... I just have to say that I am highly impressed. We were there last week and I did alot of Christmas shopping. The night before I left, I dumped bags and boxes galore on the poor lady at the resort and just said "Hey! Can you ship all this and get it to my home for Christmas?"

She said "Sure."

I was skeptical, of course. I just knew they'd lose something. Or, that some packages would arrive late.

Well, got it all today (exactly 4 business days later) and EVERYTHING was accounted for.

The grand total for the express air shipping of my gazillion items?

$25

Compare that to Universal who wanted $80 to get ONE present guaranteed for arrival by Christmas.

You mean she packed them up, addressed them and sent them? Was it just Disney store stuff you bought or other items? What a great service. I am always short of luggage space on way home and better than paying $25 overwieght fee at airport. What resort were you staying at?

we shipped on dec 9th the 275 MVMCP pin set and got it intact and not broken on dec 14 and only paid 15.95. we were told it wouldn't get home til after christmas. when UPS got here it was great. shipping via disney is great. We were staying at Pop Century.

I did the same thing last week at the Dolphin. I had bought lots of souvenirs and Christmas presents and we didn't want to take them on the cruise with us. We asked for some boxes at 9:30 at night. They gave us two copy paper boxes, we packed them full and taped them together (with their tape). They sent them out the next morning for us UPS. It only cost $27 for 5-7 day ground shipping. The Christmas store at Downtown Disney wanted $25 just to ship one item. I was very impressed and it left room in my bags for more treasures!! :)

I'm glad you had a good experience. I must add that I had a different and very difficult experience shipping my souvenirs home. I shipped my items from the Poly in June 2005. The first problem was that they had a new computer system and it ended up taking 4 ladies to figure out how to ring up the shipping, which took almost 1 hour. I am not exaggerating! (Good thing my kids and DH were napping!!)

When I did it I had to have Disney receipts for every item that I was sending. Then they ring those items into their till for some reason and the codes must match. Well, a couple of my items were new and the codes were not in their computer so I could not send them.

I shipped my items for around $15 through UPS and it took over 2 weeks for them to arrive. I shipped my chocolate covered nuts, so they wouldn't melt and be ruined while sitting in the vehicle at the park on our last day. Well, by the time they arrived via UPS they were completely melted and ruined. I imagine they sat in a hot UPS truck instead of my hot rental vehicle!!

I also shipped our specialty pictures that we had taken at EPCOT. After handing those over to the ladies who were a bit confused, I wished I hadn't done that. If those were lost or ruined I could not have replaced them. Fortunately, they did arrive in good shape.

Maybe these procedures have changed now, but I found it to be a very cumbersome and difficult process. I was also not happy with the way the items were packed in the box when they arrived. There was not much packing material used.

We stayed at POFQ December 10 - 18th. To ship items NOT purchased at a Disney store we got a box from the gift shop and packing tape from the conceriage (front desk) I packed up box, taped it shut and it was mailed UPS ground - HUGE box only cost $17! (I had overpacked). This way I had items I had purchased for the Holiday in my suitcase and those items I didn't need arrived home later.

Then we had the gift shop ship Disney merchandise directly to my sister (receipts were needed)

all transactions were seemless.

We loved doing this! Sent home tons of breakable ornaments and MVMCP stuff! We purchased the items Nov 29 and they were on our doorstep by mid Dec. We had made other purchases during the trip that arrived. I couldn't belive it since I had som many small things. I bought tons of pins and jewlery.

One bad thing was that the play castle ($65) never made it here. It was supposed to be from my parents for my DD5. I called WDW and they are sending me one fed x right away. Very nice about it too. Now my DD5 will get it for her birthday in March. Can't wait! :goodvibes

The folks at the WL packed up my wedding gown, crinoline, shoes, and tiara and sent it all back home for me so I didn't have to deal with it. I forget how much it was but I remember it was a bargain and they did an excellent job of packing it all up. (Which couldn't have been easy since it had a cathedral train!) :goodvibes
