In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

Nancy ~ Are your kids getting tired of snow days??? Have they made it through 3 full weeks since Christmas? I can't remember.

My kids are fed up with snow days. They don't get done with school until the 25th or 26th of June now. :headache: Since the first week of December they had 2 full, uninterrupted weeks of school. TWO. bah.

Moral of the story - anesthesia + Stacey = ridiculous

Oh dear! Hope you're feeling o.k. today.

I still have my ear infection or whatever the heck it is :sad1: Im going to the doctors tomorrow and he is going to attempt to syringe my ears. Hes hoping this will stop the dizziness - which led to a fainting spell on Monday night. Just about every time I stood up I passed out. Like I need another excuse to fall over :rotfl:

Do we need to bubble-wrap you? Give you a helmet to protect your head? :rolleyes1 Seriously - I hope you get some relief soon!

And go ahead and post your food. We won't judge. :flower3:

Hi Sunny!

Good morning!

Stacey--hope you heal quickly! I had mine done just a couple of years ago. I was allowed to keep them all this time! :lmao: They only took them out for precautionary reasons, but still, no fun.

Kelly--hope you feel better as well! It is just that time of year.

Liz--have my fingers crossed for you at weigh in today. How can it not be great, right? Keep focused--skinny jeans! Summer!

Lyz--hope you have a better day today.

As for me--I am still sore (not really sore...muscle fatigued) from yesterday. I will likely only run today. I need at least one good, solid run before this tri. Then tomorrow I will do something light, and rest on Friday and Saturday.

I just need a full day at home to get sh*t done! Monday was a snow day, yesterday Riley was home b/c he had to be at the hospital all morning for his pre-surgery testing (surgery is in 2 weeks--just his ankle thing again). Today I have a meeting at school, then have to take the first grade snowshoeing. Tomorrow is Kel's doctor appointment up in Portland, so that is half a day. Argh! I just can't catch a break.

Steph?

Sarah?

Yes, I have to agree. They are absolutely beautiful to watch. I get chills when I watch a race, cry when I watch a major race (Triple Crown, Breeders Cup) ~ especially when a friend from the old days is one of the winning connections.

Every single one of my horses had amazing personalities too. We tended to lean toward the ones who were 'problem children.' Those being the ones who were sick, weren't fed right, etc. I have to say, my Ex was very very good at figuring them out and getting them back in good health. Here is the crazy thing though, I was terrified of them! I couldn't be in the stall with them if my Ex or a trusted friend wasn't next to me. Crazy! I so spoiled them though.

At one point, I wanted to get married at Keeneland in one of the sales pavillions. Beautiful! Amazing architecture. I would have loved to have traveled to more places than I did, but I still hold those trips dearly. Not that I would ever take him back, but those were our best years as far as our relationship was concerned.

Oh well, enough thinking about the past for now.

Call me anytime you want to come to Saratoga. The track is beautiful and the backstretch and Oklahoma training tracks are almost magical. Someday I'll get to some of the other big tracks, but I fully realize that I am spoiled having this gem in my backyard.

Stacey - take care and feel better soon. Crying hysterically is a normal reaction to being knocked out like that. It could be worse, my dad tends to come out of it with some minor violient tendancies. He tends to take a swing a people. Hang in there, the pain and the swelling will go down and you will be back to normal soon. In the meantime, think of how many calories you won't be eating... (yes, that was a bad joke).

Kelly - feel better and please take care of yourself during this fainting spell. You fall down enough so you don't need any extra 'help'. Good luck at WW tonight.

Don't have much to say this morning so I'll keep this short (I am in a bit of a blah mood thanks to some crap at work - nothing huge or even worriesome, but crap none the less).

Hi to everyone and remember to make good choices today.

Paula

Starting university I was a totally normal size. Looked fine. Less than now probably. Less than for sure. Close though. And my doc wrote clinically obese on my physical. I was shocked. I think it was the beginning of my this part of my life weight issues. If my best was clinically obese where the heck do you go from there?

Lisa, how old is your daughter?

First of all, some doctors are just stupid! One of my neighbors had a pediatrician say that to her daughter, at the age of 10!!! Don't they realize how they damage people? Makes me sick. :sad2:

And my daughter is 13. Kind of in between being a little girl and being a teenager, at the moment.

Hi Lisa Z! Hi Lisa V!

