Still investigating a resale and I had a question.
When you buy, whose name can you place on the ownership papers? Can you include children's names? I just wondered if we buy into SSR... my husband'll be 90 & and I'll be 83 so we die, we'd like our kids to be able to take GC to parks and finish using our points?
Anyone done this?
Anyone have any advice? :confused3

Yes, but you also can leave it to them in a will.

Yes, you can put your children on the deed - but I think they need to be at least 18. :smooth:

DVC contracts can also be inherited by the heirs of your estate, so it's not necessary for the names to be on the deed.

If on the deed they will be considered owners eligible for member perks and discounts and the transfer of ownership would likely be cleaner than needing to go thru probate. However, if there were a divorce or bankruptcy, the ownership would also be included in their assets and subject to any asset division as a result of the settlement.

I'd expect that the positives would outweigh the negatives and including them on the deed when buying the resale would be a good move.

Enjoy!

So can you then add a name to the deed when children are 18???

Yes, I think that's right. We just bought in Jan and wanted to add DD4 on the deed and our guide told us she was too young to be on the deed but to put it in our will.
