In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

Hey everyone!

Got back from our little disney trip this afternoon. It was a good weekend. I'll probably post a couple pics later.

So, to start catching up, I will update my info.

Name, Age, and Family ~ Amy (31), married to Glenn (33) and we have a daughter, Delena aka little D who will be 2 in June. Also, 2 cats and a dog.

Weight Loss Program, History and Current Goals
~ Started to focus on losing weight post baby in Feb 08. I started running (C25K) and trying to watch what I was eating. No real specific diet plan. I've pretty much stuck to it and have lost 40 pounds. There have been some plateau's and slight gains back, but overall I am thrilled with my progress. I am most proud of my physical accomplishments in the last year. I have completed at least six 5k's, a 10K, a 13k, a 15K, and THREE half marathons!! My current goals are to lose about 25 more pounds, and run a sub 30 5K. And maybe by the end of the year a sub 60 10K.

Favorite Exercise and Healthy Snack-Love running. Love the feeling of completing long distances. 30 day shred is also growing on me. Loving the definition I am starting to see in my arms. Healthy snack would be FF dip and veggies, fresh fruit like strawberries.

Favorite IndulgenceHigh calorie drinks and purses (coach and VB) and trendy clothes for Little D.

Best Disney Pixie Dust/Magic Story
Running through cinderella's castle during the 1/2 marathon ( in a good way) and just this past weekend in the MK watching the Celebrate parade and seeing Delena totally into it. Loving seeing all the characters. She saw winnie the pooh and said "bear". :goodvibes

Name, Age, and Family ~ Lisa (41 - 42 soon!) - single.

Weight Loss Program, History and Current Goals
~ History: weight loss used to feel desperate. Like I had to. When I realized I was separate from my weight it went smoother. Weight for me has always been there. Sometimes not there actually just thought I was huge because I'm naturally big. My weight hasn't come off until now because it was a safe, little well big:rotfl, cover for me. No program. Just trying to eat consciously. Lost at least 78 pounds - can't own more because was off scale.

Favorite Exercise and Healthy Snack-Love hard workouts - intervals the most. Snack is a snack is a snack. But like frozen berries straight into my belly.

Favorite IndulgenceTrips.

Best Disney Pixie Dust/Magic Story
Well this isn't pixie dust but it was a huge moment. I felt overwhelmed, physically/emotionally, around a group of convention men at CS about five years ago. That moment, which sounds sad, pushed me to where I am today. So thankful. But best WDW moment walking into a BWV one bedroom and being totally overwhelmed with glee and thankfulness.

LisaV, this is for you. It is really hard for me to post this pic. And I will do my best not to delete it. I have a bunch of layers on here, so there is some extra padding, but you can definitely see that classic swimmers' V-back that I have. See? Told you my back was BROAD. And you all thought I was exaggerating! :scared1: I mean, look at how freaking WIDE I am. Scary! :rotfl2: And if you look at the other pic of me, in the WISH shirt after I just finished, you don't notice it from the front at all, or not nearly as much.

tribackcropped-1.jpg

First off, you are exaggerating. I mean, the way you were talking I was expecting Lou Ferrigno or something. Geez. :sad2:

Secondly, let me take you on a trip through my mind so you can see how crazy I am, as if you'd not figured it out already.

Ok, looking at this picture, this is the sequence my mind imagines:

It's completely dark, slowly the light starts to come up so everyone can see you standing like this in the picture above. As the lights are coming up, the theme from "2001: Space Odyssey" begins to play and builds as it does. Now, just as the horns and trumpets reach the peak of their crescendo, you do a 180* spin like Elvis and do your Super-Erika thing.

Huh? Huh? Good stuff, I should be a choreographer or something, right? popcorn::

Delena with DH on Goofy's barnstormer! She was at least an inch over the height requirement!!

Also, Erika and LisaPR, note DH's shirt!!

In line with DH for the barnstormer.

All of us outside of living seas. I wore my running sneakers with my shorts all weekend. I never do this. I hate wearing sneakers with shorts. it is just not right. But I did this weekend and it is AMAZING how much better my feet felt at the end of the day as opposed to when I wore flip flops all day at Disney.

Popping in.

AMY. Okay, first off, Delena looks soooo big. OMG, how did she get so big? She's a big girl now! I feel like we're watching her grow up. So sweet.

And you. You look so THIN. Do you see that? I hope so!

/
HOLY CRAP! I was thinking the exact same thing as Liz! AMY!!! You look THIN THIN. Like, always been thin. Just a normal thin girl. Like, totally thin and as though you have always been that way! WOW.

