Hi all, random question. We're in Orlando at the moment but will need a new suitcase for the journey home next week (whoops, how did that happen). We are carless until next Wednesday but didn't notice any fabulous deals in the outlets on luggage. I did have a look on Amazon to get a case delivered but nothing jumped out. Has anyone bought a case whilst in Orlando maybe from a supermarket or anything that could recommend a brand?

Thank you x

I remember being in Orlando about 10 years ago with family and we needed an extra suitcase to bring stuff home. There were no cheap ones to be found and we ended up with a Samsonite one for about $300. Absolute rip off. If you plan on needing a case, buy in the UK! I can't see the situation being any different now!

Whoops my bad. You are there now :-) Good luck with that!

You could always buy the really cute bright mickey one if the best deal is $300 - I'm sure it wasn't that much!

If I'd known wed be upgrading to PE on the way home Id have bought one!!

We have a few times, you'd think we'd have learnt by now. We tend to get the cheapest we can from Target on 192. I think we probably paid $70 from memory, still worth it for the savings we made.

We take 3 cases with one inside another so technically only two out. We filled that spare one and bought another! Those princess dresses and pillow toy things take up a lot of space!

Tell me about it!! We had to find space for two pillow toys... They ended up just carrying them on the plane :)

Hi ,

We saw some cheap ones in Winn Dixie as you drive out of Disney down Hotel Plaza away from Downtown Disney . Come to the junction with Crossroads opposite & take a left .

Winn Dixie is on the left not too far down .

I think it is on Apopka Vineland Road.

Don't remeber the price , but they were cheap .

Hope this helps:)

We had to buy an extra case last year and went to Walmart and picked up one there. I think it was Jeep brand and about $30 for a cabin sized bag, the larger one was about $60 I think.

We had the same issue a few years back. We bought one in Macys. It wasn't supercheap - about $90 from memory during a fall sale - but it was really light and it has lasted very well indeed and the wheels are excellent, really easy to steer and strong. Goes everywhere with me now, so in value terms it has been great. Sometimes with luggage it is worth paying a bit more if you will get future use out of it.

Sencybil x

Thank you all. Pillow pets ( in the shape of Lotso x 2) plus a whole heap of other 'cant leave Orlando without it' merchandise has led to this! Will look at Winn Dixie, Walmart and Super Target ( although that Super Target shop is dangerous given all the very lovely Disney stuff it sells).

we've bought suitcases on every trip. (we fly to orlando with carry ons only, as we fly indirect, this speeds up the connection process, no waiting at the carousel)

we buy our suitcases at super target, (we bought luggage at both super targets on 192. One is past AKL west of WDW, the other one is east at 192&535)

last november we got a 5 pieces set for $70 ( http://www.target.com/p/luggage-set-5-piece-solid-ebony/-/A-13934731 )

we have also bought suitcases like the large one in the set above for roughly $60

they're not the best, but they're good enough to haul our stuff back home.

One year it wasn't until we were packing the morning of check out that I realised that all our stuff wasn't going to fit! Quick trip to the hotel gift shop and $70 later we had a case! :rotfl:

Turned out quite useful as its a different size to our others and travelled well.

Walmart, we did this also with pillow pets!

We have also been in walmart carpark packing the morning we were leaving :-(

Yup we have also had to make that emergency suitcase purchase. We bought a large hold all from Walgreens one year pretty cheap $39.99 and it was a decent enough size.
Over the years we have bought a selection of bags to get stuff home.
The Disney cases are cute but I would agree probably target or Walmart would be better selection.

As chmurf says, you can pick up a set for $70 in Target, but quality is not great - ok for 1 or 2 trips, then the cases got ripped (although airline paid for new ones!).

I bought a Jeep one from Walmart $50 a couple of years ago, but on returning to the villa with it, wasn't impressed, and returned it for a refund the next day. For around the same price, I think they have better quality ones in TJ Maxx and Ross Dress for Less. Some of these are brand names. There's a Ross and TJ in The Loop shopping centre, and also at Touchstone (top of I-Drive).

The ones they sell in Disney are $169.99 plus tax and don't even have TSA locks. Will hunt around on Wednesday evening for some last minute shopping x
