In Search of my Body...Not The One I Ate.. #4 "Inspiring Others... 1 Tiara at a Time"

Okay, so I am sort of caught up. Please let me know if I have missed any major news!

Rod- :welcome: to the group!!

Erika- I meant to say something over the weekend and forgot. SO SO cool that your mom is doing the tri with you! Loved the bathroom pics. I love to see how other people decorate. I LOVE the white trim we have in our house.

Kat-That game at the RBC center this weekend is going to be awesome. Make sure you take it all in. and take pics if you can! Love the hair!

Liz-OMG! I totally squealed when I read about your Bruce encounter. My parents are huge fans so I will have to share your story with them. Where did you find a Wii fit??

LisaV--I miss my beer and wine. My favorite box o sangria is on sale at target this week. BUT, not drinking has been good for my running for sure. What I miss most is on the weekend after D goes to bed, DH and I have a few beers, sit outside, just chill out. Some of our best times ever.

Paula--You are SO on right now. Awesome job with the loss!

Lyz-Loved your bathroom pictures! I love the towel thing too.

Nancy-We saw baby goats at the fair yesterday. So cute. Little D loved them. "what's that??" she said. They were all sleeping in a big pile.

Kelly,Amiee,Sunny,LisaPR,LisaZ,Steph,Stacey

6 miles for me today on the TM, about 76 minutes. Would have liked to have been under 72 minutes, but considering I had to walk the last mile since my PF was really hurting, it's not too bad of a time. Also walked for about 1.5 miles at the park this morning. So all in all, I've done about 15 miles since Saturday!! My legs are pretty tired. It feels good though. I think about where I was last year at this time, thinking I might die just walking 2 or 3 miles on the TM and now I am running 6 miles!

Didn't track today, but I ate ok. LOTS AND LOTS of veggies at dinner. I love veggies. We were not able to get to the veg. stand after the fair, but I'll head over there on Wednesday.

Tomorrow, I will track and will do C25K and/or core. Interview is at 2 pm. I had to go to target tonight and get a shirt. Everything I had was too big! I had black pants that I had bought for christmas that were interview appropriate.

I hope everyone is having a good evening.

Still chuckling about Liz's list. Too bad the DIS doesn't have a spreadsheet function! :lmao:

P.S. - I'll apologize now for my over use of commas, run-on sentences and beginning sentences with conjunctions. :rotfl:

As long as you don't start using a ". . ." between your sentences, there won't be any problems!!

I need to post pic's. They are definitely adorable.

'Cuse me? :confused3 Pardon me? :confused3 What's that you just said???

Your "PF was really hurting"? O.k. I have to ask. Why on earth were you wearing FLIP FLOPS :headache: Oh Amy. You silly silly girl. ;) Yeah, they're cute. And easy. But they are a PF sufferers worst nightmare. :scared: and my physical therapists best friend. Those and crocs. She calls them her "job security" :scared1:

Nancy-Once the temp hits 75, the flops just speak to me!! :rotfl2: I guess I shouldn't reveal how many pairs I actually own. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 And I do know better. when I went to the Dr. about it a few years ago, she asked me if I wore flip flops! Now, when I was pregnant, I had NO PF issues, even if I wore flip flops. :confused3

Alright gang, post much???:lmao:

I'm here, raging headache and all. I didn't eat much at all today, so tracking was easy. Paying the price for it now though.

Off to catch up...again.

I can relate. But honestly, if you are starting to have a flair up, you may want to consider other sandals for a while. :sad1: We want you in tip-top shape for that race ya know. We are all living vicariously thru you on this one

I'm here, raging headache and all. I didn't eat much at all today, so tracking was easy. Paying the price for it now though.

I had a wicked headache earlier today :headache: Took a cup of coffee and 2 advil for it to go away.

Checking in with my totals for today.

Food: 28 points. Felt good.

Alcohol: none

Exercise: cardio circuit, 75 minutes. Total 480/2100

Tomorrow is my early day. Headed to bed soon. Have a great night all!

Excedrin Migraine is kicking in! It was hurting to read, but I am back.

So tracking for today:

I didn't eat anything hardly - A sandwich with low carb bread and turkey, low sugar yogurt, a few strawberries (this was it until about 2:45 this afternoon, yikes!). Dinner was shirataki with veggie marinara (tons of veggies because I made it ~ love pulling out single servings from the freezer) and some chicken.

So folks, I deserved the headache. :(

I really am off to catch up this time, lol.