I'm watching BL. Does this show make anyone else hungry? Or is that just me???

My friend Kim used to watch it while she ate her ice cream.

We stopped watching it because the urge to snack was overpowering!!! :rotfl:

In my family, you get a buffer zone in which you get to celebrate your birthday. For some it is a week or you can be like my sister and stretch it for what seems like a month. The point is, you are not limited to just your actually birthday for your celebrating.

Paula, I love this idea! :cloud9:

An easy way to cure you of the fast food habit would be to move to my town  We got nuthin'. Well, that's not true. We have a teeny McDonalds - no drive thru though. However we DO have a Starbucks AND a Dunkin' Donuts.

Your town sounds better! We have absolutely everything here -- an Outback, Carrabas, Pizza Uno, McDonalds, KFC, Starbucks -- all within 2 blocks of my house. :scared1:

Sorry i've been MIA. It was a jam packed weekend, and then yesterday i had class after work. Today I got my wisdom teeth extracted.....and gushing blood and excrutiating pain have been the game of the day :guilty:

Rest up, hon. You deserve it. :lovestruc

I still have my ear infection or whatever the heck it is :sad1: Im going to the doctors tomorrow and he is going to attempt to syringe my ears. Hes hoping this will stop the dizziness - which led to a fainting spell on Monday night. Just about every time I stood up I passed out.

Take care of yourself -- fainting spells are scary. :guilty: Sending you good thoughts for a quick recovery.

No snow today, but still very chilly (9 degrees this morning, so no melting at this point). My class last night went really well -- we had a great turnout and some new people, which is always fun. This class is as good as therapy, really. I get to yell at people for a solid hour, and they like it!!!! :woohoo:

Keep chugging along everybody -- we're midway through the week now!! :hippie:

Good Morning. Kelly hope you are felling better really soon, and good luck with weigh in tonight at WW. Got to take care of you first.

Do we need to bubble-wrap you? Give you a helmet to protect your head? :rolleyes1 Seriously - I hope you get some relief soon!

NANCY, Im posting this for you. This Incident has just occured:
Accidental eating of yummy goodness - Chocolate and cream eclair - 70,000 points  Whoopsie daisy.

That will NOT help at weigh in tonight. Oh well, every one has off days - mines just been an off week.
Today it is done though. No more rubbish eating. Light exercises when I can (im thinking bummock clenches whilst im sat at my desk! :rotfl: ) No excuses now for bad eating decisions!

s'ok Kel. So what if it was a bad week. You know what to do. And we're here to help.

And like Nancy said, post your rubbish food! Or if it will help you, we can set it up so that you post your food each day (or else! HA) and that might help you stay on program. For me, I know when I am posting my food, it totally helps. I say to myself, there is NO WAY I am going to eat that because then I would have to ADMIT it. :rotfl2: Whatever works, you know?

Ok, time to get ready to run. I am nervous. I need today to be a good run day. But my hammie is slightly tender. Not too bad. Just tender. So I am not sure how to handle it. At least I will be on the TM so that will be more gentle. Then the meeting at school, then the snowshoeing (which is at the end of the day, so I just drive the kids home from school). So here it is, not even 10:30 and my day is over. *sigh*

I think (and I may regret saying this!) that I need to be TOLD if I haven't posted my food, to stop me getting laxy-daisy with it. It really does help posting what I have and it keeps me honest - plus there has been many a time when I haven't had a biscuit of gone in the Tin Of Sin because I would have had to tell you all about it! :rotfl:

So yes, If I don't post my food you can hunt me down! :rotfl2:

Wow your day sounds busy. Take care of your hammie

Hi ya pals!

Stacey - sorry you had a traumatic surgery. I found it highly amusing.

Kelly - yikes to the fainting. 70,000 points -

EriKa - busy day, sucks. (have not checked my box yet, :woohoo: )

I need to go back and copy some people, but, mmmhh, not sure it's going to happen.

LisaZ, Nancy, Steph, LisaPR - those of you with adsolent young girls. Do your daughters say things that mortify you? Mol and I are butting heads lately, which is normal, but the things she says, I am daily floored? Is it just me? (Alot of it is so self involved - my mom says welcome to my world, but I'm agast just the same.)

and another thing-

What is it about individually wrapped peices of chocolate - shaped like an egg - that get me all hot and bothered?

