In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

Erika - Love the pictures, your daughter is very pretty :)

Breakfast - I can eat breakfast at any time. Whether I get up at 3am, 7am, 10am - I can eat!
My choices are normally:
Bran Flakes (or similar) with skimmed milk - lots of fibre!
Wholemeal toast with low fat spread
Crumpets with low fat spread

If its my day off and I have more time to cook I might have mushrooms on toast or tomatoes on toast!

Challenge results:

Tracking - I have tracked everyday except one
Exercise - 2 x 30 mins - pitiful effort!
In-Laws killed - Almost one . I changed my mind though - I like talking to you guys and Im pretty sure internet access is limited in prison.

Im off work for the next two days :cool1:
Tomorrow night I am going to a concert (actually its more like a gig than a big concert!) with my brother and sister-in-law. Very excited, but alcohol will be consumed!

Everyone - Hi!
Its almost bedtime for me, I am exhausted!

Hey all!:lovestruc

Back. Haven't caught up at all.

Thanks for everything. It's because of you all that I fought to not let anything infiltrate. Thank you.

Vero was magnificent. Just gorgeous. Oh boy, I actually took bathing suit photos. I feel sick to my stomach typing that. :lmao::rotfl:. Not wanting to be seen and I actually took bathing suit photos for you guys. I feel like I'm in a porno. But it's time. :lmao:Not for the porno. Lord help me. :lmao:And maybe I'll post them. :rolleyes1

Lisa, glad to see you back!

E, hammered? At 6PM on a Sunday? Isn't this family day?

I was good yesterday but not so much today. A bit stressed over tomorrow.

OMG, dinner was so good. I grilled salmon. It's been a LONG time since I used the grill outside. Marinated in a mix of ginger, soy sauce, honey, garlic and a bit of OJ. With brown rice and steamed cauliflower. Grilling season is BACK!

This week's dinner menu:
Monday - spinach, mushroom, onion quiche. I made pie crust this afternoon.
Tuesday - home made pizza on FlatOut bread. Onion, mushroom and tomato. I'm going to chop up a Boca Burger and use that, too.
Wednesday - left over quiche.
Thursday - grilled pork chops, mashed potatoes and cauliflower.
Friday - baked talapia, steamed carrots and roasted asparagus
Saturday - A skillet full of what we have come to call rice stuff... rice, tomatoes, chicken, onion, black beans topped with a little enchilada sauce - I'm lazy.

I am starting C25K week 7 tomorrow. Warm up, run, cool down. I repeated w6d3 (25 min run) Saturday. Sue is getting over her cold and reset at w5d1. She went to the Y and made it through just fine.

We stood around the front yard and plotted landscaping. Saturday afternoon was a trip to the local nursery to cross our list of wants with what they have in stock. There's more to come. There will be blisters in April!

I hope everyone had a terrific weekend. I'm going to start gathering my wits for a new work week.

Ronda

Well let's just say the bathing suit is out. It looked okay on the camera screen but not blown up. :rolleyes1:sad2: I was so ready to push through crap. Oh well.

I will post some workout clothes pics though. Thank God for that back up.

So youngins' get it done. Really. Just let's say my body isn't bouncing back at almost 42. Thin skin as well of course. It's like doesn't matter how fit I am well the skin has a different plan.

I"ve spent hours, yes hours, trying to get pics off. Here's a sneak peak. This was early morning on the day we left. We had sun, sun, sun and every single day called for 30-40% showers. So fortunate. We had maybe five minutes of drizzle one night during the week. Just south was drenched on Wed/Thurs and we got sun.

Hi Kat. Eek. Haven't read the thread. Don't know tomorrow yet. Hugs to you regardless.

Ronda

I so adore salmon Ronda. Yummy. Rainbow Trout and Salmon - yum, yum, yum.

Lisa V, welcome back. Big hug. Missed you.

Gang, thanks for posting your breakfast foods! New question tomorrow. xoxo to all of you.

Ronda, I was so thinking about you and Sue this morning! I did C25K, W1 D1. I got the lingo down and everything - aren't you proud? It was really really good.

I used my DIS thread theme songs and every song was a person, except one song which is for all of us. So inspiring. I'd really love everyone who wants one to have a song, and I'd love to send the CDs out so we can all use them to workout. Thoughts? Should I do the big reveal of songs soon?

