Good morning everyone.... wakey wakey.....

It is too quiet on this thread today... me no likey...

Anyways - I have good news... despite the events of Sunday night thanks to a certain jerk, I lost 3.5 pounds this week.... I am so freakin happy because it is the first measurable loss in about 6 weeks it seems like...

I feel like I have turned a corner and am ready to take on the task of losing the next 35 pounds....

Hope you all are having a great day!!!

I can't wait to read more but I have to get ready for work maybe I will be on later tonight!

Welcome!!!

UGGHHH!! The drama never ends with your job. Hang in there  . To some degree, I bet you are quite used to dealing with these situations by now. Though the stress must be overwhelming at times. I am glad you got to have some fun even though you had to return to the crapfest afterwards. Be gntle with that muscle pull. Those can take a while to heal.

You know, that is somewhat true. At least this week it is a real issue and not a "user experience" problem.

Also, I do have a great boss and that helps immensely. The hours can get old though... left the house at 7AM to make it to Wilson by 8AM, and didn't get home until after 8PM.

Help I need a hot tub or personal massues my body is killing me:eek: Not only am I trying to get over a head cold that has taken over both ears now, when my family talks it sounds like the character on Charlie Brown WHA WHA WHA.....:rotfl: But I have been working in my out of control raspberrie patch. This garden has got a mind of its own, I swear the long pricky shoots were trying to eat me alive. I have never dug, pulled, racked and transplanted so much in my life. I had to finally quit and take some motrin and eat some supper. Hopefully a good 1/2 day tommorow I will be done with it.. All this work for berries I can just go buy  - They are really good and I do freeze them and make Jam.

So where is everyone this evening? I am going for my walk soon and I will check back when I get home. Hope all is well.

Come to NC... we have a hot tub!!

Glad that you are getting help with your health issues, and hope that this approach works for you!!

My day has been sans internet (was in someone's cube all day), so I am just catching up. Thankfully, the muscle pull seems to be minor, and D's company has yet to make rumoured annoucement. Here's to hoping that tomorrow is better than yesterday/today...

Does anyone out there have an extra TECHNOLOGY GENE that they are willing to share with me?

I am so inept at this crap it's pathetic. DH (major geek- software developer...) downloaded a powerpoint to our network - I can't make it run from my computer and the words he's telling me mean absolutely NOTHING to me! :badpc: Honestly...it's like he's speaking Greek!

Too bad the kids are in bed - they could at least explain it to me in words that I can understand!! :rolleyes1

(sorry for the little outburst - but holy crap am I frustrated! :sad2: )

oooh- it just made a funny sound at me - I think it just finished something! :confused3

Thanks for all the support and well wishes.
I have no idea how y'all keep up with and respond to each person. I am amazed! Tomorrow I will learn how to multi-quote, too tired tonight.
It's so exciting and inspirational to come back and see the weightloss tickers moving, better choices being made, and the determination to be healthier continue.
Thanks for that! Vicki

GAH! Do you ever feel like someone is playing a terrible joke on you? Let see, how much stress can we put stacey under before the wedding day hits. As most of you know, Bruce's grandfather passed away a couple weeks ago. Early this morning I get a phone call, my grandfather is in the hospital, and they aren't sure what the problem is, but they think its his pancreas :guilty:

And JUST to make today suck a little more, i got my AllEars newsletter, and it says that Pirates is going to be closed for rehab the ENTIRE TIME I'M on my honeymoon. WHY ON EARTH CLOSE IT FOR REHAB MID-JUNE, are you SERIOUS!!!

I'm trying not to lose my cool and eat everything in sight!!!!!!

Pirates??? At WDW or DL? pirate: Because we were just at WDW and Pirates has been newly re-habed to add Johnny Depp/Captain Jack Sparrow ?!?! :confused3

Well - it's crunch time for me (no, not Nestle Crunch  ) I'm up to my eyeballs in fabric, patterns, thread everywhere! :scared: Yes, we're in the final stretches of costume making for the high school production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. If you have never seen this show - every scene is a different genre. LOADS of costume changes - and to make things worse - we had some casting changes in the last week (a couple of kids had to drop out for various reasons!) :headache: SO - costumes that we *thought* were finished may indeed need attention.

