In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

Hey guys, sorry i haven't been around, finishing up my term papers for the semester so it's been commanding the few hours of my life outside of work. Hope to be on more the next few days, will definately be on more after this coming week as they are all due 1st monday in april.

HOpe everyone is doing well... i know we are supposed to post on monday, but b/w work and class i may not be able to so E- i'm down 1 lb this week.

If i don't pop back on everyone have a great weekend.

Dawn - lost your quote. Good to hear from you. Busy you.

I think I'm going to eat nothing but carrots until I turn orange. Just for fun, you understand. :lmao:

Go for it. Pics please. :lmao:

Hmm, I am not into orange. Although, that is probably the only color change that you and I could effect, since tomatoes are right on out...

It appears, at least so far, that today may be a better day than yesterday.

I am up a lb, but not all that upset considering I had at least 2-3 days of complete badness.

Sorry I have been so MIA, this week has been very stressful. I promise to be around and comment more next week, okay? :goodvibes

Kat sweetheart - okay I know you hate the mush - oh well :lmao:- I'm calling you sweetheart - you've been on mind - here's to a good day. I assuming that Erika's day was the reason for your FB tag. But maybe life is hard with others in your life. Regardless

It was in the papers over here a few years back about a man who I think only ate carrots and tomato soup - he turned orange. I think you should try it! :rotfl2:

:scared1:

Yes, well, it's just a thought. Could be a remedy for a year round tan. But, I conceded it could be weird looking like an Oompa Loompa.

Well, sigh, I made "French Toast" for dinner last night. I shouldn't have eaten it, but it was so good I'm having a hard time feeling bad about it. :rotfl2: GOD it was good. I put cinnamon, nutmeg and clove in mine. Awesome. But, I digress. :lmao:

Are you serious? :rotfl2: Hilarious. No, tomato soup for me, though. Just can't handle it, yuck. :happytv:

Oh Roddy. Every single time you talk I think about all my yummy food. Yummy! French Toast. Yummy. Hope to God you loved every single moment or I'll kick your a$$. Don't forget I weigh 210 Roddy. That would be more than you so run. :lmao:

Hi! In the car on the way to Philly. Concert. The Gaslight Anthem.

Anyhoo. When Emily was about a year old, she preferred carrots and sweet potatoes to any other veggies. So unbeknownest to me, my parents, who watched her while I worked, only fed her those and nothing green. So naturally I fed her those, too. So she did, indeed, end up like an Oompa Loompa.

I was horrified at the time but it's funny now.

:scared1: again. Don't you love those moments where they were so stressful, as understood, at the time but so funny now. I love them.

Have fun Liz.

Erika  Miss you. :flower3: Yes, I'm sending you flowers. Don't make a stew out of them. :lmao:

Okay, here we go. We sold today at full price. Didn't even have to negotiate. We had lots of offers over the last two and a half months but my lovely RE agent told them to eff off without even bringing them to us - lowballing offers. I love that. Adore that. Simple protection. It's like having Lyz as an agent - of course without the swear words Cutie. :rotfl:

SIghing. I cried. I know irritating to some of you. But such a myriad of emotions. I loved my home. Signing tomorrow.

Listen, spooky. I'm very intutitive. Not Sylvia Browne :lmao:or anything but very. I have stories but deep ones so I'll refrain. Anyway, this morning I woke up had many showings and said to myself put the umbrella out on the terrace - someone from one of the showings today is buying it. I went out to the terrace took picture after picture and smiled, and sighed at my loss, at what I saw. I then walked around my neighbourhood and took pictures as well and thought "hmmm". And on the way to my parents in the middle of all the still to come showings my RE agent said "someone came today - adored it and is paying full price". Like they phoned right after stepping in. I actually took pictures of my terrace from the street thinking "whoever is up there - I'm tired of showings - you better buy!!!":rotfl:

I've refrained from here on the thread but my God months of showing was sending me close to the looney bin. :dance3: One day I had to go to an appointment in the middle of winter with wet hair. I forgot to bring my hair dryer from my country estate - of course only realizing after I wet my hair of course. :lmao::rotfl:

I never cleaned so much in all my life. :lmao::rolleyes1

Sighing. Loads of emotion.

Hi to all!!! :lovestruc to everyone.