Lots more to say...oh, things. I will be back tomorrow AM.

Night!!!

:wave2:

Hi Everyone. I'm back! Did you miss me? :confused3 Did ya Roddy :confused3 huh? Did ya :confused3

:lmao:

The play was AWESOME. We really have some incredible talent in our little school. (HS has roughly 600 students). I'm hoping to have pic's to share soon. Oh - and I may have found my true calling. "Tear-away clothing" Yep. 13 of the dresses I made had to be, umm..."removed" as part of their dance :rolleyes1 They worked like a charm.

We had the cast party at our house last night. Approx 50 kids were "dancing" (ie jumping up and down) on my deck in the freezing cold last night. :scared: Had a nice bon-fire loads of food and fun. Finally the last one left, ok was KICKED OUT :laughing:at 1:30 this morning. Going to bed at 2:00am is something I'm not accustomed to. Can't even tell you the last time I saw "closing time" ;) I am so out of practice for this late night stuff :headache:

Next up for me is my daughter's drama club production - in 3 weeks. :scared: Thankfully, most of the costumes are being pulled from the High School inventory. I *think* I'll have one outfit to make, but it's certainly no big deal in comparison!

We actually had dinner together as a family tonight. I was at school doing set-strike and costume sorting and my husband made dinner :faint: for those of you who have spouses/s.o. 's who cook this may not seem like a very big deal. But trust me. This is HUGE in my house. HUGE. And it wasn't even "open bag of frozen ravioli, pour in pot of boiling water". It was a real recipe. Shocking. Completely shocking.

And. I had a glass of wine tonight. First since Valentines day. One small glass. I enjoyed it, but didn't feel the need for any more.

My check in:

food: 30 points. A bit high. But considering I ate a piece of cake and had a glass of wine, not bad.

Water: eh. Ok.

Alcohol: 4 oz. red wine

Exercise: none. Unless you consider keeping myself upright all day to be exercise. If so, yeah I did it. Pushed thru the pain and finished like a champ

Ohh, the big reveal. I say that is your call because you took the lead on this project.

I can't wait to see pics. Very exciting that everything turned out great. Tear away clothes? You could have a nice little side business going on with that. :rolleyes1 BTW, I think you deserve the entire bottle of wine.

ok. What is up with all this healthy, workout talk? I don't even know you people!

LISAV - yaay, your home. I was wondering if you would be home today or if it was a driving day. :scared:

Liz - My "on" breakfast is hard boiled eggs. 2. Yes reveal playlist tomorrow.

Nancy - glad your weekend was great. Tear away clothing? Hmmm. That's why hubs had dinner ready.

Ok, I don't have much to add. Tomorrow I will be "on" weather I want to or not. EriKa - watch for my text.

Wait - EriKa - loved the racing bib. Sylvia. Word.

One more thing. Who bought Twilight special 2 disk dvd? The major retailer I went to (name being omitted for my security) had only the one disk. I snatched it up, but will return if the special one is worth it.

Hey girls and guy!
SO yesterday (saturday) I walked 2 miles and raked the other portion of the lawn and then guess what It SNOWED last night! NOt much just enough to cover the lawn.

I weigh in tomorrow night according to this scale at the house I have lost 3 pounds, but we will see tomorrow.

For Challenge
I walked 3 times this week that is one more than I said I needed to walk.
I tracked daily but had three days that I totally blew my points.

Nothing new here to report..... Lovin my new car!

SO I know that Liz has a play list ( can't wait for the big reveal) and Erika had one for her 13.1
Does anyone else have one that they exercise or walk run to?
If so can you post ?

AS for Breakfast I sometimes eat what ever the kids had for cereal or I may have yogurt or toast with jam. On friday mornings though Stephen and I go to breakfast we have now become REGULARS! and I have a steak and cheese omelet with toast and jam and of course coffee. This week the cook saw us walk in and put our order on the grill even before we ordered! How cool is that!

I know, eh! Looks just like the mommy. Although the mommy thinks her cute kids don't look like her. :rolleyes1

I've merely scanned a few pages. DIS is so slow I can't catch up yet but I did catch you are pretty well at goal Kelly. Outstanding. :thumbsup2

Looks exactly like Mommy!

And thankyou

Tear away clothing hmm, interesting :rolleyes1:rotfl:
Im glad everything went well - you are so BUSY! I don't know how you find the time!

