In and Out in a Day

Hi all,

Nan ~ Please take care. I saw that nasty tornado in your area yesterday. Give Bud a hug, sounds like he needs it. Stay safe my friend.
You are SO right - we should present Pastor Tess with a bill. She should totally be ashamed in the way she left our Parsonage.

Kat ~ I hope you are feeling better today.

Robin ~ 95% humidity - wow that is a sauna. And that remark about Panama being like vacation - NOT!! :rotfl2: :rolleyes1 I go because of the wonderful people and the work that we are able to do for people who have nothing, but that is where it stops for me. I HATE the saucer size spiders, the huge roaches, snakes, heat, no water, no bed and the list is long. But I do go back each year and for 10 days I can deal with it.

Bethany ~ Have a good time with your brother. Even with no AC. Just pretend you are in Panama with me. ;)

Glynis ~ I have thoroughly enjoyed your mini trip report. You sure had your share of problems but like always you came through with the grace you have.

PIO ~ So glad the project is launched. Has everything been ok with it? Now enjoy the rest of your winter.

Thanks for the well wishes for Doug's Dad. He is healing, slow but sure. Doug is a bit concerned that he isn't bouncing back as fast. But I really do think he will be fine and already I think his coloring is better and he says he feels better.

Today was Dyton's first day in the office and we had so many people in here that I have gotten nothing done. So before I started in, I decided I would catch up with all of you first. I really think he is going to be good for our Church. We shall see - we REALLY need to shake things up here so I hope he is the one to do it.

WFDT ~ Lemon pasta, garlic bread sticks and a green salad.

Make it a great day all.

3 days in.....still a hero! Thanks everyone.

Nancy - hope you booked something.

Kat - Hope you're feeling better now.

Ellen - Hope Doug's dad is getting better and that the new pastor works out.

Ellen- Panama and no bed?????????????????????? Yikes! I am a volunteer but I could not do what you and your family do for others. I am in awe! I hope that your new Pastor is exactly what your Parish needs.
We were lucky in regards to the tornado. My hometown of Windsor Locks did sustain damage, but it was nothing when compared to the one n the 70's, which leveled miles and miles of homes and businesses. That was horrible. We are supposed to escape this weather pattern tomorrow and then be in the middle of a heat wave. I just hope it drys out!

PIO- I knew it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1:cheer2::cheer2:

Ellen - I agree with Nan and am in awe of you as well! You are one very special woman.:goodvibes

PIO - I am so happy the project has been a success!

I am feeling better, thanks to all for asking.:grouphug:

WFD - Sloppy Joe's and sweet potato fries.

Hello all,

Awww..... thanks girls. It really is all about the wonderful people that we have come to love. These people absolutely have nothing but truly are the happiest people I have ever met. I feel blessed that we can help.

PIO ~ Never a doubt in our minds that you were anything but a hero. Good for you!!

Kat ~ So glad you are feeling better. Nothing worse than a summer cold.

Nan ~ You be careful. That weather and storms sound wicked. Heat you can handle.

The weather here has been just about perfect. We are into the low 80's but will drop in the night to the 50's. The wind has been light (a real rarity for Nebraska) and we have had rain off and on. The crops look amazing. I think after last year we so deserve a year like we are having.

I am so excited for tomorrow. The boys are golfing - of course they are - the girls and I and the babies are going to a parade in a small town North of us, then we want to spend the afternoon by the pool. The evening we are having a huge BBQ then fireworks with the whole extended families. I love the 4th of July - I can't wait. I hope you all have a great day also!!

WFDT ~ grilled pork chops, grilled vegetables and a tomato and cucumber salad.

Make it a great day!!

Kat- I am glad you are feeling better!

Ellen- you said it! You all had a terrible year, weatherwise last year, so I hope your perfect weather patter sticks around! have a fun day tomorrow!

Tonight we are taking the girls out to a local creamery for ice cream. I am ready for the mosquitoes- that are as big as warthogs:scared: Tomorrow I am going to my sisters for her picnic. I thnk Buddy is working in the field. I am worried, this is the first one Gail has hosted since Mike died. They always had a huge bash on the 4th, as it is her birthday.

Happy 4th July to everyone.

Ellen- your 4th of July sounds like a Norman Rockwell painting. I hope it's as perfect as it sounds.

Nancy- the mosquitos are extra awful this year.

Kathy- glad you are feeling better.

A few crazy days coming up so I won't be around much. Busy enjoying my family and summer! And a little work but that's fun too.

Just stopping by to wish all of you a safe and happy 4th of July.

God Bless America-----home of the Free because of the Brave!

Good morning ladies!

I hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th! Mine was quiet, Johnny had to work and Kyle was boating with friends. We grilled when Johnny got home and I made a delicious champagne punch with peaches, blueberries and raspberries!

Tonight we're having roast beef po-boys.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi all,

I am totally swamped today. I don't even have time to read back, let alone comment. I promise to catch up soon. Love and hugs to you all.

WFDT ~ grilled hamburgers, pasta vegetable salad and strawberry shortcake.

