My wife and I, after some deep analysis of this discussion forum, have decided to purchase a DVC stake... we're trying for a resale of Beach Club with 180 points to start, hoping to add points later.

While Disney World is my favorite - and we average a trip there once every year or two, we do tend to take a lot of trips to Disneyland as well due to the close proximity (we're in Arizona). Just curious what the experience has been in booking a stay at the Grand Californian or other Disneyland resort... it's been a little vague, it appears as though this has no minimum stay? Anyone experience difficulty in booking their stay there?

We're really looking forward to this, we're even hoping to use it on Disney Cruise lines in the future (with more points :)

I have booked at Disneyland hotels using points twice and it was very easy and simple. I even got a room there for several days the week of the 50th anniversary party. I wasn 't sure we were going until a short time before so even though we did not get a room there before the party we did get one the day after and for a couple of days after that. I would make reservations as soon as you are sure you want to go just to be certain however. I think as with WDW you need to book as soon as you can and not count on getting a last minute reservation. There is no minimum stay requirement. We stayed at GCH and DLH the first trip in 2002 and DLH in 2005. I enjoyed DLH more than GCH but maybe it was because the room seemed about the size of a moderate or value at WDW and overlooked the front portico and parking lot acoss the street at GCH while at DLH we had a very large room with twin size daybed as well as the two queen sized beds and a small refrigerator and bar area (not a stocked cube one like at GCH) and overlooked the pool.
I hope to visit again when there is a DVC there.

This is all very helpful to know, I'm glad to hear the process is easy, and it's good to know that we're paying extra for those nights, as it helps to maximize our overall allotment.

Another one here to say it was a piece of cake. I agree - it was far more points for a hotel room than for a 2BR at BCV, but since we knew we were going to DL (had to go to USC's Homecoming to show my DH how REAL universities do it!), then it was definitely worth the expenditure of points.