Hi Stacey. Congrats on the loss. :thumbsup2

Oh, Lisa, that's great and sad news. Oh honey. I get it. Hugs.

Down at my mom and dad's. Tests results Monday or Wednesday or both. Hope!

Going to do C25K, W2 D1!

Happy Sunday!

Just popped in a breakfast casserole -

To start -
1 lb ground turkey mixed with 1/2 cup fine Italian Bread Crumbs, onion and heaps of miced garlic plus a tablespoon of SW Chipotle - mix w/ hands and let sit for 5 minutes

spray 9x13 pan
place 1/4 foccacia loaf torn into pieces on bottom (mine was parmeasean and rosemary)

spoon turkey mix over bread

whisk 7 eggs with 1/2 cup of milk & sea salt w/ coarse black pepper to taste - place over turkey and bread

Slice 1-2 tomatoes place on top

Use 1/2 jar of Pace Mexican 4 Cheese and mix with 1 container of Philadelphia Cracker Spreads (I use pepperjack and Jalapeno)
drop dollops of cheese mix on top of tomatoes

Bake at 375 till done

Then off to church - soccer game and home for game night!

Lisa V - I get the mixed emotions about your house. It is what is needed, the progression of it all but the reality still stinks. Esp., when you look back at something with so many fond memories and love.

Great day with kids yesterday! Treyner's team lost 2-3 but Treyner played 1/2 only letting 1 goal in of the 3 goals in.

It is a surreal moment having your son on a field and realising he is capable of playing with a mens pro team, holding his own but mostly - that he is an adult now and you cannot look at a field and say - those guys are so much older. They all looked the same. Not boys but men and it hit me pretty hard. Like when a kid hits high school you can tell the freshman from the seniors. In elementary the kinder kids do not look like the 5th graders.

Now. Some are taller, some are receding even in HS, but there is no way to look at most of them and know who is post college and who isn't. Whatever head in the sand planet I was living on about Treyner being a kid - is gone.

2 other moms were teary eyed as well I sat with. They kept saying they cpould not believe how old everybody looked. - 1 of their sons is playing at Columbia next year. How far is that from some of you?

I will be a mess at graduation. Nancy how you holding up?

Good Morning!

I was finally able to access my at home email and get my password updated, so I'm back to being me! My laptop is still out at the shop, but I talked my DD into bringing me hers for a couple of days.

I spent time yesterday trying to set an actual weigh loss goal and I'm not sure how to go about it. My weight watchers info says for my height 5'4" I should be in a range from 117 to 146. I was thinking about just setting it at 146 and that I could always change it in the future, but would like to check out other possiblities. Any thoughts?

Good wishes to you Liz. Good wishes.....So in my thoughts.

Thanks Liz and Dawn - thanks for getting it. Just got home from signing. And I got a spliting headache. :rotfl::lmao: I hate lawyers and I hate status certificates and such......

My agent didn't mention conditional (signing at a fax. We had left the city) but I found 48 hours for her financing so ..............

We have a month to find a place to live for now I guess. I detest all these little moves but I what am I going to do? I think we need to close, look at our finances and go from there. Not jump from here.

Sunny - difficult question. - goal weight. I'm the wrong person to even attempt to answer that question. :lmao::rotfl:

Lovely Dawn. Such a lovely moment. That's fantastic that they held their own. Glad you enjoyed yourself.

Lisa - thank you. For all of it. I'm trying to be proud. My last song on my training mix is "Proud" by Heather Smalls - that's the song for this thread. I'm listening to our songs when I go out, to keep me motivated. Your song is what starts me out, btw! :goodvibes

Selling and moving is so, so hard. I am so feeling it for you. Ugh. Happiness and sadness, all mixed in.

Sunny, it's nice to see you! Goal weight. I'd do what you suggested, start with the minimum for your height, and go from there. It's often easier to have smaller goals, anyway. I still haven't signed my commitment! I did it for the last round, before WW got the new books and trackers, but for this round, my leader has agreed to see how I feel at certain weights and evaluate. Somewhere in the 150's. I have to live with it, and I won't know until I'm there.

Dawn, do you mean Columbia University? In NYC?

Hi! I'm back! Remember me???

I know, I know, it has been days. Likely a record for me! Dealing with lots of stuff here, but everything is good right now.