I'm trying to catch up! But my fam won't let me. They want to eat.....take my computer....talk to me.....they just don't understand how far behind I am!

Tell 'em to go away. You got important business here.

So much has happened here, I'd reply to everyone, but I have no words of wisdom, just :grouphug: Life is hard sometimes and it sure helps to have someone to listen. It amazes me how y'all are here for each other and it all started with a desire to lose weight and get in shape for ourselves!

We really do share quite a bit together. I think you'll find alot of shoulders and alot of fun here.

(Bryan (alot;) ))

I'll condense the last months of my life, you can fill in the rest! SIL passed away on April 16. I've been driving back and forth taking care of 2 families(45 minutes--I hate to drive!) The kids dad wants them, is taking great care of them, a mixed blessing and we have no legal rights...
So I have my life back and I'd like to drop about 45 pounds and look hot!

So, :grouphug: to all

Vicki

45 lbs and HOT. ME TOO!

Good morning everyone.... wakey wakey.....

It is too quiet on this thread today... me no likey...

Goof, I didn't give your 3.5 loss the respect it deserved yesterday. So, this banana's for you, baby,
Boy you guys sure talk fast on here, I don't boot up for a day or so and there are 8 pages of post. I love catching up though.

Daughter Sara was extremely busy with soccer last weekend, they played Friday night 1 game, Sat - 4 games - Sun 2 games. There team took third overall. She was really beat Sunday night. Her traveling team has tournaments this coming up weekend. They are a good group of girls been together for 6 years.

I was able to get some yard work done over the weekend inbetween games and rain. After my paperwork is done I need to get out there and cut my raspberries down today it is actucally a nice day out, just a little chilly.

Both my daughters are going to prom this year one with her boyfriend and the other with a really good friend Treyner ( yes Dawns boy) he had called her last week so they are going with a group and I know they will have a wonderful time. We had to go find jewerly and shoes to complete her dress.

My weight is moving down, I have been walking everyday and I figure after about a month of walking I will move into weights, I need to get my body ready for that. I did see the doctor again yesterday they had some last testings to talk about. She told me besides being pre-diabetic, I have an out of control insulin level. She wanted to put me on some meds that would help get them to normal, but I asked her if she would give me 3 months to try and do it on my own. She agreed, but I have to follow her orders. I must find a diet plan that works for me, but only allow 10- 12 carbs a day, I have to excersise everyday at least 30 mins. She really stressed how important this is, because I could have some serious problems in next few years... O

I told my husband, I alway new I was overweight and way out of control on my bad eating habits, but getting told you have no choice is a tough cookie to swallow...

I really want to make a better effort on getting on line and getting to know each of you better. I feel bad when I don't participate, and I look forward to reading about everyone 's up's and down's in life. I just need to come out and be more open, I sometimes just don't know when to jump in and chat. Ok, sorry I am rambling now.

everyone have a great day... jodi

jodi - sounds like you are on the right track! I'm proud of you. and, I love raspberries.

Sorry about your loss...but peace is her gain...we will listen to your feelings at any time..

Dawn, you are such a thoughful writer.

I was a part time listener and still shocked by this...it is such a wake up call to not poo-poo our health or of those we love...how old was he?

Jodi...I am so glad you are able to get this into your life plan...you deserve to take care of yourself....I am proud of you...

Update...
I was in the hospital last night again...white and red cells in the urineand the catscan showed a cyst now on the right kidney...blood pressure was high which fro me was not normal...I am making an appointment today for the Mayo Clinic...

Good news...I am down to 250.3 as of this morning...followed Jodi's lead and cut out the pop...and I wa not a huge drinker but did have about 1 a day the last few weeks...and I stopped eating the fast food I had been turning back to...:woohoo:

Cyst! Take care! and yaaay about the fast food. It's an addicition.