Don't get Nancy and I started about individually wrapped chocolate. I mean, they are so tiny that it can't possibly add up to anything, right Nance?

Hi everyone!!

Trying to get caught up here..A few comments..

LISAPR-thanks for posting the exercises. I think I am most concerned with overall toning of my thighs. I seriously hate them right now.

Erika-Thanks for posting what you did for speed stuff. I am all about speed improvement now. I am also reviewing the plans you sent me awhile back again. I am trying to decide what my plan is going to be for the next few months.

LisaV-Thanks for the leg comments again!! :) I haven't been doing jillian as much as I should. But I am planning on trying to do it at least 4-5 times a week. I am definitely noticing arm definition though.

Stacey--Ugh. So sorry about the wisdom teeth. I had a hideous experience. It will get better. Take whatever drugs they gave you..:lovestruc the Vicodin!

Kelly--Hope you are feeling better!:goodvibes

Paula--Woo-hoo for the loss!!!

Lyz--Hope you get some birthday celebration time this weekend!

Liz--So excited for you for the 5k! :goodvibes

Aimee--Is the mechanic guy down in Daytona for bike week??

Ronda--Sounds like the C25K is going well! keep us updated!!

Nancy,Roddy,Kat,LisaZ,Sarah,Steph

As for me, Tracked yesterday and did core stuff. Will probably do more core later. Still a bit sore for me to run or do jillian, but will probably get out for a stroller wog tomorrow, something slow and easy.

I did that happy weight quiz. 169.1. i was thinking 160ish, so it's not too far off.

and someone PLEASE tell me I should not sign up to run a 12k next weekend!!! So tempted though because it is a really popular local race.

Evil has arrived in my office...

Yup - those little buggars known as Girl Scout cookies have finally arrived. I ate a few of my required tagalongs and put the box out for the rest of the office to eat tomorrow when they get here. The other boxes are going to my parents and I am not eating anymore of them. If they weren't so depended on by the girls for financial support, I wouldn't have bought any.

Need some serious strength and willpower right now.

I am looking forward to some quality cardio time on the bike tonight. Haven't done cardio since last Wednesday so it has been a while since I got lost in my thoughts. It should do me some good. Been dealing with crap at work and reading a relationship book and processing that at the same time (BTW - someone want to teach me how to flirt? I apparantly missed that lesson in school based on what I am reading... :rotfl: ) So need some time just to process it all and that is what tonight is about for me.

Hope everyone is enjoying their day. I'll be here resisting those darn evil cookies...

Amy--Just say no. Unless there is a medal involved. Is there a medal? If there is a medal, well, then it's a whole different ball game! :rotfl2:

I had a whole post typed out earlier and lost it. Sigh.

Kelly, sorry you are feeling poorly. And as to the rubbish, was right there with you over the weekend.

Stacey, ow ow ow on the mouth. I had mine out (all 8 of them) when I was 19 and I can tell you that it really sucked the first day or two, but did get better fairly quickly.

Paula, I hear ya on the GS cookies. I bought some for the same reason, but they are definitely the spawn of the devil.

I went to my OB/GYN appt this morning (POKES E!!). Everything looks well, except I got a tetanus shot (ow) and they want me to go get a mole checked out by the dermatologist. Oh, and I am considering Mirena. Anyone have any experience with it (Roddy excluded, of course)??

Erika-Thanks for putting it into perspective! No medal's for slow people like me, although they do give 5 deep age group awards which is pretty good! Still not fast to get those though! :lmao: They do have toddler races, so maybe I will enter Delena.

Kat-I do not have any experience with Mirena, but BFF does and she has had no problems. No TOM's either after the first month or two! And this totally reminds me again to make my appointment. I have no plans to go back on BC anytime soon, but I still need all that other yearly stuff done.

Ok, you are absolved. I have had a Mirena IUD for 4 years now. LOVE it!

I don't have a tom. Period. This is a typical side effect. But it's not guaranteed. Everyone is different. Most of the people I know who do have an IUD, also have no tom. The first 6 months, you suffer alot of break thru bleeding, but after that, light or none at all.

Hehe!! I thought someone here had it but totally couldn't remember. I could have searched for like a year to find it but am too lazy, sorry.

I think my insurance will cover all but $30 of it, so I think it's a no-brainer. Maybe it will make the TOM migraine go away, too.