:surfweb: <-- I love this smiley thing. heh

Next post, I'll talk a little about how I lost the weight and how that's been going. Thanks for reading everyone! :)

P.S. - I'll apologize now for my over use of commas, run-on sentences and beginning sentences with conjunctions. :rotfl:

Roddy thanks for sharing some backround info. Aside from placating Lyz, it really does help put this whole journey into perspective for the rest of us.

I was going to call the grammar police on you, but Erika and Nancy threatened me with bodily harm so we'll let you go for now.

Paula, you are amazing. :cheer2: Do you mind me asking what your total loss has been? Seems like you've been dropping right and left lately. SO proud of you.

AND you are getting in people's heads. Embrace the dark side :darth
:

Nancy - I am your interval monitor (said in my best Darth Vader voice - which really isn't that good if you actually heard it).

I am at about 45 pounds lost now. Still don't believe that, but I am taking it and running (and no Erika I am not actually running) with it. I am so far into the dark side that Darth Vader is looking pretty bright right now. :rotfl: Someday, someone will need to explain to me how the heck that happened.

No worries. No grammer police here. Thankfully :scared:

BTW...anyone know what happened to the little "cop" simley? I can't find him! I so totally wanted to use him, and he's MIA. Bet that banana scared him away ;)

See - Nancy took my grammar police away from me...

Nice Job Sarah!!:thumbsup2

Alright gang, post much???:lmao:

I'm here, raging headache and all. I didn't eat much at all today, so tracking was easy. Paying the price for it now though.

Off to catch up...again.

Amiee - take care of yourself. Migraines are never fun. Go get some rest!

OMG I am on a total high right now. My workout was just awesome and really was the thing I needed to get me out of my work funk. My company is cutting back on my total compesation package in response to this sucky economy. My take home pay isn't changing, but some things like vacation time, profit sharing contributions and such are going away for a while. Does it suck, yes, but it is a heck of a lot better than being laid off so I can deal with that. I was pedalling away and realized that life will go on and I just have to keep moving forward (yes Sarah, I still remember that phrase from how many chapters ago) and keep pushing. So that is what I am going to do. Who knew you could find such clarity while sweating your bummocks off?

Oh and for the record, nobody puts TP points in my bathroom for me... :sad2: Of course, I don't have purel dispensers either and I am strangly ok with that. I am loving the backstory behind them though. For J that was a great gift.

The brownies are made. I had one lick off the spoon before I dumped dish soap all over it and it tasted yummy. I am good with only eating that much so crisis averted. I am giving the brownies away tomorrow so no temptation for me. Love that.

I am off to get things ready for the morning. Talk to you all tomorrow.
Paula

LisaPR, Kelly ~ Thank you!

Liz ~ Bruce! Which Bruce?? Lee, Willis, Boxleitner? Still excited for you! :cool1:

E ~ Are you going to give in and visit a Doc yet? Busted pipes, 4 of 'em, you have my sympathy! Hopefully your furnace won't be too bad.

Paula ~ thanks for driving the gloomies away. We had a sunny afternoon! OMG ~ good day for you! Keep it up!

Stephanie ~ Mocha is just adorable! It looks like she loves the snow.

Amy ~ Bacon pics???

Nancy ~ 7 deadly zins? Sounds interesting. Mum, wine and goat cheese

Kat ~ so excited for you. We want details after the game, lol.

Lyz ~ couldn't see your pics, but I love the sleeping with your contractor line. :rotfl:

Speaking of hair -

Amiee - love your cut. It's so clean. Thank you so much for the pic. Loved seeing you. I was biggin' you up this weekend Amiee. Jean was talking about divorce. I was telling her what a survivor you are. More than surviving. Flourishing for where you had to go. And don't friggin' argue about my choice in words. It's the truth. :lovestruc

Thank you so much Lisa! That really means alot to me and I won't argue. :) Oh my gosh, look at you jumping out of your box and marching into that bar.

For anyone needing the stalker count...by 9:45 am she had called 4 times! :scared1:

I can give you some angry caller tips to get the calls to slow down (can't promise a stop to them at this time).

Nancy, Nashville April 21 through April 26 staying at the Hampton Inn off Donelson Pike (chosen WISH hotel by the group going). My family and I are going early as it is our April vacation and the kids get to see Nashville along with ME RUNNING THE COUNTRY MUSIC FULL MARATHON on 4/25. This is my first full and I am sure that I will be so cranked that I will not fully enjoy Nashville, until that afternoon/evening and then I will have to fly out early the next morning!!

There is a large contingent of WISHers going to this but most of them are doing the half marathon. I am looking at a 5:30 to 6 hour finish but secretly hoping for 5 or under.

