Lyz - yeah on Mol's grades.

Amy - have a great time in NC. Safe travels

Amiee - sorry you had to work so late tonight

Dawn - how is the walking going?

Kat - hi!!!! I am going to PM you some technical questions about buying a cell phone off of e-bay tomorrow. I am amish like Nancy when it comes to this stuff so I need some schooling...

I went to see Up tonight. What a great movie. I loved, loved, loved it. Go see it and enjoy!

I am off to bed, I have an early session at the gym tomorrow and need some sleep. Yikes, that means I have to deal with the super hyper, first thing in the morning Jesse. Maybe I'll just sleep in...

Have a great night everyone!!!!

Glad to hear you enjoyed up. It looks adorable! Have fun with our favorite trainer, lol.

Sure thing, Paula. Email me or call me (as long as it's after noon or so) and we can chat about it. :goodvibes

Hey everyone!

Just a quick flyby - Im at work till 4.30pm, then its Girls Night Out :cool1:
I was in bed yesterday at 7.30pm with a banging headache, but fingers crossed its gone now!

Hope everyone is well :flower3:

Hey all sorry to be away so long - i'll likely have to claim thread bankruptcy. We had a wonderful vacation only to return to HELL when we got back. Three people left work while I was away - on top of the NYSDI imposing higher taxes and surcharges on health insurance so all of my 400 clients (i'm a benefit admin for employers that outsource) are freaking out because their rates are jumping. I haven't had a day off since i got back, with the exception of memorial day. Summer classes started two weeks ago - twice a week 6-9:15 pm - i'm about a zombie by the time i'm done. I did get all A's though for spring semester!!! :dance3:

Needless to say - i've done nothing but work and sleep and eat for the last few weeks. POSITIVE however - we are supposed to CLOSE on Friday! Woo hoo for having a house! Negative of that? I have absolutely ZERO packing started.... :headache:

I haven't been to the gym since before vacation - i know i know! I told myself since i actually have this weekend off, i will get a bunch of packing /homework etc done and on June 1 back to the routine -we'll see

I hope to catch up on some of what i've missed - but it's a pretty significant amount!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Lyz ~ I'm not the slightest bit excited about our trip that starts two weeks from today. Ok, Ok, 1 week, 6 days and 16 hours from right now.

Not that you're counting or anything....;)

Hi! J made it home, finally, and all is well.

I'm sure he's glad to be home too. :goodvibes

So - it's 9:00 and I don't know what's what for today. :confused3 I'm assuming that today is just not going to work for my "quick road trip to Maine". It FINALLY stopped raining here and it is beautiful out. I wanted to go for a ride this morning, but am hesitant to leave just in case I get that call and need to hit the road. bah.

I am amish like Nancy when it comes to this stuff so I need some schooling

:lmao: Want to hear something hysterical? I actually gave someone computer-related advice. ME :rotfl2: OMG there is honestly someone out there who is less tech-savy than me :scared1: Wowza do I feel sorry for her :lmao:

really though - it was just one of those things that she'd never had to do before, so it was all new to her. All she needed was a simple explanation - which is probably all I'd ever need. But I live in a house full of techno geeks who cannot speak "average joe". They just get frustrated when I don't understand their foreign language and they do things FOR me instead of helping me learn to do it myself. You know - the whole "give a man a fish....'

Kelly - glad to hear your head feels better! Hope it stays that way. :upsidedow

Stacey! Hi! Sorry work is so craptastic. But :woohoo: on the house! So exciting for you. You'd better get packin' now.

Hi! Great night last night--we are all glad to have Jeff home. He has spent most of today sleeping and fighting jet lag while I did the baseball circuit. Both of the girls played really well! So happy for them. I have some pics which I will try to post soon...

Hi everyone...

Had a great little adventure with my sister today. After my workout (and the necessary cleaning up that follows), we took off for Newburgh to check out a sculpture garden there. It was pretty awesome. We did a bunch of walking all over the 500 acre grounds so I definitely burned some calories. I am working on getting the pictures downloaded and will post some tonight or tomorrow.

Stacey - sorry to hear that life has been so crazy. Good luck with the closing and don't forget to take some time for you and breathe.

Have a great night everyone,
Paula

Hammered!

Since Amy is in NC, I thought SOMEONE had to do a drunken post, right? :rotfl2:

Hope you are having a great time, Aim!

Nancy--maybe Tuesday?

Everyone else...miss you!

I'll be scarce tomorrow (today was baseball all day, tomorrow is soccer), but back to normal on Monday. Whatever normal is...

Paula--you know I grew up in New Paltz, right? And I was a fitness trainer in Newburgh. Hate the city, love the gardens!

I do remember that. We pretty much covered the entire garden on foot (including the hills). Lots of good exercise there.