Im eating VERY healthy today and doing my exercise in preparation for the concert tonight!

Morning everyone!

Challenge update, well, I don't have my journal but I know that I got in my 30 miles between bike and running. I am at -0 for pounds. I only weighed myself on Friday and then pre-LR and post-LR yesterday.

I am still reading back so forgive me for not addressing anyone except Kelly to say good luck with the concert tonight!

My LR yesterday was awful. My legs hurt, my knees hurt, my feet hurt, my stomach hurt and it was cold and miserable with serious gusty winds. I quit after 13. I just couldn't face the last 3 miles. Mike picked me up in town thankfully. Otherwise I would have walked the rest of the way. I walked a lot of the last 2 miles due to stomach cramps. It was Maine Maple Sunday and I think I ate something that my belly did not like so much later. I tried to be reasonable and really only had bites of the kids treats but I guess it was too much. I have to finish out the miles today on a short 3ish mile run. I may go further or not. It is colder today and the wind is out of the north and still pretty stiff. I am seriously having doubts about the full but I am keeping on with my training. Right now, I am pretty disappointed with myself though.

The kids are off today on a Teacher's Workshop day so my time is limited. Not to mention the fact that we are in a serious backlog at work so I have to get to my actual job.

Sending :wizard::hug: to anyone who need it. I still have a couple of pages to read but I will be back tomorrow!

I am still reading back so forgive me for not addressing anyone except Kelly to say good luck with the concert tonight!

Thanks!
Little story - im very wary about going to concerts. I went to one with my 2 brothers and their girlfriends and one of my best friends about 2 years ago and I got my drink spiked. By the barman. :guilty: It was awful, luckily my brother noticed I'd 'disappeared' and found me face down in the ladies bathroom and got me to a hospital. Turns out the barman had been slipping a little something into ladies drinks who he thought were on their own, there were 6 women in the hospital who'd been to the same concert with the same symptoms when I got there - vomiting, unable to stand, unable to speak, unfocused eyes. Not pretty.
I can't remember anything of the night at all, my brothers and friend have filled in the details.

Theres a nice story to start your morning :scared1:

LisaPR, hope you are feeling better today

OMG, Kelly! What an awful story! I'll let Liz give the concert advice, since she's a pro.

Kat--thoughts and prayers headed your way.

Nancy--total Goddess Crown for you! What an amazing week-end you had! I hope your kids realize that not all moms are like that--that you are truly incredible in what you do for and with them.

Paula--glad you made it back safely! Did you stay OP while away?

Lyz--YES! I actually DID put "WORD" on my racing bib! :rotfl2:

Amy--:lmao: :rotfl2: welcome back to the northeast! (It's in the 20s today, though it has been in the 40s for the past several days.)

Liz--Big Reveal! Big Reveal!

LisaV--waiting for TR and lots and lots of pics! The one that you already posted....*sigh* love it.

LisaPR--I have a lot to say here, though I know you may not be able to come back and read it today. But the short of it...relax. Breathe. You are a superstar. We ALL have stonkers of a run once in a while. Even the elites. You know that as well as I do. But sometimes it helps to hear it from someone else. I even have stonkers of SHORT runs once in a while. It just happens. Don't let it shake your confidence. Accept it for what it was...an off day. What are you doing for pacing on your LRs? 4/1? Can't remember. Try your 16 again next week. Everything after 16 is mental anyway. So if you can do your 16, you can do your full. There is a whole new school of thought in training for Fulls. Instead of going up to 20 and then beginning the taper, many coaches are only having runners go to 16.

As for me--I finally managed to get back to sleep last night, so I am not a complete wreck this morning. J is home for the next 3 days, and then he goes away for 3 days.

And yes, last night WAS family night and I did get hammered, but not too badly. The kids didn't know, so that is good. J made me these mocha-tinis and well, they were powerful. So they hit hard, but they also wore of quickly. So I was fine after a while.

Today, I begin anew. I have been up and down for the past 2 weeks. Ever since my tri. The week after my tri, I let myself slack for the week. It took more out of me than I thought it would. Only half-heartedly tracked, etc. As for last week? No excuse. Just wasn't ON. I let my head get out of the game. So today, with Liz and Lyz texting me, I am back on!

Ok, time for some work.