Lots to respond to, but I will try to hit the highlights. I know I won't get to everyone, though.

LisaV--your place sold. I understand the good and the sadness of this. But I will focus on the good and say congratulations! And THANKS so much for you whole TR and pics. Love it all.

LisaPR--want results of the long run in the rain! I decided outside was better then TM today and slogged out 6 miles. POURING rain most of the way. I soaked through three layers.

LIZ--waiting for results. Hard to wait. Thinking of you all and wishing good things your way.

Nancy and Paula! So exciting. Can't wait for details.

Lyz--are you still sane? Or did your sanity go out the window and is now lying on the interstate? Want details from you, too!

Dawn--I make a breakfast casserole like that (sans meat, of course) but only serve it for special occasions since it is not low-cal/low-fat friendly. And even then, I make a lower fat version using egg whites and egg substitute, etc. But it sure is yummy!

Kelly--OMG, you are such a goddess for putting up with that MIL! Horrifying, her behavior.

Stavey--hang in there.

Ronda! WOW! You are up to the point of doing the full run! WOO HOO! And YES, you should be aware of every ache and pain. And I think it IS ITB that you are feeling. You are certainly running enough to experience IT flare up. Still, you are doing great! And you will definitely be ready for your race.

Roddy--yup, I had 3 orange babies! They all loved, loved, loved sweet potatoes with tofu and carrots, etc. Ate a ton of orange food and they all turned orange. It was funny.

Amy--safe travels! Post once you and D are safe at home.

Kat--hugs! Keep us posted and don't sweat the intake of food and beer. It's only a couple of days.

Family game night, so I am off for the evening. But I should be back to my usual thread-monopolizing self tomorrow! :rotfl2:

Did I mention that I ran 6 miles in the RAIN today? I am having wine tonight, for sure.

What a great day! The snow, we're in Kansas City and the weather guys had been predicting up to a foot, came later than expected and we got, eh, 4-5 inches. It was barely snow and fell after lots of rain and sleet. What we had was 5 inches of slush.

It's sunny and heading to 40 this afternoon. The trees were still holding ice and snow this morning. Truly beautiful in the sun.

Sue and I went to the Y after church. We both ran longer than we ever have in our lives. She for 20 minute and I for 28. Knock me over with a feather - when pigs fly - all kinds of far fetched figures of speech.

We chased that with pizza (Lean Cuisine - garlic and chicken, dressed up with onions, mushrooms and tomatoes). Soon the dog will get a walk.

My run was C25K W8D1. I took it VERY slow and sped up a little at the end. The funny feeling in my knee is gone, but the twinge in the left quad showed up around 25 minutes in. I think it was the biking. The snow cover will keep me from that for a few more days. I will drop a gear and see if it comes back.

The next section is from another site. If you know anyone recenty laid off, make sure they know about this.

Didn't see this elsewhere on here, and felt it was an important item to pass on ...

A federal law went into effect on 2/26/09 that requires employers to pay 65% of COBRA health insurance premiums for most workers terminated between 9/1/08 and 12/31/09. All the former employee has to do is accept the offer of COBRA coverage, request the employer pay the 65% of the premiums, and must themselves pay the 35% remainder of the premiums.

You must have been covered by health insurance at the time you were terminated. If you also had domestic partner coverage, or were insuring dependent children, note that COBRA must be offered for him/her as well, and the same 65% subsidy is available.

Normally, you have to exercise your right to be covered under COBRA within 60 days of termination of your job. However, if you originally declined COBRA coverage, because of the cost, the legislation gives you a "safe harbor" of 60 days from the date of enactment (which would bring you to 4/27/09) to tell your employer you changed your mind, you DO want COBRA coverage, and you want them to pay 65% of the premiums!

FYI, the employer gets reimbursed for the 65% from the IRS, taking a credit for it on his payroll tax forms. But YOU can't get the money directly from the IRS; it must be through your former employer.

The subsidy phases out for those with Adjusted Gross Incomes between $125-145K unmarried ($250-290K married joint).

Even if this doesn't apply to you, please pass on this info to others who may be affected. Unfortunately, the law doesn't clearly require the employer specifically inform terminated employees of the right to insist on the 65% subsidy, and it is unlikely most will mention it.

Link below is to IRS page with info on the subsidy.