Have a drink for me tonight...

Hammered!

WORD! Me too :dance3:

Nancy--maybe Tuesday?

Maybe. I have no freakin' idea at the moment  While I was sorry that my road trip didn't happen today, I was happy to have the day to get stuff done.

What a day. It was sunny. Gorgeous. Cleaned the barn :crazy2: totally a "functional strength" workout. My hands are killing me. Blisters! :headache: Worked in the yard. Drinking tonight

Oh. And did I mention that I have freakin' poison ivy between my fingers on my right hand? :sad1: sucks big time.

Tomorrow I'm at a fundraising event for a good portion of the day with my 4H kids...should be fun.

LisaV - thinking of you! Hope you are having an awesome trip!!!!

Hey everybody. I'm back from a long absence. I think my last post was about losing our cat, Renny. The vet hospital called this evening to tell me the cremains are in. I still miss him a lot. He would come up on the bed and sleep at my knees and would always come to see me after the alarm went off in the morning. Still hard.

Life has given me many distractions though. We took a road trip with DGFs nieces (17 and 19). From Kansas City to Destin, FL. We went to Mobile for a couple days to visit DGFs brother and SIL. It was long - nine days - and we are still tired (got home yesterday).

I am in the home stretch of preparations for our neighborhood block party. Moonwalk, hot dogs, all the usual stuff. The party is June 13 and I'm currently begging attendance prizes from local businesses. I've been pretty successful so far.

We have been continuing to run. We used treadmills, beach paths and guest privileges at the Mobile Y to stay on track. I ran the neighborhood this morning. We have a hilly 5K next Saturday!!!

We began with horrible weather.

More later,

As promised, here is a quick summary of the sculpture garden trip...

We get there with no problems and realize that this place is ginormous. The map says it is over 500 acres. We formulate our plan, and take off on foot to do the main loop. Along the way, we encounter things like this:

then we see this big red thing in the distance and head over to check it out. At least I am color coordinated... :rotfl:

We then set course for the big field and find the biggest set of mouse ears I have ever seen

DSCN1355.jpg

We then hiked it to the end of the field to check out Mya Lin's new installation of this really cool rolling hill piece called Storm Fields. This picture doesn't really do it justice, but you can get a sense at how big this place is.

One arty type picture. I love the shadows in this one...

I am off to bed...
Have a great night everyone...

PS - welcome back Ronda. it is good to see you back...

Just popping in between soccer events.

Funny story...I dropped Cam off at her soccer team and she had an hour worth of just drills, etc. Too short for me to go all the way home and come back. So I decided beforehand that I would go for a run while she was at soccer.

So I am running and all is good. I was coming up on the Bush estate when a black Navigator pulls out. They stop and the back window slides down. Barbara wanted to ask me how about my dad! I was all sweaty and out of breath and trying to have a conversation with her. Oy. I can't believe she recognized me. I am willing to bet it was one of her Secret Service guys since I know all of them really well. He must have pointed me out to her.

Lots of sports stories to tell, for those that may want to hear. I have some pics and will try to get them uploaded later.

Ronda--welcome back and love the pics! Sounds like a good trip overall. (Though I can't believe you drove all the way to FL and didn't go to WDW!)

Paula--OMG, skinny! Seriously, in this picture, more than any other you have posted, I can see the loss. WOW WOW WOW. Must have more pics, k?

Erika - look at you gettng stopped by a celebrity... bring on the sports stories. We ar interested.

No bike ride for me as the weather can't decide it it wants to rain or not... grr... I think I am going to head for the gym to at least get my miles in. ThenI get to read up on the regs for building in the Adirondack Park. Don't you all wish you were me.... :rotfl2:

Enjoy the rest of the day,
Paula

Ronda - welcome back! Were you in FL during the epic rains?

Paula - great pictures! Looks like a great place to spend some time walking.

Erika - Barbara? Wowza. I'd prolly get tongue tied and sputter and say something really stupid.

I got on the scale this morning. I think I may need an intervention :scared: This "stress" eating has got.to.stop. (she says as she wipes the potato chip crumbs from her face ). Really. I'm eating stuff I never eat. In quantites that could choke a horse. The only thing that is saving me at the moment from blowing up like Violet Beauregarde is my exercise. Thankfully I love to work out.

You and me both, Nancy.

Maybe it's time for another challenge? What do you all think? Maybe from now till the 4th?

Thoughts?

A quick pop in before heading to see Up with the kids!

Ronda ~ glad you enjoyed your trip.

Paula ~ loving the gardens!

Nancy ~ poison ivy between your fingers. Oy!

E ~ so cool! I think Barbara is one classy lady!

Did a ton of trip shopping today (almost finished!).
