We are planning a trip in may and are cutting corners on the little things .we are wondering if you are allowed to have a microwave in your room? We are planning on staying at the All stars resort and have a small microwave that would be great for breakfast . pirate:

I ended up NOT taking mine, however, I did call the 407 number and they told me to call the resort directly. The CM asked a manager who said it was okay! This was at the all-star Sports...I would call the resort directly before you go and ask just to make double sure!! I am thinking of taking mine this year (we drive)

The All Stars have a microwave in the food court that is free to use. Since they supply one there I wouldn't bother bringing one. There isn't really any space in an All Star room for a microwave.

They do have them at the food courts but I see it as a big inconvenience that wouldn't be worth the bother (IMHO)--walking distance if you're far from the court and lines waiting to use them. I consider taking mine every day since I've been planning for this next visit!! I know alot of people think the all star rooms are very small but we never felt cramped with the 2 adults, 2 kids, a fridge, a cooler, coffee maker, luggage for 8 nights' stay, etc....like they say..if you're not used to the Ritz!!!! I guess it would all depend how long you're staying, too, if it would be worth lugging it to the room...an 8 day stay it would have come in handy!! We'll stay 5 nights this time so...hmm....

Please don't cook in your room. It leaves food odors in the room. Just like smoking in a room leaves the smoke odor in the room. Be considerate of the guests around you and the next guests in your room.

The CM asked a manager who said it was okay!

And I was told it was not ok..that they supplied them in the foodcourt for those who needed one, or they suggested we rent a home away from home.
I asked again, when there in September, because of the "noise" on these boards about it, and were told they are not set up for cooking and /or cleaning utensils in the rooms.
So as usual at Disney, it depends on who you get. I personally don't want to follow someone cooking in there room (beyond cup a soup, hot cereal, cold food, where you just need water) because I find the food smells in the curtains/carpeting, etc to be offensive. You may love your chili, onions and peppers, etc, but I don't : )

HI,

Do the allstar resorts have refrig. in the room? If not which lowest priced disney resort does?
thanks

I agree with everyone else about not cooking in your room.

Refrigerators can be rented for $10 a day. We always use a cooler with ice and haven't had any problems. The ice is free at the resorts. We packed the food in ziploc bags so it would get wet or soggy.

Didn't want this to turn into a debate.....I told the poster to call because you do get different answers from CMs (the one I spoke to said yes no problem!). And I understand the point about being considerate......but a bowl of microwaveable mac and cheese and a few chick nuggets aren't going to stink up a room! I ate a tuna sandwich in my room every morning the entire 8 days we were there (made it myself from pouched tuna).....a smelly food but didn't have to use a microwave for it but would never consider not eating it!! I think whether the poster decides to take it or not (depending on the CM decision) realizes from the posts here that they should practice common sense...don't bring the kimchee or saurkraut that would obviously leave a long and lingering odor :hyper:

Our whole intention on taking one is to save a little money on breakfast and late night snacks.we don't plan on cooking full meals just small microwave meals for my daughter.( mac and cheese, chicken nuggets those type of fast zap and eat things)It always seems we waste time first thing in the morning looking for something to eat and if we could eat in the room we would save time and $$$$.
