Im going in December with my awesome bf. I'd like to maybe order a gift basket or something, but the ones from Disney's Florist are REALLY EXPENSIVE for what you get. Does anyone know if I have something delivered from another company, will Disney set it up in my room? I'm staying at Paradise Pier in a upper level park view room if that makes a difference. Im thinking of having it delivered the day after we arrive too.

Disney will not set it up, but will accept delivery to the bell desk. You could pick it up from them and set it up.

This was not in Disney, but offsite.

On my Birthday, my wonderful wife managed to blow up a dozen balloons and decorate the room while I was in the shower.

You can make an effort without spending a fortune!

This. Part of that high price is the convenience of having Disney do the set-up.

Well im really thinking of like a basket of something. Just a little extra surprise.

Someone outside of Disney can deliver it, as mentioned. You could call the desk and ask them to deliver it to your room and/or have it set up in there prior to check in.

The concierge has a list of outside vendors they like and will give it to you. As Malcon10T said, they don't even put it in your room, you just have it delivered.

My Aunty owns B.Candy http://bcandy.com/ and they do deliveries to Disney properties.

My favorite "secret" celebration is having Mickey Rice Krispies/Cookies and chocolate covered strawberries delivered from Room service for $3-$5/each and a birthday note and pin. You can have it waiting in the room (as long as there is no DND sign on the door) when you arrive or the next day while you're in the parks.

We LOVE doing this, too!

How would I go about setting this up to be in room at arrival? Do I call the hotel directly and work with room service? Or is this also through Disney Celebrations, but just not on their list? I want to do a celebration, but most of their packages include items that we have no use for (they are either very kid centric with toys and whatnot, or have a number of snacks that we can't eat due to allergies). But choc covered strawberries with a bday note and pin would be perfect.

Splurged one year and bought the Christmas tree from Disney for our room. Was really worth the extra money IMO. Walking into the room to see a lit tree with 5 plushes, Mickey ear topper (with out last name on it), and edible decorations was pretty cool. They also left a box with prepaid postage to our address so we did not need to lug it home. If they still offer that, I would totally think about it.

You call the hotel directly and ask for room service. Aside from snacks and treats, they will also deliver balloons!

Call room service directly about 2-3 days before your arrival and order and give your credit card. Then on the day of arrival they charge your cc as sometimes the items change slightly. They will do a Happy Birthday Pin and cute handwritten note with whatever you want on it. Also if you wanted a signed character photo they include that. If we aren't checking in early we just ask for it to be waiting in the room at check-in time, but you can also specify a time. For example if you know you're coming back to the parks to rest - have it delivered at that time.

They actually DO NOT deliver balloons - we are in a helium shortage in California and the only way to get balloons is to purchase them yourself in the park. They WILL add cold milk in a chilled carafe if you like which is yummy to have with the cookies/strawberries.

Good to know! DW's birthday trip was coming up, and I was considering it. Rice crispy treats it is!

Sorry that came off as mean as I re-read it  I'm annoyed that we are in a helium shortage - it seems like such a funny thing. And we used to always get balloons delivered to GCH and I hate having to go into the park, buy them, and bring them back.

Rice Krispies will be great!

No worries. I'm glad for the warning!

Walking into the room to see a lit tree with 55 plushes, Mickey ear topper (with out last name on it), and edible decorations was pretty cool. 55 plushes?!

How much did that cost and how tall was the tree?

I know that the tabletop tree that used to be offered by Disney was over $200 (V.I.N.C.E.N.T., is that correct?). It came with plush ornaments, and the box for shipping. It may have come with a stocking too, or perhaps the stocking was a separate charge. Someone posted about it somewhere in one of my Superthreads. I'll find the post and link it for you. Hopefully the photos in the post are still visible!

Disney has a current tree for a mere $399.95 - http://disneyland.disneyfloralandgifts.com/product/mickey’s+magical+wish+tree.do?sortby=ourPicks&from=fn.

... Still looking for the post with the photo of the tree with plush ornaments, but this tree (with non-plush ornaments) from 3 years ago cost $219 - http://www.disboards.com/threads/disneyland-hotel-christmas-amenities.3021085/.

In this blog you will see one specific version of the Christmas Tree (from Vacation Planning), from 7 years ago -- http://www.mouseplanet.com/8581/Disneyland_Resort_Update. It has a few plush ornaments on it, and was under $200 (not including tax). It was 3 feet tall. I've seen another version with a more 'classic Disney' theme, and plush ornaments to match.