Erika :rotfl2: - That's funny, my nephew (not by blood, but my best buddy's son) wouldn't eat anything but carrots and sweet potatoes as well. The kid turned orange and my buddy's wife took him to the doctor for a regular check up and the doctor said, "Feed him carrots much?". She wasn't freaked out about it at all, she knew it would happen, but the smart remark from the doctor sparked a vicious snark-a-thon. :rotfl2:

Now that I think of it, the few friends that I have are all Snarkologists. What's that say about me? :rolleyes1

Um, Liz? Question of the week for last week? Did I miss it or did it not materialize? :lmao:

I mean, it's ok, you are horrendously busy. I like questions of the week, though! Looking forward to the next one, whenever that is. No rush! ;)

E - glad your life will be back to regular tom!
Liz - yes in NYC. Not sure how far that was from you exactly. Thinking of you.
Roddy - I know a few women who are rasafarian orange all the time. They are who we call "The Juicers." :lmao: Yes they weigh 105 soaking wet and are super health concious but I think they have carried it a bit far.

Their teeth look very white though next to their skin. Saves on bleaching the choppers.:teeth:

All else :flower3:

Okay, here we go. We sold today at full price.

:hug:I'm sorry and Congrats. All wrapped in one.

Going to do C25K, W2 D1!

You go, Liz! :woohoo: Nice job on the run.

I will be a mess at graduation. Nancy how you holding up?

So far, so good. I'm going to miss that kid when he's gone. But I don't like to think about that. I'll deal with it when the time comes

I was finally able to access my at home email and get my password updated, so I'm back to being me!

:yay: Yay! Sunny is back!

My personal choice was to set my goal at the highest allowable weight. I did that for several reasons. First, it seemed less daunting and definitely was more do-able. But also, it meant that I could achieve my "life time" status sooner and attend the meetings for free. :thumbsup2 Do they still do that? :confused3 Anyway - I went on to lose more and now hover toward the lower - middle of my range.

I think that was along the lines of what Liz was suggesting as well.

Nancy and Paula! So exciting. Can't wait for details.

and pictures. ;)

Lyz--are you still sane? Or did your sanity go out the window and is now lying on the interstate? Want details from you, too!

How was it Lyz? I'm still in awe that you just road tripped to NYC on a whim!

Family game night, so I am off for the evening. But I should be back to my usual thread-monopolizing self tomorrow! :rotfl2:

Have fun w/ the games!

Did I mention that I ran 6 miles in the RAIN today? I am having wine tonight, for sure.

Me too. <shhhh don't tell anyone> :lmao:

What a great day! The snow, we're in Kansas City and the weather guys had been predicting up to a foot, came later than expected and we got, eh, 4-5 inches. It was barely snow and fell after lots of rain and sleet. What we had was 5 inches of slush.

:scared1: I am SO done with snow and cold.

Sue and I went to the Y after church. We both ran longer than we ever have in our lives. She for 20 minute and I for 28. Knock me over with a feather - when pigs fly - all kinds of far fetched figures of speech.

:woohoo: Nice job Ronda! Wowza. What a group of athletes we have going here!

Now that I think of it, the few friends that I have are all Snarkologists. What's that say about me? :rolleyes1

It says that you have some very intellegent and witty friends.

How did you get mixed up with a group like that :rolleyes1

kidding of course

Paula - hope you had a safe and uneventful drive home! :goodvibes

FYI on Dawn's breakfast casserole recipe....31 grams of fat per serving. Yee-ikes! Hope it was yum-o! :goodvibes

Hey guys!

Good to hear ya Erika. :surfweb:

Nancy - is testing Tuesday I can't remember.

Thanks for all your wishes. It is exciting. It is sad. Big steps. I'm pretty darn proud of myself to do it. To have said I have to do it no matter how much I love my home. It's been fifteen years - we would have been fifteen years this year - since I've slept in my own bed. It just hit me today. That should be interesting. :lmao: I am so getting some kind of chesterfield. :lmao:Where are you Kelly? Sofa bed.

I'm watching the Junos. Our music awards - red carpet. Russell Peters is hosting. Which should be hysterical. But Lebron is on sixty minutes. I feel the channel flippin' coming.:dance3:

I'm also cleaning like mad. My parents are home later this week.

Okay, hope everyone is having a good night.
