LYZ--we need you! Log on already!
I am skipping my two hour gym day. I am just too tired. Plus, I did spin yesterday, and will run tomorrow. That means no weights, but whatever. I'll do weight tomorrow.
This is a good thing! When you are new to working out, you have to listen to your body. Once you are well-entrenched in fit-world, then being tired or sore often means that you NEED to work out.
I did really well last night, out to dinner with the girls. Nick and Emily were at Mets/Phillies, and I went out with my mommy friends and my friend's sister and best friend. I made myself a driver, so I only had one glass of wine, and I had the shrimp cocktail, salad, and tilapia. No dessert.
So, I am off to the Crayola Factory with Nick and Emily. Catch you all later! Back to real life tomorrow.
I'm off to a good start this monday morning. Cross your fingers for me.
I went back to the gym again today. I need to do more weight lifting. The biking has been great, but I'm stuck in a rut here - I KNOW it's because my strength workouts have been basically non-existant for the past 2 months. Time to turn that trend around....
Just back from Easton, PA. The Crayola Factory was fun - they do show you crayons being made but it's basically room after room of crafts for kids. Emily loved it. Nick and I found it tedious after a while, but I think if you're a super crafty parent you wouldn't. We're just not the type that enjoys that kind of intensive kid stuff, kwim? Things that are only for kids. It's one of those things worth doing for kids but that parents only do because they love their kids. Attached is the National Canal Museum, which was small and doable, after 3 hours of crafts. (Yes, 3 hours. Now the tedious part makes sense, right?) They have a FANTASTIC little canal set up, kids take boats and learn how to move the wickets and gates and get their boats through the canal. Super cool.
Sounds fun! But I am like you that way...if I do a kid-thing, it has to be something that is also appealing to adults. Too much all-kid, sticky sweet, cutesy crap makes me wanna hurl.
Then, we didn't want to drive home in rush hour, so we headed to the Phillies AAA stadium in Allentown. The team is called the IronPigs and the stadium is brand new - opened this March. Very nice stadium, we got great seats - 1st base, five rows back. But the funny thing is there are pigs/hogs on everything. And there are people wearing pig noses and pig shirts and it's just a little hilarious. I did not buy a pig nose - I think the popcorn I ate and the way I ate it pretty much said it for me!![]()
I am still alive...
and I miss you guys!!![]()
Yeah - I have missed you...it's nott he same writing stories without you there!
All my best,
Kim
LYZ - we need to talk - i have an idea that is very sneaky...

WW weigh in Thursday - I made a promise to the kids we would be having full meals at the house - home made for the next 3 months - we are not big Rest. eaters - I do noot think that it is healthy for the kids to be eating out all the time on top of expensive - but it is also a great bonding time - the kids get to pick out recipies for the week - they help cook - the other 2 help clean up - they are really good about helping out around the house - or they know they will have a foot somewhere - so no arguing...see...Mr. Rogers neighborhood afterall!![]()

Steph - how you doing today?
Great Job you have more motivation than me!Ok, I am doing good. Watching what I eat with the consequence in mind and I got on the treadmill yesterday. For 30 minutes. 2 TIMES!!! (Don't anybody tell me not to push it. I have to strike while the iron is hot.) And I got on it again already this morning. Please, oh please, exercise gods, make this the mind transition I've been waiting for.
Let us know how you did I dread going to WW this week I know I have gained or at least stayed the same no weight loss here!WW weigh in Thursday - I made a promise to the kids we would be having full meals at the house - home made for the next 3 months - we are not big Rest. eaters - I do noot think that it is healthy for the kids to be eating out all the time on top of expensive - but it is also a great bonding time - the kids get to pick out recipies for the week - they help cook - the other 2 help clean up - they are really good about helping out around the house - or they know they will have a foot somewhere - so no arguing...see...Mr. Rogers neighborhood afterall!![]()
I am so proud of you Lyz!!! ROCK ON!!!
Also, I totally thought of buying you a tshirt with a hog on it, but I just can't do that to a girlfriend. It's just WRONG to give someone a tshirt with a pig on it!
Thank you. I agree. I'd not wear a shirt with a hog on it.
Okay, I do not want to run today. I. Do. Not. Want. To. Run. Ever.
But I have to. However, it's fine to exercise at night, right? Because I am so worn out from yesterday I don't have it in me, and if I have to run, I want to at least run for 30 seconds longer than I did before. ARGH. Why did I sign up for this? I must be nuts!
You have my sympathy.
Dawn - I am so in love with the Poly, I would get a Poly tattoo. I think you and Dan should get Poly designed tattoos. How fun would that be? And I totally got the email E forwarded, all on board.![]()
Kat - eating everything in site?! That doesn't sound like you. I think that flu did something to you.

Congrats on all the progress everyone is making.... it is so encouraging to read....
Talk to you all soon,
Paula
You are mistaken... that is very MUCH like me. I just fight it, all the time. Sometimes I lose.
AND YAYAYAY!! I am so proud of you.
I managed to drag myself to the gym at lunch... I am finally getting over this darn cold.
