Hello!

We will be @ BCV for Christmas. I am wanting to know about putting a tree in our room and one in my S-I-L's room. Has anyone done this? How much is it or do you recommend bringing our own tree (which would be a hassle)?

Thanks,

If the tree you are considering is artificial, then you'd be right in style! I was at BWV last Christmas, and tons of people had little decorated trees in their rooms, and lots and lots of people decorated their patios with Christmas lights. It's so festive! Have you been to Disney at Christmas before this year? Our most cherished memory from last year is going to the studios on Christmas Eve to see the Osborne Family of lights on the houses over there, and the whole park was pretty well cleared out except for people walking thru looking at the lights, and they had a snow machine on top of the buildings!! It was nearly 70 degrees, so it didn't last long, but it was such a treat for us Michiganians! It still brings tears of joy to my eyes, after a full year. What a wonderful memory for us!

We go to WDW the first week of December, when all the Christmas decorations are up, and this past year (our first as members) we did bring a small (2 ft maybe?) fiberoptic Christmas tree. I suggested to DH that maybe we shouldn't bring it this year, what with all the other "stuff" we manage to bring...thought he was going to faint. It was very nice to have it in the LR though, I have to admit. I personally wouldn't bring a bigger tree, and I don't know anything about getting a tree in Orlando or from Disney, altho I have heard it's expensive. (surprise surprise!! ;) ) But I do think I'd want to do something more than we do, if we were actually there on Christmas day.

We also brought Christmas lights and put them around the LR window (used suction cup hooks)...we were at the BWV with a view of the canal, and it was fun to be able to easily find our room from the Swan/Dolphin bridge and to sit on the balcony surrounded by lights. :) We put up Christmas clings too (Disney, of course) on the sliding glass doors.

Not much of a help, I guess...but have an awesome WDW Christmas!

That not only sounds fun, but like a whole other thread!!!

Hello-We spent Christmas at OKW last year and it was wonderful. We bought an artificial tree with the lights attached, we never opened it, we checked it in with our luggage for our flight. We got a lot a comments about it. It was easy to pack back up and I plan to use it as a disney tree this year at home. Have a great trip.

We packed some lights in our luggage and then purchased an artificial tree and ornaments at the local Walgreens.

This was easier than taking the tree with us on the plane, and with airlines getting pretty picky about luggage sizes lately.....

Then we just packed the tree back into its box and mailed it home via USPS.

In past years you could get either a three foot or six foot fully decorated artificial tree from the Disney florist. They were quite expensive but gorgeous. I might recommend, a trip to Walmart for a fake tree and a couple sets of lights, then a visit to the Marketplace for ornaments and some ornaments from home will produce a similar result and this could be more fun.
