Was just curious if anyone on here has ever used the in room celebration parties that DLR offers. I have heard they are really cool and a big surprise, we are thinking of doing it and would love to see photos. Thanks a million.:goodvibes

We are doing the Mickey's Grand Gathering (I think that's what it is called) this Friday. After the trip I'll post some pics of it :).

Just thought I would give this a bump and see if anyone else has done this, it sounds pretty neat, I called and spoke to the people that set the stuff up in the room and it sounds amazing, so would love to see some photos.:goodvibes

I took my Great Niece, 8yrs old, last June and we stayed at Disney's Grand Californian. I checked into the different "celebration" packages. They were nice, but not everything in a package was really things that she would want (like the huge Mickey). Of course we love Mickey, but getting him home would of been a problem.

They said anything the park had that they could have in the room upon arrival. Regular cost per item.

I called guest services and they said they could do a package for whatever I wanted.
I asked for a balloon bouquet, Autographed picture of Tinker Bell, Autograph Book and pen and $25 gift card.

They charged me for the the Book, pen and gift card. The balloons and picture were free. I can't remember if they charged a service fee or not. But it was small if they did.

Disney was soooooo nice and helpful.

Everything was arranged in our room and so when we opened our door and entered the first time............ WOW !

My niece was thrilled ! ! !

She also had a card welcoming her to Disney and it was signed from her Disney Pals.

We didnt have a grand gathering, but we did call vacation planning and organise to have a christmas tree and stocking in our room when we arrived and checked in. It was great and we were very happy with the service.

Can't wait to see your photos!!!:goodvibes

We did Mickey's Grand Welcome but don't have any photos in my computer. But I can upload them if anyone would like to see. It was very nice. I wouldn't do it again because I'll more than likely get all the same things again, but I thought it was worth it.

I would totally love to see them if you don't mind, that would be great and much appreciated!!!:goodvibes

From the door of the room. The yellow Mickey feet are actually really thick stickers. I haven't used them here at home but they are definitely really neat!

This Tinkerbell was stuck to the mirror in the room. It lit up and changed colors. It didn't have an on/off switch but it stayed lit the entire week we were there. I didn't even notice it until after a while. I thought it was really cute.

My mom and I with the Mickey. This particular Mickey sells for $100 by itself in the World of Disney store. This picture shows how big the Mickey really is. We tried to pack it in our luggage but obviously it didn't fit. I actually had to take it the the World of Disney and have them ship it to my home here in Florida. It took a little over a week to arrive and it was about $20 total for shipping. I just took him to the counter and paid them and they took care of it. But we honestly didn't expect we would have to do that, but it was much easier for us.

My pictures aren't the best for 2 reasons: 1. I forgot my camera and had to use my phone. 2. We videotaped it first so photos were after my 2 yr old tore through everything. I definitely recommend this! It made our trip that much more special. Our daughter loved loved loved it and it came with so much! It came with a Mickey (talking), Minnie (talking), Pluto, Donald, and Goofy stuffed animal as well as a ton of other items that were surprising to have been included. The tinkerbell shadow and Mickey footprints were fantastic. It also came with lots of snacks, vinyl figure (we got a pirate), fan/spray thing, light up spin toy, autograph book (signed my Mickey himself) with pen, playing cards (clear that look real spiffy),Mickey gloves, and balloons (15)! My daughter is crazy about balloons and they gave us plenty. Again I apologize for the poor photos, but hopefully this might help give an idea of what it's like. Trust me when I say it is worth it! Especially for Disneyland, since most of the hotels here appear to lack the Disney feel. I'm used to DW with all the themed hotels that just scream Disney. I stayed at the Grand Californian (nice but very subtle with the Disney details) and the Mickey's Grand Gathering really livened the room up and added a lot of color and as some say "Disney magic."

Amazing photos, thank you so much for sharing, can't wait to do this. I would like to try and combine this one with the big Birthday bash one. Hope I can work something out, that would be cool. Thanks again for sharing the photos, a truly amazing thing.:goodvibes
