The teen-age years scare the bejeebers out of me, I tell ya.

I will have 3 in high school at the same time.
LisaZ--love that she is a catcher! Please post a pic when you can. Kel is all of 6 (and the size of a 4 year old), so seeing her act like a serious catcher was a riot.
Paula/Dawn--yes, tea, word. I live on tea sometimes. I drink like 40-60 ounces/day (not for health benefits or anything, just because I love it). I drink only decaf green tea. And sometimes I use Splenda or Equal.
Paula is spot-on here, so listen to her.
Here's the thing, we all know that artificial sweeteners are not good, right? I mean, diet and weight loss aside, this is a chemical. (My dad calls stuff like this "food by DuPont"

) But I use artificial sweeteners from time to time. I drink Crystl Light, for example. And I eat fat free yogurt, which contains it as well.
Sure, the best thing is probably to eliminate it entirely. But my diet is very good overall. Healthy, vegetarian, tons of fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains and all of that. So I don't sweat the sweetener. It use it in moderation and I think that is fine.
And even if you don't eat that well, my take is that artificial sweetener may well be the lesser of two evils when compared with certain sugars. Take soda for instance. If your choice is a regular coke or a diet coke, OMG the diet Coke is by far the better option, sweetener and all.
Moderation. Think smart and you will eat smart. Start doing crazy diets and eating plans, and that's what you'll get as well. The best weight loss tool you have at your disposal is your brain.
