In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

Hi Amiee & Steph!!!

WORD!!!

Oh I am so hot. I want a pool so bad. So bad. So bad. Poor Maddi, I dropped Molli off at the city pool with friends today, but Mad can't go, cause I'm too vain. So we took a hot walk instead.

You know that I boycott Wal-Mart, but I am giving you a pass to go and get one of those backyard pools! The big ones, with a pump and everything. Our friends have one and they swear by it. Only like $200 and they are on their 3rd season with it, so if it dies, they don't care. Gets taken down in the fall. And you live out in the country, so I say go for it. :thumbsup2

You know, E, I have actually thought of getting one of those. Our HOA expressly forbids above ground pools, but one of those easy set ones, we could hide down behind our retainer wall in the back and it would take one NOSY nbor to say anything about it.

What I really want, though, is a nice inground pool with a big concrete deck and umbrella and a lounge chair...

They are 21 and 22.

Elysha has been guessed as young as 12. :rotfl:

Lisa! Gaw-gous neice! Great pictures. Love em. You look awesome also!!! Everyone was so smiley - looked like a very happy day. The sunglasses, classic.

EriKa!!! I am a pool snob. We actually did have one of those pools, when Molli was about 5. I'm holding out for the real deal. I've decided to get a side job, just to save money for a pool.

Lyz! :lmao: sorry. I can't resist doing some creative editing to your post!

Wedding stories!

Dutch Reform or Reformed or Reformist. I have no friggin' idea but you get the picture.

So Pastor - I guess that's the word ;) - speech/sermon/damnation (well that last one isn't fair - he didn't -though he could have my cramps came during part of his sermon)- whatever for at least what seemed like an hour with the kids sitting down with the congregation.

Best line! Best! Listened.

If a man divorces his wife (and you know it could be for so many reasons - abusive wife/cheating wife/bored/not happy/no sex/he's a cheater etc. etc. just entertaining myself here folks:dance3:) and remarries - he is committing adultery. He is.

So I'm not one for making scenes but I had a physical reaction for this one since I have poor divorced relatives sitting in the pews. I did a kind of spitting sound. Came from nowhere. :rolleyes1 I'm not kidding. Involuntary reaction to BS. Really.

Apparently this same man/Pastor cornered my sister at Elysha's house or church a while back and told my sister that Elysha needed to learn how to be less _________ for marriage. I don't know the word but you get the picture. Less "aggressive". I really don't know the word. My sister told him Elysha is fine, thanks.

Gosh some heads of churches - some (Erika:lovestruc)- are egotistical to make days all about them. One of Jean's brothers died a couple of years back and the Pastor - I swear spent a good hour explaining how we were going to he!! because we weren't doing this or that. While we are greiving. Lord help us. :lovestruc

Anyway, this was something. But it is their church. :hippie:

This is Jean and I playing afterwards - excuse us.

I have more pics and stories but I must share the computer. I must. :rolleyes1

So later.

It was a lovely wedding so yes everyone was smiley Lyz. :lovestruc I'm just a smiley girl who needs to learn how to smile and not look like I have no eyes. :lmao:

THAT is an adorable picture!

Sermon - Jebus, I'm Catholic and even we don't do that at weddings! It's all love and choose to love and all that stuff.

BTW - you know we went to a new parish bc Emily is going to school there. So I was sad to leave my parish, where I have been since 1984, and Nick since we got married - TEN years ago. Almost. ;) And here's why:

One day we are sitting in church and my pastor gets up to preach and starts talking about divorce. How you have no right to judge anyone else, and you have no idea what goes on in a marriage unless you're in it, and you need to treat divorce with respect and compassion. And if you don't openly share your problems in marriage, and listen to others, you're not doing anything to help marriages in trouble. And Nick and I turn to each other, like, huh? One of us says "I'm not sure this is the party line, but I sure love him for saying it all". So the longest sermon my pastor has ever given was all about being understanding and supporting those who go through divorce. I never found out what prompted it, but that's why I loved that church. They walked the talk of love.

Core is done! Thanks everyone! I would not have done it without everyone knowing that I was supposed to! :thumbsup2

Lyz--oooh, job! Interesting! What are you thinking might be good? Retail? Something from home? Phone sex operator? Hmmm....this could be fun!

And I am a pool snob as well, but I figured that since you live way out there away from town, that you might not care. :rotfl2::lmao:

Wow, crazy church message for a wedding. Talking about divorce and adultery on your wedding day! Sheesh!

And FYI--it was just that pastor. Dutch Reformed is my religion (though here in Maine we are Congregational since there are no RCA churches here) and it is not a "fire and brimstone" religion at all. Totally mainstream, white bread protestant. Communion only on the first Sunday of the month...and with grape juice.

We are still churchless and it is difficult for me. I haven't been without a home church in 17 years.