Make it a great day!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Ours was crazy but great and we now have a teenager! We've been feasting on leftover birthday food, I'm ready to get back to chicken.
Off to get ready for work, have a great day.

Hello! I've had the last two days away from work and am not looking forward to heading back there tomorrow. But I figure after the first hour or so, I'll be right back into the swing of things.

We're having nights/mornings in the 30's here. Starting to get into the really cold part of the year now.

Have a great day all.

I hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th!

Morning Kat! Our 4th was nice. Buddy worked all day but I went to my sister's adn had a great time. I got to see all four of her kids all at the same time...a rarity for sure. It was awesome talking with them.

You just take care of your self, and chat when you get a breather. Try not to get too overwhelmed, it will all be there tomorrow.

.

You are in the 30's and we are havin' a heatwave :rotfl: I woudl love to come to a compromise between us! I can handle heat, but we are experiencing wicked humidity, feels like the tropics :scared:
I was hoping that since your project was over, work would be calming down for you.

Today is an errand day, and hopefully time for Despicable me!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yesterday I went through my desk, and yikes! I am a pack rat!!!!!!!! Marisa and I are heading to Staples to start back to school shopping. They have those excellent sales every week all through the summer so I start early. Our Church has a school back pack drive, so I like to fill a box to share, as well as have plenty of supplies for the kids. Nola starts school, and RYlee preschool, so I fill bags for them as well.

Good morning ladies!

Ellen - I know the feeling of being swamped lately. Don't worry about checking in, we get it!!:goodvibes

Robyn - I don't know whether to say congrats or sending my sympathy on having a teen.:lmao: Seriously, they do grow up way too fast.

PIO - Stay warm!!

Nan - Johnny is the pack rat here. I am just the opposite, I throw too much stuff away!

WFD - Spaghetti & meatballs!

First Off

Happy Birthday to our wonderful Kat

FINALLY I have a bit of time to catch up with all of you. I have really missed you. Things have been so busy around here. Trying to get everything settled for our new Pastor. Plus it is payroll and bill week along with the end of the 2nd quarter. I have worked till 6pm the last 2 nights. I am also getting ready to leave for 10 days to Panama. So anyway I had a bit of time right now, so I thought I would catch up.

Robin ~ Teenagers are a blast. It totally feels funny to not have one in my family.
Thanks for asking about my 4th of July. I don't know about it being Norman Rockwell, but we did have a really nice time. :rotfl:

PIO ~ you are getting cold and we are melting in this heat and humidity. We are never happy are we?

Kat ~ Like I told you yesterday - I hope your day was as special as you are. I am so glad you are back with us. We really missed you!

Nan ~ How is the knee this morning? Was glad you got more popcorn. How dare they laugh at you. :rotfl: :confused3 For those of you who don't know - last night Nan and her kids went to the movies and she fell up the stairs and spilled her popcorn. Love ya lady!!

It is suppose to be a bit cooler here today - only on the 80's. Yesterday it was downright oppressive out. The heat index was 105. I had better get used to it though as down in Panama it is over 100 with 90%+ humidity. I am probably about 50% packed. I really do need to get to it as this weekend Doug and I are watching all 3 grandbabies. And we leave in just a week. I'd better get my move on!!

WFDT ~ Chicken salad stuffed tomatoes, crackers and sweet tea.

Make it a great day!!

Thank y'all for the birthday wishes! I actually had the day from hell at work but I came home to a surprise from Johnny, he knows I've been craving Dungeness crab and he had gotten me some with champagne...I was in heaven.:cloud9:

Ellen - I do admire you so much for the work you do in Panama. You are a very special woman.

:

ANd you deserve to be in Heaven, dear friend! Happy Happy birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ellen- I have one sore knee today. :upsidedow Yup- Marisa was laughing so hard I think she broke something! She could not breathe when she called to tattle to Buddy!

Our weather is crazy here. Another tornado went through our State, this time in the Eastern section. The storm's edges hit Hartford just as Joannie and I were heading home, roads were closed due to flooding, and traffic on Interstate 91 was kind of stopped all the way to the Windsor Locks line.

I have kady this evening. Buddy would nto hear that she was alone for 20 minutes, so he picked her up and they were waiting when I got home. We had Mickey D's for dinner. I love fast food but we almost never have it so it was good!

See you all tomorrow!

Nancy-last time I had fast food was when we drove to disney in February, almost every meal for two days. I'm still good for a while. I do love an egg mcmuffin though, but the closest McDonald's is 40 minutes away. The weather is so crazy, I couldn't believe the tornado warnings again last night.

Kathy- I'm sorry your birthday didn't start out so great but at least it ended well!

Ellen- so far so good with having a teenager. I know there will be bumps along the way, but the older they get the more fun they get. We are very fortunate.

PIO- I'd day the cooler weather sounds great but I've been trying to convince myself I like the heat of summer. It's so hot and humid here and of course no air conditioning.

Not sure on dinner. I'm pretty tired and I need to go grocery shopping so something easy.
