In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate... Vol. 6: Goddesses just want to have fun

And how 'bout the "vote for the next contestant"? I voted for Erinn. For 2 reasons. One - because her name is Erinn and I'd love to hear Jillian screaming profanities at her in the gym - would just make me feel so much better about my own training sessions ;) and, mostly because she broke up with her boyfriend because she hated her body so much that she didn't want him to touch her or look at her. :sad1: God. That struck a nerve for me.

Awww - I missed that conversation. I didn't vote. I was working on Roman Numeral homework and watching at the same time. By the by, I'm now an expert at Roman Numerals, so if ya'll need something... Just putting that out there.

Oh. well that explains it all. NOT. I know not of what you speak.

Do you not watch Oprah woman! Ezekial bread is some kinda of organic, whole grain, healthy food bread. I'm sure Liz and EriKa eat it. They are the granola on the thread.

So, WW tonight. I am going to man up and go, even though its not been the greatest week of exercise!

Good luck tonight Kel. Whether the results are good or bad, the fact that you are going is a win in itself. :thumbsup2

nope. I probably see about 15 minutes of Oprah annually. Just no time for daytime tv

Back to my calls....

I totally agree. I was shocked when she weighed in at 117. Too thin. Not enough muscle - just thin and frail looking. Personally, I thought that Tara looked much better than Helen - much healther and fit.
She did look but all I could hear is the complaining of Carsyn that she has a horse face. (long head) That when she was heavier you did not realize the size of the front of her mellon.

Carsyn said Mike was a hottie. I think he wanted to trip Helen when he saw her. Carsyn wanted to trip her too cause she was invisioning how her new boyfriend Mike and her would spoil her rotten with his $250,000! :lmao:

I have about a bazillion phone calls to make today. It's so beautiful out - I really want to get some yard stuff done too. We'll see - hopefully I can squeeze it all in.
I have not seen the sun for more than 5 days I swear since spring began. I live in Forks!

BTW...all you twilight fans...Did you hear of the lady who found a script in the dumpster for the second movie? She returned it to the studio. Someone is in hot water because they are not supposed to leave that stuff around.

She found a second script for another movie also being worked on. As a thank you for not ruining their movies, the studio is inviting her and he posse to the premires.

Here is a link.

That might be one of the funniest things I have read - work mates now think I am a mentalist for laughing out loud :rotfl2:
I will have to see if I can find a picture. Maybe I can scan it.
So, WW tonight. I am going to man up and go, even though its not been the greatest week of exercise!
Proud of you!
Have a good day everyone :flower3:

Nancy - I'm only guessing here...

Bible bread would be Ezekial bread. Cause frankly who can spell Ezekial bread without looking it up.
Bad guess Batman! Ezekiel is a whole line of products actually. I too am a granola eater...just the round one that overcompensates for it with cake and fudge!:rotfl2:

Here is the website for all things Ezekiel.
http://www.foodforlife.com/

Bible bread is in a box and thin wafer like crackers
2 crackers per serving - about 6x3" I am guessing per cracker.

The 5 whole grain one I have is
90 calories
1.5 g fat
80 sodium
19.5 carb
3 g fiber
2.5 protein

And Dave - yeah. I don't think he ever wanted to be there. Just hasn't *clicked* for him yet. kwim? But he did lose like 45 pounds so at least he's headed in the right direction.
More than what I have lost in the last 6 months is what I figured. Poor Dan though. He just will always be a bit odd looking with no shoulders.
And how 'bout the "vote for the next contestant"? I voted for Erinn. For 2 reasons. That struck a nerve for me.

Now I voted for the other one. Amanda I think. I liked the fact she did not say "I can't loose weight." She did not seem to be quite so boo hoohey and whiney to me and the prom dress ripped my guts out. They both were beautiful women who deserved it though.

I was with you about the whole touching part though of Erin. Made me sad.

Speaking of sad...
Treyner is contemplating heading to Europe to play soccer and forgoing college if the chance arises. He would go this summer to England for sure if he pursues this and tryout for some teams and then make a decession. The fact I am not eating everything in sight is a sign of some success because my nerves are raw.

Dawn - very proud of you for not eating everything in sight.
It would be a huge opportunity if it came along for Treynor to play in England. The leagues over here are very high standard and competitive, and the Premier League is the richest and best league in the world. He would benefit massively from playing over here! :thumbsup2

So, WW - I lost 3lbs! :faint: I didn't do a huge amount of exercise, but I ate well and drank what felt like 10 times my body weight in water. Who knew that drinking water was actually good for you!

Kelly - I am so happy for you... :cool1:

You posted your results before I could say don't get too down on yourself. You never know what your body is going to do because even if you have a slightly off week you may still lose.