And sweet T on Glenn! :goodvibes

And now LisaV can be happy since she has her Delena fix! :rotfl2:

Roddy, you scare me! :lmao: Too funny!

Ok, ok, I hear what you and Kat and LisaV are saying. I do. But I look at that picture and I just think, "HOW can they NOT see the ginormity?!!? Like, that is the hugest, widest, broadest back ever. How do they not see that?" Seriously, that is what is in my head. And then I think, it must because they can't tell my height. Like, if I was taller, then that broad back would be normal. But I am short at 5'2".

Maybe I will get to a point where I am ok with it. And yes, my Herculean shoulders got me through the tri. So I am trying to give them their props! :rotfl2:

My next race is only 6 days away. Yes, I am racing again on Sunday. Just a 5k. But I want to PR it. We'll see. I am going to see how I feel tomorrow. I am still sore right now.

And NANCY! :lmao: Ha! Totally made me laugh when I was like, "Why do my glutes hurt?" I guess all of my pains are from the swim, since I swam SO hard. Much harder than any training swim.

Do you remember when I was SECOND out of the water in my first tri?

Oh and Nance--

Do you have a WDW trip planned? Can't remember. We will be there in May and on May 9th is the MUDDY BUDDY! You said you wanted to do it! How awesome would that be to do together?

I looked on the website and they have them all over the country...everywhere BUT New England! The closest one to use is in Richmond, VA, so too far for a quick road trip. But if you will be in Disney...:rolleyes1 I mean, surely you want to take Seth for a graduation trip, right?

Lyz/EE--I was going to do the MB with my buddy David Parfitt, but Pete isn't sending him on the cruise! Can you believe it? I thought for sure he would be on the cruise! So now I need a partner.

AMY! AMY! Don't you all think AMY should do it with me?!?!?!

Well, I have a pronounced curve in my back that makes me look like a cross between a scoliosis sufferer and Quasimoto. :scared1: So, I understand the self-consciousness. Also, the thinner I get, because of my back-hunchiness, I look more and more like a turtle without a shell. :scared1: :scared1: I go from bad to worse.

It looks like it does to you because it's you. No one else sees it.

Oh, and, did you play the song link? huh? huh? Awesome, right? :lmao:

Your new theme song. :thumbsup2

And because Lyz and LisaV will ask, here is the description of the Muddy Buddy race:

Each race features a 6-7 mile course and 5 obstacles. At the start of the race, one team member will run and one will ride the bike. At the 1st obstacle, the rider will drop the bike, complete the obstacle, and begin running. The runner will arrive, complete the obstacle, find their bike, and begin riding. Teams will continue leapfrogging each other through the entire course. At the end of the race, racers will crawl through the infamous Mud Pit crossing the finish line together!

So each of you basically has to run 3 miles, ride 3 miles, and complete obstacles along the way. Doesn't it sound like a RIOT?!?! OMG, SO much fun!

So true... Amy - you look amazing. I know the sneakers with shorts thing is bugging you, but woman have you looked at your legs recently? They are totally rockin right now. Very cool...

Delena is getting so big. Where does the time go?

Do you remember when I was SECOND out of the water in my first tri?

I remember that... it is up with with when Liz gave her parking spot to Bruce. :rotfl:

OK - report time. Weighed in at JC tonight and lost 1-1/2 pounds. Can I just say how much more I like the weeks when it is not TOM than when it is? Very happy about that. My JC consultant keeps telling me how much she is loving Jesse right now. I can't keep telling the guy how big his fan club is getting. His head will get absolutely huge. I told him about you all and he is like, bring them in when they come to town. We'll work out.

Went to the gym to do some cardio and totally rocked out on the bike. Was feeling good so I did three sets of intervals and an extra five minutes of straight spinning. Felt awesome when I was done. Now, I have to actually do some work work (yuck), but it has to be done.

Steph - sorry about the spray paint, but you have to admit, spray painting the cat is kind of funny. You have to take pictures just so you can torture the kids later in life. Yeah for heading back to WW. Way to get back on your plan.

Cathy - glad you are fitting in around here. Good luck with the healthy snacks with your sweetie. For times when I am with others and don't want to be overly healthy, I bring Pirates Booty as a snack to share. It is a cheese puff type snack that isn't fried. A 1 oz. serving (which is 1/4 of the bag) is like 140 calories and 2 grams of fat I think. Its an option.

Nancy - hope the sewing is going well. Can't wait to see the finished products.

Liz - still feeling good after your spinning class?

Stacey - how are you feeling? Better, I hope.

Lyz - how was the covert day for you? Get everything done?

Kat - hope all is going well.

Sarah - where are you? Miss you...

