Has anyone purchased one?
Since this will probably be our last trip for quite awhile, and certainly the last with my daughter before she moves away for college, I wanted this trip to be very special.
We're staying at the SL Club Level at the Grand Floridian, and I was hoping to have the Magical Welcome waiting for us after we got back from Epcot the 1st night.

It has been two years but we did a birthday celebration package from Disney F&G for DS’s 5th birthday. It was really obnoxiously expensive, even for Disney standards, but at the end of the day it was well worth it in our opinion. The package was really well done and very elaborate. They pretty much decorated the whole room and it included lots of little toys/keepsakes, many which we still have around now. Full disclosure, we did get one the upper end packages.

I am not sure if this has changed as I’ve read people having no problem doing these on an arrival day, but when I did it they pretty much refused to schedule it for my arrival day. Has to do with you getting the room, the chance you may change, likely some other logistical reasons, etc. I eventually was able to schedule it for later that evening on my arrival day after we had checked-in/occupied the room, but I remember it being rather difficult. YMMV on this as like I said, I’ve seen other people say it wasn’t a problem at all. :confused3

But to sum it up, we had a great experience with them and I would highly recommend it for something unique/special.

Have fun at GF SL! We were there in April.

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience. It is very expensive and the items that were ordered did not arrive to our room on the date expected. We called to find out where it was and we were told that they brought the package to the hotel and dropped the cake portion so they didn't deliver it. You'd think if they messed something up for a special occasion they'd call and let you know but nope, we had to call them. They promised to deliver a new package the next day but it never arrived. We called again and asked for a refund. We were disappointed in the lack of customer service for the price of the items. I would not order again.

We do them on every trip. And we love them! In fact, I’ve run into a problem for our next trip where we’ve done all of them that might be relevant. Apparently DSS can do custom celebrations...

Anyhow, as I said we love the in room celebrations. They are not cheap but the magic is worth it. On one trip we tried a custom basket and it just wasn’t the same as the in room celebration where they really spend time decorating the room, which makes the surprise so magical for kids.

We have always done it the first night so it’s there when we get back from dinner/Park. No problems there.

Which one(s) are you considering? I might be able to provide specific comments. The halloween one was for our favorite. The Christmas one was so so. The frozen ones were also good. The grand magical welcome was also very cool, that one came with magic ears.

this was our exact experience as well for DD then I think 8 years old? DH surprised me this past trip with one as well and I loved it just as much - although I could've done without the extra snacks as we went to 2 MNSSHP. Made for fun packing times. LOL.

These look interesting. Question though. If you have kids, do they accommodate ALL the kids? Or just 1? Or 2? We have 3 kids and I suspect they only accommodate 2 with the normal package.

I was able to fully customize the Mickeys Big Birthday Celebration with what daughter would and wouldn't like.

Interesting, did you do it thru Disney Floral? Disney Floral told me I had to talk to Signature Services to customize an in room celebration (which is on my list of things to do).

I'm thinking about "Mickey and Minnie's Grand Magical Welcome" and for it to be delivered while were at Epcot the 1st night. We come back to the GF, tired from a day of driving and eating around the world at Epcot to find the surprise waiting.
That's the thought....

I have two kids, so I find out what's in the package and often add on other stuff. Like the Halloween one comes with a huge, giant plush Mickey and I knew only 1 plush would be a problem with my kids. So I added a few other plush stuffed animals.

We got that one in Feb (if I am thinking of the right trip, we took too many trips this year)... but we liked that one a lot. My kids still use the large fabric bins to hold toys... It came with a LOT of food goodies, so we brought snacks to the park each day. The towels are very nice, high quality beach towels (and large). Props to the towels. Unlike some of the other packages that include very low quality pillow cases (which we like a lot, but they have not held up), the towels are thick and nice quality. And then the magic ears, which are pretty cool and will sync to the fireworks. I think we got fireworks glasses too...

Oh, and maybe I should be embarrassed, but I have the banner from that one on the master bedroom door... I love it! Haha.

If you are flying, bring an extra suitcase!