Dawn - I know nothing about soccer and I know even less about providing guidance to a student athlete on what to do for his future. I do know the importance of an education and I would hate to see Treynor miss out on getting his education. After all, his mind is what is going to sustain him for his lifetime. That's just me. Congrats for not eating everything in sight. That kind of stress would send me over the edge and right to the bread aisle.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Nancy - are you still on the phone making calls? I'm sure someone is trying to reach you, but can't get through. :rotfl:

:woohoo: Yay for Kelly!

:lmao: amazing what a bit of H2O can do, isn't it? Everyone is so busy looking for the miracle pill or that "no-fail diet plan" that we tend to overlook the one little thing that can make such a big difference

Ditto. While I would never want to discourage someone from persuing their dream, the reality is that so very, very few athletes actually can earn a living at their game. Whatever he decides, make sure he's going into it with eyes wide open, and Plan B firmly in place.

took a break to do some work in my gardens. Very theraputic. Nothing quite like yanking the undesirables out by the roots :rotfl2:

:wave2: Hi Liz! Nice to see you :flower3:

Kelly - Thanks fo rthe info. I will let ya know whatever I find out and get some advice from our local resident! Great job on the loss! :worship:

Paula - I am with you on the school. I would hope he would put money away for school or work it into a contract. And I have avoided the bread isle. Instead went to the freezer and had a burrito but I did count it in.

Nancy - I am exactly thinking what you are. Go for whatever you want as long as it is in pursuit of an income but then have plan B and C and probably D!

HEY EVERYONE!

I know I have been totally MIA on the thread for a week or so, but I am back now. We got back from a long weekend trip to NC last night! It was great. FIL was surprised ( it was his 70th, and he had no idea we were making the trip up there) and the cabin that DH and I stayed at was awesome.

One pic from the weekend..

A great pic of the 3 of us aside from Delena's hand in her mouth. Still teething.

Kelly-WTG on the loss!:thumbsup2 It is amazing how much water can play into weight loss.

Ronda-SO SO sorry to hear about your cat.

Off to finish catching up!

Hi Guys. I've had alot of drama going on and didn't really want to say to much about it this week. All work related, ugh.

So, going to try my best to catch up:

Ronda ~ I am so sorry for your loss.

Liz ~ I understand how you feel helpless. I can't imagine some of the things that Jodi and Greg have running through their minds.

Dawn ~ A journal is a great idea. Love it. Your food selections are getting better. With your insulin resistance, you need to cut your carbs alot more. It is hard for a few days (about 10 for me), but your cravings will lessen with time. Promise. One of my favorite snacks is a boca bowl ~ egg beaters, boca burger crumbled up and a tiny bit of cheese on top. I nuke the eggs for about 1 min (use your rock n serve, lol) and the boca for abt 1.5mins.

Gotta finish after the kids go to sleep. Worked a 12 hour shift yesterday, so didn't get to see the kids awake last night. Be back in about an hour.

Rice Krispie treats :rotfl2:

Is there no end to my talents? :rolleyes1

Nancy - you tease you... First you are drinking without us and then you make rice krispie treats. You are evil!

Amy - welcome back! You have been missed. Now get reading and catch up already.

Amiee - Sorry to hear about the work crap. Hopefully, things are getting better. Have fun with the kids.

Well, I did double duty tonight. I went to the driving range to hit a bucket of balls (my swing has straightened out a bit, but now I am hitting behind the ball :sad2: the quest for the perfect swing never ends) and then to the gym for some cardio. I must have had bad karma tonight because there was only one upright bike left and I hate that one because it is a bit wonky. I broke a nail trying to get the foot strap on and then could only get one on as the bike had two different pedals, one that worked for a strap and one didn't. I muddled my way through 30 minutes, but I couldn't do much more than that. It was just an off night at the gym I guess. Oh well, 30 minutes of a crappy workout is better than none right?

Off to do my chores for the night and then to settle in with a magazine before bed. Have a great night everyone!

:teeth: I do what I can

Does Jesse know that you golf? Has he done any exercises with you that will (hopefully) help your game? :confused3

Oh that really sucks. Good for you for sticking with it though.

Amy - love the picture. Oy. Mine are still on the camera from San Antonio. :scared: Gotta get on that...

Amiee - the rain that is in your neck of the woods is headed our way late tomorrow. Curious - do you get many tornados where you are? :scared:

I've been battling a bit of a congestion/sinus *thing* for the last couple weeks. Started with allergies, but I think it's really trying to take over  I'm going to try to get some sleep here - early morning with Erin and that girl has no mercy :headache: Have a great night everyone.

And tomorrow - a new day, filled with endless possibilites :cheer2:

Paula ~ good job on the double duty! Swinging a golf club has to be a good upper arm/shoulder work out. Just has to! And it's kinda fun to hit something, lol.