Sunny - how have you been?

LisaV - glad to hear that the class went well again. You have a gift for teaching, really.

LisaPR - is the snow starting to melt yet?

LisaZ - how are your aerobics classes going?

Kelly - don't get too lost in Dr. Who... we want to be able to find you again.

Roddy - you are a bad influence (which is very cool).

Dawn - ???

I am off to read some electrical and fire protection specs. I'll be back to check in later (if I am still awake)
Paula

HEHE! I do my best. :thumbsup2

Ugh, electrical and fire protection specs. I had fire inspection last week. Good thing I didn't get fined, I had the same violations as last year. :rotfl2:

Nothing major, though. Just a bent sprinkler head and need to replace the indicator on my shut off valve. Like yall care. :rotfl2:

Evening Everybody!

A quite drive by before I catch up. I just got home from work & I am exhausted! Oh, I long for the days of being able to function on 4 hours of sleep.

I hope everybody is doing well!

Yes. M. Phelps. I can swim like that. In my head.

Even in my head I swim with orange arm floaties  <sigh> I'd need swimming lessons if I ever wanted to attempt a tri. I am so not stroke proficient.

Yes, yes it does. It blows bovine reproductive organs. :sad1:

I'm not even sure what that is supposed to mean :confused3 I can guess. But that just seems wrong :confused3

   (that's for confusing me  )

The banana doesn't sing to me. Maybe it's YOU, not the banana. Prolly so.

:lmao:

What did I want to say to you. Oh hubby - another nice hubby moment. Nice.

:lovestruc Yeah, I really like that guy

Steph - the cat. The poor cat. :surfweb:

I have to admit it made me laugh. Sounds like something my boys woulda done :rolleyes1

And you. You look so THIN. Do you see that? I hope so!

Amy - that's exactly what I was thinking. OMG look at you, you svelt momma! :woohoo:

Do you remember when I was SECOND out of the water in my first tri?

Yeah. You rocked. Took 3 minutes off your swim time. THREE freakin' minutes! And then wondered why you had such a pain the bummocks, remember that?

Damn. I really want to play! You guys are funny and cooking with fire today!

Okay, back to my life. But have to say, HOMG, Paula! :cool1: Just told Nick about your loss, he is impressed too! Goddess crown!!!!!

Paula, I do feel good. And I threw together a dinner for the inlaws and they loved it and it was low points and I did it in 10 minutes - after being on the phone with Erika while in the grocery store. So I feel really good about that. The dinner and all. And I made things happy even though I was stressed. I succeeded. So I feel successful. So Good God, please let me lose this week!

xoxo to all. Be back to play tomorrow!

Final results are in--

Mom WON her age group! First place! :cool1:

I managed a top 10 finish in my age group, so that is ok. If I had nailed my run, I would have placed third, though, so it is a bittersweet end! (There are monetary prizes for top 3 in each age group.) I came in 25th overall for women (out of about 150). Next time, right? :rotfl2:

P.S. I beat every single one of the women in the 18-29 category! THAT is worth something! Totally schooled those 20-somethings!

So awesome for both you and your mom! Great job kicking those 20-somethings a@@es!:worship: :worship:

I TOTALLY want to do a Muddy Buddy. They sound like so much fun. Insane, messy fun. But sadly, I do not have a WDW trip in my near future. :headache: Although Becca seems to think that we should jet down for a weekend :rolleyes1

Amy? are you up for it? I soooo want to do it. (temper tantrum!)

OK - report time. Weighed in at JC tonight and lost 1-1/2 pounds.

:woohoo: :woohoo: Nice job!!!

Liz, Erika--Thank-you! :goodvibes  I was looking at the disney pics from this weekend and realized it was the first trip in a long long time where I didn't totally hate any pictures of myself. Somehow MIL got a pic of me in my bathing suit and I didn't even hate that. It motivates me to continue on.

Erika- AWESOME job on the tri. Just went back and read the report. :worship: :worship: Outstanding placement!!! Love the TRI shirt! are you thinking sub 30 5K for this coming weekend?? I have a 5K on april 4th and I am hoping to take about a minute off my time, so hopefully sub 33, closer to sub 32.

As long as the muddy buddy doesn't involve swimming in any of the water around WDW I would contemplate it. Too many weird amoeba's in the water. Seriously, there have been people who have died from brain amoeba's they got from swimming in FL fresh water. :scared1: : :scared1: :scared1: Are you going to spend some time at WDW on land before/after your cruise?? At a minimum I need to get my butt over there for drinks if you are going to be there.

Paula!! :cool1: :woohoo: on the weight loss. Seriously, an inspiration!!