Oh, Nashville is so much fun!

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for the comments on my droopy pants... its not pretty to look at right now, but a great feeling none the less...

I know you are cold right now, but I would kill for outside temps of 57 degrees right now... It has been too cold for too long right now.

Stay warm - I hear that Erika has the inside line on all things fleece and Nancy has the same for flannel....

Liz - listening to Bruce right now... know where I can find him?

I would take droopy pants over pretty! Kudos again.

Paula

Sucks about your benefits, but I am glad it's not worse. Awesome restraint with the brownies.

I know I am forgetting some peeps, so I will just say :wave2:

Some of you know what this Friday is for me and I just have to share! I always do something extra special to celebrate that day, well, I booked a facial. It's my 1/2 day from work because the 14th is my Saturday to work (it's a 4 hour shift, so it's not bad). Top it off, my family isn't going to know that I am off work, lol. :lmao:

Seriously? Your t.p. is folded in points?

...

You are totally going to ROCK that ice. :woohoo:

that's my biggest fear of DIY hair color. That it won't be right. :scared1: I know it's only hair, and it'll grow out.....but my family is merciless. We feed on the weak around here ya know. I would never EVER hear the end of it! :sad2:

My TP is folding in points after the housekeeper comes. ;)

I hope. We are almost definitely going to lose, as our goalie is not very good and theirs is awesome, plus they are just a better team. I just hope the bleeding isn't too bad.

As long as you don't start using a ". . ." between your sentences, there won't be any problems!!

I actually think what y'all call the dark side, is the light side. It is the side you get to when you learn how to push past all the crap and find the you that has been there all along. I can't express how proud I am of you, Paula. :goodvibes

LisaPR, Kelly ~ Thank you!

Mmmm goat cheese. Wine.

I forgot to check in for the last two days, but for both:
1) At or under 1200, both days. Check
2) Exercise. Sunday, none, today, 60 min hockey. 1/5 for the week. Check
3) Water, 96 oz
4) Alcohol, none.

E, I may decide to take both Wed/Thurs off in prep for the killer weekend. I did 6/7 last week, can I count one for this week to make up for the one I will miss? Plus Sat has 2 games! Will it still count for the challenge?

No worries. No grammer police here. Thankfully :scared:

Checking in...
1. tracked food... check
2. exercise... check
3. drank water... check

WAKEY WAKEY!

Everyone - :wave2:

I did read back, you guys are chatty pattys when Im asleep!

So for my Jack Bauer dinner yesterday I had Corned Beef Hash - it was delightful!

So far today:

Breakfast - Coco pops and skimmed milk
Snack - Salt and Vinegar Snack-A-Jacks

For lunch I am having pasta with passata sauce and a low fat yoghurt!

Water so far - 2 glasses

Have a great day everyone :flower3:

Kelly - are you still in a funk today?:lovestruc

Paula - 1.5!!! Gone, gone, gone! (sorry E, making up for lost time)

Paula,

Of course you are the poster child! YOU ARE A SUCCESS STORY!!!!

Kat, perhaps Lyz can explain what od'ing on Fiber One does to you. Oh, so fun. :rotfl:

I HATE fiber one. It is NOT my friend.

So, two weight loss related things from me:

1. I hate Hostess cakes. Twinkies are never going to tempt me again. There was a single serving one I bought a while ago and ate and it's GROSS. So sad. But good.

Ah, yes. Bittersweet.

2. We bought a Wii Fit. So now I can exercise even easier at home!

How did I not know you had a Wii! I've been wining that I want one. Do you love it? Guitar Hero?

3. I AM doing the 5k. For sure. So now I have a goal.

4. I like numbering things.

5. This is more than two.

6. I like going on and one like this.

7. Time to go have the Wii Fit non-person yell at me.

:lmao: Love your list.

Seriously? Your t.p. is folded in points?

:scared1: I totally missed this! EriKa - you fold your tp in points?:lmao: :rotfl: You really are crazy!

The color is Ben Moore Audubon Russet (which you once called Highway Potato, remember? :lmao: ). But yes, it is somewhat terra cotta-ish.

Highway Potato, how in the world did this name come about? I could see sweet potato. Oh, Audubon Russet. Highway Potato. My mind works so fast sometimes I can't keep up with it! Highway Potato.

And I totally why you had to wait for B to hang the pic before you explained it in a later post. Ha!

Exactly. Are YOU autorized to hang stuff?

And I also assumed that he built the towel cubby! S'ok, J is a woodworker/furniture maker as well, so I will make him do it.