Nancy ~ rice krispie treats. What I would do for a warm one! Tornados ~ kinda. We have had quite a few in the area lately. Not many touch downs, but several funnel clouds. I live in the corner of Indiana that meets Kentucky and Illinois (the very tip of tornado alley). We get a ton of bad storms that form by St Louis and they make their way across to us while gaining strength. The last really bad one in my city was in Nov 2006 when an F5 took out a trailer park. We've had some little ones since, but not very bad (meaning on the ground for only seconds and little damage).

Amy ~ so glad you had a great time.

Lyz ~ can we get some piggy updates? Are they still getting along with the girls well? When I was a kid, we had some that were mean as rattlesnakes. The mom hated me. Our bull, Prince, on the other hand, adored me.

Kelly ~ Kudos to you!

Ohhh! Yucky! I hope you get better soon. Meds might be in order. :confused3

Nancy - Jesse knows about my golfing abilities (or lack thereof). We have done a few things to strengthen my back, especially my traps and lats. I threatened Jesse early on that if he screwed up my swing I was coming after him with my 9 iron... :lmao: Thankfully, things haven't come to that yet. Feel better Nancy and say hi to Erin for us.

Amiee - a golf swing is a total body thing, but it sure does hit the shoulders and back hard. Stay safe in those storms.

I am calling it a night. Off to bed for me.

G' Night...

Nancy, the way to my heart is PAVED with rice krispie treats. LOVE them.

EE, sorry about the storms. We had a few doozies here last week, even had a tornado touch down which is rare for us.

Sorry about the work drama. I haven't been around at night to catch up, maybe we can touch base over the weekend if you need to vent.

Amy, that's a great pic!!

I am hoping that life will calm down here this week, and I can have the energy to post more. I also need to get back on the tracking/exercising train.

Today after work was the best feeling that I have had this week... housekeeper day. Ah, relief. Nice, clean, happy house. :goodvibes

Morning all. Sorry I have been kinda MIA. I was reading if that counts...:goodvibes

Kat, housekeeper day. I love housekeeper day. Mine thought that she had fibro but recently found out that she has had Lyme all this time. She started treatment for Lyme which is very similar to chemo treatments and is down for the count for close to a month. I will have to live vicariously through your housekeeper day for awhile...:cloud9:

Amy, great pic!!

Nancy, why do you torture us so...Rice Crispie treats. I had to stop making them because, well, I ate all of them. We have a healthier Rice Crispie treat now. I call them energy bars. I posted the recipe on the recipe thread...

Paula, look at you, double duty. I laugh about all I can do now as opposed to a few years ago, amazing isn't it. And yeah, the perfect golf swing, still looking. I find it to be more core and torque, kind of like swinging a bat but with some hip thrown in. Wow that was a bad decription, maybe that explains my swing...:sad2:

Dawn, college bills. :scared::scared1: Okay, I can breathe again. Four more years, four more years. I have decided that in about 3 years, we are installing all solar panels and upgrading to solar hot water, etcetera. With that expense and the mortgage that goes with it, I think we should be in line for some serious financial aid...:lmao::lmao:

Erika, how goes the sea trip??

Liz, praying, hoping and thinking of you and your friends and, of course, Gen. Mike's cousin works in the NICU in Dallas and took us in for a visit when we were there. Heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time. I don't know how they do what they do so well. :wizard::wizard:

Everyone else, :flower3:

As for me, I channeled all warm loving thoughts and had my colonoscopy like a good little girl. First up, I had to meet with the anesthesiologist because apparently I need "special" anesthesia. Yep, monitors the whole works, oxygen, just "special" I am. Then the good news, clean and free for 3 years. :woohoo: You have no idea how good this feels to have this weight lifted. I was SOOO stressed for days and not sleeping and having bad dreams when I was sleeping. Just WOW. :headache: Now, I feel so good, free again. So thanks to everyone who was sending love my way.

Gym today and then groceries that did not magically appear in my house while I was in the hospital. Hopefully planting corn and beans in the next few days. The peas are up and going strong!!

Have a super day everyone!!

Hi guys.

Rice Krispy Treats. I will eat all of them. Like I can't even make them or buy the boxed ones. I will eat 10, in a row, no problem. Even the generic Little Debbie 100 calorie ones. Gone. It's a sickness.

Amiee - I don't have a hog update. As a matter of fact, I rarely see the hogs. Molli does an awesome job of taking care of them. She has to get up earlier before school now, but no complaining. My biggest thing is buying the feed and straw. When summer is offically here, we'll be getting them out for walks and weighing them and then things will get interesting.

My children have 10 more days of school. That is it! I'm going to DIE.

Kelly - great job on the loss!

Dawn - I understand the importance of education, but I can see trying to play right away and getting $$$$. Such big decisions.

LisaPR - :eek:colonoscopy!

Paula - yes 30 minutes on a wonky bike is better than nothing - which is what I did. Kudos to YOU!

Amy - how fun. A suprise party. I'm not sure about all the nature, hiking and sleeping in a cabin suspense, but to each his own. Any spiders, snakes or bears?