OK. Did I mention I LOVE raspberries. But they are too expensive in the store. I'm gonna need for you to send me a jar of your jam. K?

When we were Disney Cruising (DH and I, 2005) the best part was the biggest best raspberries I've ever had in my life. YUM-O!

SGirl - Maddi is still sick and I am now too. I think I caught it from you, Saturday night.

We go to the doctor today. The worst part is the fever. I get so hot. And that just pisses me off. I mean, my clothes aren't comfortable anyway, and add alittle heat to the mix and I am RAGING BULL!

believen - Multi-quote - in the lower right corner, beside the (quote) box is a box with ("+) in it. That means multi quote.

As you read down thru, click on the posters ("+) that you want to quote.

When your done, click (reply to thread) in the lower left and all your post selections will show up. You'll then have to sift thru them, but it's easy after a while.

AKASnow - that's what you get for being so talented! PS. sometime, tell me more about your job. That fascinates me. K? Baking=Fun. And Erika doesn't play well with others. Purple belongs to her.:lmao:

Maddi had her Kindergarten Screening yesterday. She was big stuff lemme tell you. She went to do her thing while I filled out paperwork. When she came back, I asked "did you have fun." She was so excited, the only thing she could do to express herself was shake her head yes and throw her arms around me for a big bear hug. I will never forget that hug. :cloud9:

3DK - missing you. Know how you feel. Did you get thru yesterday, finishing the semester?

Kat - hang in there. Hopefully today might be a little lighter. (But probably not. Dang your smartness anyway. See, if you weren't so bright, you wouldn't have all these problems.)

2 more things:

Molli got a 96 on her Whale Presentation.:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

and

on Friday we are getting her hair professionally straightened. I know some of you, like me, have naturally frizzy, curly, untameable hair. Molli and I do. We have, I mean, HAVE to dry our hair with the hairdryer and brush the whole time, (a self given "blow out") to tame it, then, use the flat iron for maximum straightness.

Well...next week she goes to 6th grade conservation camp. And they are not allowed hair acotroments.

I guess it being "conservation camp" and all, gotta put things in perspective. Electric flat irons, being a non-necessity. Blah, blah, blah.

Now, 6th grade is hard enough, but to be running around like a crazy woman, in all the pictures too!, will not help. SO, momma trying to find away around this little blip in the road.

Anywhoo. I thought a few of you might be interested. I will post before and after pics.

(and I am taking her out of school for the day to do it too.::lmao: :rolleyes1 I know. I know. I'm one of "those" mothers.)

I feel your pain on the out of control curly hair... It took me years to understand it and now I have grown to accept it and love it. I first had to accept that fact that my hair should not be longer than my ears if I have any chance at controlling the chaos. This works for me because I hate being a slave to my hair and long hair is not a flattering cut for me. Then I went on a quest for the right products. I used to use the Ouidad line that you can get online. They are great products and my hair just loved them. I had soft bouncy curls that you actually wanted to play with because they looked so inviting. The bad thing is, these are not the cheapest products in the world, so my budget crunching self took off on an odyssey to find the right drug store brand. Right now, I am using the John Freida line (but not the serum as I found it to be too heavy / crunchy for my hair) and it seems to be working well for me. I alternate using his shampoo and a gentle clarifying shampoo from Pantene, but I always use the Freida conditioner. I see that he makes a formula for curly haired folks who like to straighten their locks. I haven't tried this since I don't straighten, but it might be worth a shot. Hope this helps and good luck with the straightening process. I am interested to see and hear how it works out.

Goof

PS - tell Molli congrats on her presentation.... sounds awesome...

this will be long but sweet! Good day to all

This is actually very similar to the Jenny Craig diet I am following. In all, I think I only have between 10 - 12 servings of carbs per day. Once you get used to the idea that carbs are not snacks you should find that this is very doable. Fruits and veggies will be your new best friends. The other thing I do is chose my carbs carefully, so that I am getting all of the yumminess I can. I love a good french bread, so that is my one carb splurge of the week and I plan a piece in to my diet for Sunday brunch.

goof
I have read on JC and I think you are right it is about the same idea. Right now I am just making better choices, but I am sure I will need to follow a plan of some sort down the road.