Ok the hand sanitizer mounted on the wall. First, I totally knew that YOU would be the one to comment on that! (I was on the phone with Liz and told her to expect that comment and she was like, "Already done!" Hi lar ious!) So about 2 years ago Kelly was in the hospital--Boston Children's--and seriously, every 12 feet in the hallways there is one of these mounted on the wall. Every. 12. feet. And in her room, which was a private room, there FOUR in that room alone. And J was in heaven! :rotfl2: (For those that don't know, my husband is the ultimate germaphobe.) OMG, whenever he would walk down the hall to get something or ask a nurse something or whatever, I swear he would hit everyone he passed!

So anyway, a month or two later it was Father's Day. And yes, I got him 4 of those wall-mounted things. :lmao: One for each bathroom. And he would love one in the kitchen as well, but we don't have any wall space there to hang one (thankfully). So now it is an inside joke. And an awesome conversation starter when people come over!

That is HI LAR IOUS! And heart warming too. (We are a bit germaphobis too. (Not Purel Level!) The colored towels. They are person specific. I'm navy.)

BTW, I was also waiting for you to comment on the tp roll!

I can't believe I missed it. I was studying the Purel! the trim and the picture behind the john. It was reminisent of a Disney property watercolor, but I am assuming it has something to do with the bigger print across from it and looks asian.

Lyz said exactly what I meant. I totally understand that. I was just wondering.

Oh, and grey? I don't know this color. :lmao:

Thanks for the info! What an awesome loss!

And a man who can talk grammar! Makes me swoon! :rotfl2:

LisaV--awesome victory! I am so super proud of you!

Lyz--you have been running? You didn't think I would let that go, did you? Details. Like now.

You are on a NTKB.

Hamstring...felt much better after resting all day. So I did just a SMALL ride on the bike. To test it out. :rotfl: I only did 13 miles and at a nice and easy pace of 15.5 mph. See? Nice and easy. I am capable. But I am going to go ice it soon and then wrap it tomorrow when I have to do some errands, etc. I am not going to run tomorrow either. I am, however, going to do my first training swim :scared1: .

How is riding on a bike resting!?!?!?

Nancy-We saw baby goats at the fair yesterday. So cute. Little D loved them. "what's that??" she said. They were all sleeping in a big pile.

awwww

Yaay to clothes that are too big!

I love flip flops too. And my feet are so bad. But they are so pretty.

Paula - what a great mindset! And 6 months ago, you'd have been in the fetal position eating the brownines. Now you are biking!!!!

Liz ~ Bruce! Which Bruce?? Lee, Willis, Boxleitner?

:lmao:

Some of you know what this Friday is for me and I just have to share! I always do something extra special to celebrate that day, well, I booked a facial. I am not the challenge czar, but I think a hockey weekend counts as exercise.

I found Pirates Booty last night!!! In my town. I'm so excited.

Ok, off to the dreadmill.

Good Morning! I am going into work on time today instead of early (worked 8:30a to 8p yesterday). I need a breather, lol.

I am having a really bad case of spring fever. Yesterday afternoon it got up in the 60's (once the gloomies left). My car is a mess, but I don't want to wash it yet because the drive way rock was washed out in places. Mud! Yuck!

Well, gotta run. I will quit hitting snooze one of these days.

Have a good day everybody!

Paula - 1.5!!! Gone, gone, gone! (sorry E, making up for lost time)

Whoo hoo.... I am so excited about that....

:lmao: Love your list.

Me too...

How is riding on a bike resting!?!?!?

I was going to ask that question, but you beat me to it...

Yaay to clothes that are too big!

Amy - maybe you and I can start the droopy bummocks jeans as the next fashion fad.

Paula - what a great mindset! And 6 months ago, you'd have been in the fetal position eating the brownines. Now you are biking!!!!

This would have been so true. I think someone else has invaded my body and is forcing me to workout. It is so not me, but I am definitely liking it.

I am not the challenge czar, but I think a hockey weekend counts as exercise.

I agree with that. Oh Challenge czar - can we please give Kat a dispensation?

I found Pirates Booty last night!!! In my town. I'm so excited.

Ok, off to the dreadmill.

Lyz - so happy you are on the dreadmill again.... Enjoy the Pirates Booty...

A little. I start back at WW classes tomorrow though, then I'll be back on track!

Jack Bauer did help with the funk though! :lmao:

Sounds like Kelly is getting ready to turn a corner... Watch out.

Good morning to everyone... Still on a bit of a high from yesterday, but I also haven't really dealt with anyone at work yet, so that could change - who knows.

Have a great day!
Paula
