nurse with 4 *very* active boys. Actually got investigated once. Not fun.

Cathie - thanks for sharing the picture!

LisaV - how on earth did you miss the Beyonce thang? (boyfriend/finace??)

Liz- have fun at the Theatre this morning :goodvibes AND a great trip!

Paula - weather looks fabulous for tomorrow. :dance3:Are you ready?

Dawn - congrats to B & C on their soccer victories.

Chinese food last night was soooooo good. But OMG am I bloated today. I'm taking Seth to get 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed today. Whee....but first, a nice bike ride :thumbsup2

Hi all,

E - sending hugs to Cammie. Hope her foot heals soon. My sister has broken each arm twice while growing up so my parents can relate to the anxiety about child services showing up.

Nancy - hope all goes well with Seth's wisdom teeth removals... and your bike ride...

Cathie - beautiful dress. I can't even begin to think where my junior prom pictures are (yes, it has been that long ago and no Lyz - I am not going to go hunt down the pics so get that idea out of your head...;)). I had this huge emerald green and ivory lace hoop skirt thing (what was I thinking) that I nicknamed the green monster... :rotfl:

Yup - tomorrow is race day. I am getting excited about it. Starting to question how much carbo loading I really need to do tonight since it is only ten miles and I have done that in the course of a normal week. Feeling a bit like a slug since I haven't worked out since Wednesday and am worried about gaining weight for the third straight week :confused3. I'm sure it is all just nerves talking and all will be fine. I guess the moral of the story here is to eat until I am full tonight and not to gorge myself.

The weather report looks good. The rain is not expected until about 5:00PM and by then I'll be home, cleaned up with my bike safely tucked away unitl its next ride on Monday and hopefully, I'll be heading out to see the new Transformers movie with my sister. My parents and my sister are coming out for it and I am giving my sister my camera to take pictures for me.

OK - off to get some work done now. Have a great day everyone and I'll catch up with you all later.

I would not worry about nutrution for that distance. It will be an hour (likely less). I WOULD worry about hydration. Have we goaded you into getting a Camelbak yet? I love those things!

Good luck on the race. The anticipation and preparation is the hard part. It will be a breeze.

Erika - good vibes to Cammie's foot. Just the foot. Focused on the foot. Bummer. Maybe the ER can give you a punch/discount card. I tried to get on from the vet. No dice.

We are going to the lake this weekend to see my folks (around here "the Lake" is Lake of the Ozarks). Fishing and some leisurely boat rides. Sue's brother, SIL and nephew came in from Denver last night. DNephew is playing in a soccer tournament. Her other brother and family came over to greet them, too. We had a very full house until 11:30. I turned into a pumpkin.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Ronda

I did!!! It's a few pages back, but definitely worth reading, mostly so you'll understand why he's now referred to as "beyonce" from here on out :lmao::rotfl::lmao:
