Meet Doc McS at AK where she has an indoor meet in Rafiki's Planet Watch. There is very little wait @ RPW.

Did the character meal at H&V with reservations at 10:20.

It was great because we were there for the breakfast to lunch buffet rollover and you get to stay for both (if you don't have breakfast eaters in your group, like my DM).

The character interactions were a little longer during this time as well since the restaurant wasn't as busy. We were there an a Monday.

The food isn't anything outstanding...typical buffet along the same quality at Chef Mickey's.

If you don't want to do the breakfast, it's very easy to meet all four of the characters in Animation Courtyard rift at 9:30. We walked in there at 9:35 and we were the first one for Sofia. We met all four characters by 10 (and that's with a 5-10 min break for Pluto)

This was the end of June.

I personally would just wait in line in Animation Courtyard. We've met all three characters in one go (Jake, Sofia, Doc) a few times and never spent more than 30-40 mins tops for all 3 combined. I'm also ambivalent about character dining and would prefer to separate character meets from sitting down for a nice meal.

We have never found the wait to be long at Animation Couryard.

Just as an alternate opinion - we had done Hollywood and Vine 3x in the past and really enjoyed it - great and easy character interaction, they can dance with them, be in a small parade, etc. At the Animation Courtyard the lines for us were so long. We went in June last year. The characters went on break while we were in line as well. It took us almost 1 hour 20 minutes to meet 3 characters and I didn't find the interactions to be as great - for us the lines were the same all day. There also isn't any fancy queue you just stand in a line, which made waiting with kids really rough. Just adding that I don't normally do character meals, in fact, this is our only one. We usually either don't wait for characters or do something with a fast pass.
