In Memory of T-shirt

Hi Fellow Disers!

I'm in need of help. I've been looking online and just can't seem to find a perfect t-shirt customized. Maybe you can help.

I want to customize a t-shirt for my dad. I want the white lung cancer ribbon and I want to put his face in that opening at the top of the ribbon and to be able to write on the ribbon. Anyone know where I can do this?. Or have any other ideas or know where I can see other shirts like this or anything? I need lots of help.

Yep That's the ribbon I want. I want to put it on a t shirt.

Would it be best to have his picture on the front or back. I'm thinking the front and have the back have a plain white ribbon that says Lung Cancer Awareness or something. I wish I could create it online but I'm too frustrated with it and sitting here trying to design it myself makes me upset (It's my dad who passed away in october) I want to create the shirt for my family and so my mom and I can wear it on his bday when will be at disney.

DISers really design there own shirts? What about printing/screening?

Do you have a specific picture you wanted to use? Do you have specific writing that you wanted? Can you post the picture that you wanted in the opening?.

Megan...this one is great...now put your dads picture in the opening where you orginally mentioned you wanted to put one and you have an AMAZING shirt!

I like that idea. How do I go about customizing it myself like with the lettering and the picture and what not? Or is there a DIS member willing to help me out with this. Since I'll hopefully be having it printed thru cafepress, the disney thing wouldn't work and I don't need it on there. If someone tells me how to upload a picture, I'll up load the picture I'd like to use.

To upload a picture of your dad:

Set up an account at photobucket.com

Then upload the picture to your photobucket account.

Once the picture is loaded point your mouse at the picture and a list of codes will come up beneath it.

Move your cursor over the IMG Code and right click once to copy it.

Then paste the code into a message and the picture will appear once you have submitted your reply.

Here is an option that I could help you with. I put generic name and date. You could do any color or no color and any wording. If you like it...let me know and I can add your dad's pic to the opening in the ribbon (once you download it) and make any changes you want to wording. Also, if you like it I can change out the ribbon for Mel's...this one is a little blurry in a couple of places. Anyways...just an offer if you like.

That is the picture I'd like to use, just crop to the face and please include the hat. I really like the ribbon kelly used, but the crisp ribbon is best. In the top part of the ribbon, In Loving Memory. Thomas J. McDonough on the one side in the ribbon, and Jun 17, 1954 and if possible a small golf ball or golf club, then Oct 30 2008.

The date part can be written like this

I hope that makes sense. The font type, I don't want cursive. What kind of font did kelly use. I really like that font.


If possible, could you make something I can use for the back. I found a saying

Supporting The Fighters
Admiring The Survivors
Honoring The Taken
and Never Ever Giving Up
HOPE

If the HOPE part could be centered under that last line that would be awesome! I Like having the Fighters, Survivors, Taken, and HOPE in red. The rest in Black would be good, Same Font as Kelly's if possible.

Also off to the side of that saying the white lung cancer ribbon with the words Lung Cancer Awareness written on the... left side that crosses over the right side.. Right were Kelly had Hers! . OR just under that saying woudl be fine to place that ribbon. I trust you guys to do what looks best. You have good taste!

I think that's it. I can't wait to see what it looks like. Thank you so much for helping me with this. I got a picture of it in my head, I just hope I could explain it for you guys. I want it to be perfect my Dad would be so proud of me.

Is this what you want? I think there were two different fonts on the one that you liked and I wasn't sure what they were. I think the top is maybe like an ariel, but I don't recognize the other. This is times new roman. If you look through your font list in word and find one that you like better let me know the name and I can make changes if I can find something else you like better.

on this one I edited the picture a little...the original was very gray...wasn't sure which one you would like

Here it is with the picture lightened...I'm not sure how to remove the shadow caused by the baseball cap.

This is the back and it is more blocked than the original one I posted but it causes the font to be different sizes on each row. Let me know if you like any of these or if I can edit something for you. Just thought I would show you something different.

The one where you lightened the picture looks best because I can see his face better I think. Your so awesome!

Can I ask two things. On the one I want to use for the back Is there anyway you can include a small white ribbon that says lung cancer awareness on it? Would it be possible for me to see both the front side and back side with Miriam or Tahoma font?
I'm in shock. I knew I could get help here and you guys came thru. If I could hug you right now I would.

Oh my gosh, I think I'll be ordering these tomorrow or monday.. when I can see thru my tears!

I didn't have Miriam but I did have Tahoma. I wasn't sure which back that you liked and where you wanted the ribbon. How is the back (second pic below)? I can change it if you want. Just let me know which back and where you want the ribbon. I liked the back better where the lines are all blocked...even though the letter size is different on each line...I like that "honoring the taken" is a little bit bigger than the rest of the lines.

Here is the front. I took out the shadow at the top that was under "in loving memory"...I thought it looked better without it.

When you order them...you will have to make sure they size the picture to fit the t-shirt. I have them sized pretty big right now. Get out a large or x-large t-shirt and ruler and determine what size you want these to be on them and let the company who is going to make them know. I have a local company that screen prints shirts so it is easy to work with them on getting what I want...not sure how online companies do it...