Imposter complex...that is it EXACTLY!!! I can't wrap my head around the thought that I am running. Grant it, I stll don't like it but I am doing it. When I am down 60 pounds I am going to start running, I think it will boost my metablisim again

YAY for Treyner and your daughter!! What a perfect solution! I bet she is so excited. Oh to be young again... I know thinking back, wait maybe I don't want to think back I remember what my prom date (now my husband)
were up to.:rolleyes1 Well she is safe her and Trey are only good friends.

Sorry to hear your sick, I am like you when sick I want to eat. I just had my tooth worked on and talk about not wanting to eat. DXMAS - welcome to the party. Tell us about yourself. You'll find the membership ceremony isn't too awful bad.:rotfl:

OK. Did I mention I LOVE raspberries. But they are too expensive in the store. I'm gonna need for you to send me a jar of your jam. K?

When we were Disney Cruising (DH and I, 2005) the best part was the biggest best raspberries I've ever had in my life. YUM-O!

Yeah, it's Weird. But we do weird around here. You've been added.

It is horrible.

Brcs - sorry about your grandpa. Too much to handle right now. When is the wedding again?

believen - Multi-quote - in the lower right corner, beside the (quote) box is a box with ("+) in it.

You are always so sweet.

on Friday we are getting her hair professionally straightened.

I always wished I had curly, mine is straight as an arrow.

Stephanie, that is crazy about your family!!! Welcome. You should fit right in.:rotfl: Now. Being a Phlebotomist (I had to copy because I couldn't spell) what hours do you work?

I will. She was proud. Thanks.

And, I know about products. No final solution for me, yet.

Me first. I asked first.

WOO HOO!!! The semester is officially over! Of course, I still have about 1,000 pages of reading and grading to do...:rolleyes1

I pull my kids out of school all the time. I refuse to go to Disney during peak times...so out they come.

WELCOME, Stephanie!

Ok, so truth time...the phlebotomy thing freaks me out more than the dancing bananas! :faint:

Way to go JODI! You are ON IT! :cool1:

Me? I have to forfeit my goddess crown for today. :( We had an end of the academic year pizza party and I ate two HUGE pieces. WHAT was I thinking?!?!? I am so pissed at myself!

On the positive side, I start a new training program tomorrow, so that should be interesting. It is called Extreme Fitness. God help me. It is just the trainer and 6 people only...and apparently it is a KILLER work-out...sort of styled after the biggest loser. Which is good...since nothing else works for me!

LIZ--feeling better yet?

Stacey--sorry about your grandpa! Hang in there! Only a little over a month until the big day! By the way, my invitation hasn't arrived yet! :rotfl2:

DAWN--take care of YOU. I am worried about those kidneys. But I love that your humor is back!

KAT--is today any better?

BRYAN--I know, I am still sad about it.

OMG, you did call me Lyz and I didn't even notice. That is how natural it is to me.

For everyone else, my name is spelled Lyz, from HS and it's a family thing. Like Erica said, you can call me Lyz (DWD) which is different from Liz (SeptemberGirl) and it will be easier to figure out.

Watch out people. She's lost it.

Umm, that would be a big fat no.

Lyz! I like it. Everyone should have a y in their name.

And I saw your just sayin' .

Yeah, and my name is spelled with a k....as long as we are just sayin'...:rotfl2:

Ok, so the purple thing is totally YOUR fault in the first place. When Nancy first stole my purple, I very POLITELY just used green in my next post. And YOU said (with attitude, I might add...), "What's up with the green??? I always associate you with purple."

And thus a monster was born. :rotfl2:

Don't MAKE me go back in the thread....

Sorry your day sucks.

And as for the "y"...omg... a woman I know just named her baby Erika...only she spells is...get this...

Eryckah

UGH!
