We are spending 1 full day at MK, 3 weeks from now. I was going prepared to add a second day at MK, but since I surprised the kids they have both asked about going to AK. So please give me a crash course in planning a day at MK last minute. (We will probably decide the day before or 2 days before we would tour the park).

DDs are 6 and 9. They will not ride Everest or Dinosaur, and probably would pass on ITTBAB. Too short for Primeval Whirl. Shows and characters and seeing animals are most preferred.

We haven't been to AK in 4 years, and certainly not with FP+. How best to balance rope drop, touring in the heat, and use of FP+?

Thanks so much!

You don't really need to be there for rope drop. It's not that big of a park and if you're foregoing riding Everest, you'll have a nice easy time.

Set yourself up FP+'s for Kilimanjaro Safaris and Kali River Rapids - huge time savers. Do Kilimanjaro Safaris as early in the day as possible as that's when the animals are awake and eating before the heat of the day sets in. Beyond those two, it's really up to you which FP+ you want to set for your third. Maybe a show to get better seating? Most people use their third on Everest or Dinosaur, so it's up to you!

While I totally enjoy them, some people don't, so do your research on the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail and the Maharajah Jungle Trek. In my opinion, those are more of the reasons Animal Kingdom exists. You know, to be with the animals...

Go on down to Rafiki's planet watch. The kiddos will like that. And there are characters to meet there. Same with Dinoland. Beyond Dinosaur, there's the Primeval Whirl (may be a little intense?) TriceraTop Spin, and the Boneyard.

Shows wise, with the ages of your children, I would go to Festival of the Lion King, Finding Nemo, and/or Flights of Wonder. All wonderful for adults and children alike.

Hope this helps :thumbsup2
