Our 5 year old drew this, after only having seen the Partners Statue on 2 visits to Disneyland Park - [one time in 2006 when she was 4 years old, and one time in 2007 when she was 5 years old.] She drew this without a photo for reference. She's only in Kindergarten this year. Wow! I'm 38 and I still can't draw like that!:goodvibes It was such a nice drawing and 3-D paper stand-up, I thought I'd share them with you guys.
The best part of all, is that she did this all on her own. (You should see her 'churros' stand, it's the best!) :cutie:

I thought it was a wonderful tribute to Mr. Walt Disney. :lovestruc

That is so cute! My 7 yr old son loves making entire scenes out of paper like that. The only downside of having a great artist like that is storing the stuff, it breaks my sons heart to throw anything out.

Very cute. My middle son absolutely loves to draw - from memory too. The nice thing about drawing, vs. some other, bulkier forms of artistic expression, is that you can save lots of them in a binder, notebook or scrapbook. With that said, my oldest loves to look back on some of the things that he drew in his earlier years (basically anything pre - school days) and just laugh out loud at how "bad" he was - whereas my middle boy just loves to look back and "remember this..." or "remember that..." about each drawing. It's fun for me to look back and see how their drawing skills improve through the years.

That is awesome, your DD is very talented! The Partners Statue must have made a great impact on her - I know that it gives me goosebumps when I am standing next to it! :)

Thanks, everyone, for your nice comments. :) Her work is usually more detailed, but I thought this was nice that she would make this project on her own. She told me she was going to make all of the rides, too, all out of paper, and she was going to make splash mountain, and big thunder mountain railroad. I certainly didn't tell her it couldn't be done... who am I stop her? Mr. Disney proved to us that with dreams, anything is possible. :woohoo:

The funny thing is, she's usually spot on with perspective in her drawings... I found it interesting how large she made Mickey Mouse, in contrast to Walter Disney, in her artwork, when in the statue, Mickey is much shorter than Walter Disney. I guess that's why they call it the Partners Statue, they were both important, [only 1 was once alive, and the other was came to life through the magic of BELIEF.] And how cool that they both live on today! :cheer2: :flower3: :flower3:
