I teach fourth grade and the first book I use for reading book clubs is The Cricket in Times Square. The setting is the Times Square subway station. The book mentions subway stations and areas of intrest in NYC. I am trying to get NYC subway system maps that are available to allow the students to follow the route of the main character. (integrating map skills, making the book more meaningful, etc) I would like to use the "real thing" rather than printing a map from the Internet.
I could kick myself for not picking these up when we were there in December. I thought I saw some free pocket size maps anyone can pick up while we were there.
If these maps are free and available in the subway stations and you happen to go by any, could anyone please PM me discuss possibly sending some to me????? (I'll pay for cost of mailing, envelope, etc)
Thanks SO much!
