In and Out in a Day

PIO - I'm counting with you too!!!

Nan - Glad to hear the heatwave is over! It's pretty darn hot down here too, but we're just thankful there are no storms brewing out in the Gulf yet. I hate this time of year....

The air is THICK though! We are supposed to get some strong storms this afternoon so I better get off the DIS and back in the ysrd or those screens will still be leaning up agains the car

Thanks for counting down with me. I'm at the end of the build! Physically, my project team has done all that I think we could have possibly done and more. No one on the team can think of anything else we could have done either.

On the systems go live on Sunday morning. Come Monday and into next week, I'll either be hero.....or zero!

Hero I am sure! Congrats on making it through the grind.

The weather here has been so blah lately! Rain almost every day. I am ready for some sunshine!

WFD: some kind of fish, whatever John brings home from the fishmonger, plus sweet peas and tomatoes.

Hello ladies! Been busy as usual. Spent the weekend at my sisters. Had the girls swim meet Saturday morning, had a little nap while the oldest went to her basketball game, then took the two of them out for dinner and a movie as part of the oldest ones birthday present, she turned 13 last weekend. :sad1: My baby is growing up too fast.

Yesterday I took the little one shopping and to lunch. She had wanted to go pick cherries but there were only two pick your own farms near them, one was closed and the other only had blueberries. And unfortunately the one I go to is more than an hour and a half away. They had cherries, blueberries, beets, Swiss chard, raspberries and currants. She would have been in picking heaven, then would have driven her mother crazy wanting to cook and eat all of it. :rotfl:

So.................how's our Hero?????????????????????????
Holy weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wicked weather here! My town is fine, but there were severe storms that went through my hometown. A full blown tornado touched down and it is a mess. Please keep a good thought for those folks in Windsoer Locks/East Windsor CT. Buddy is down by there and he said it is bad.

Looks like we're all pretty busy around here. Remember the days when summers were relaxing!

Nancy- it's windy here but I had know idea there was bad weather. Glad you are fine.

Hope everyone is well, it's quiet here.

Hi everyone,

Sorry I just disappeared for awhile but it was very necessary. I hope you don't mind if I just jump back in.

These last 2 weeks have been so busy, here at the church and at home. I didn't know if I was coming or going. To be truthful I wasn't even home before 8:00 p.m. most nights, let alone lift a pot or pan.

Doug's Dad had emergency heart surgery last Tuesday. His heart rate had dropped dangerously low along with his blood pressure. A difibulator was placed and he is slowly recuperating at home. But that was really scary!!

The Church's garage sale was last Saturday and over $900.00 was made for our trip to Panama. Which by the way we leave for in just 17 short days, and I am no where near ready to go!!

The air conditioning at the Church went on the fritz so that has been a real pain. Trying to get that all settled was stressful. Our Trustees are wonderful, but looked to me to make it all happen.

Let's see besides everything I have told you about: Pastor Tess left last Monday. A couple ladies and I went over to "spruce" the Parsonage up and found a MESS. We worked for 1 1/2 days cleaning things I will NEVER clean again. That mess was not in my job description. Pastor Tess should be ashamed in the way she left the Parsonage. Shame on her. The Bishop arrived on Wednesday - oh my. He was a real honor and a joy to meet, but it was a bit stressful. The new pastor arrived on Friday - Pastor Dyton. I have been so nervous, but I think we are going to get along just fine. Only time will tell but I am not near as nervous as I was. On top of all that we have had a going away dinner, a Mission Share fundraiser, a welcome brunch and 3 funerals. Ethan turned 9 last Sunday and a great day was had by all of us.

So all in all I am pooped!!!! But from here on out things should settle down. At least I hope so!! We leave for Panama in a little over 2 weeks and really that is all I have to concentration on for now.

WFDT ~ Let's see - I really am going to cook tonight.

Grilled rib eyes, twice baked potatoes and a green salad.

Make it a great day!!

I shared some pics on FB from the storm.

I saw your photos! :scared1: I had heard there were some flood warnings in the northeast, but I didn't realize the storms were going to be so severe.

No? I don't remember? :rotfl:

Wow! I don't know where to begin in responding to your post! So much going on for you recently! Glad to hear the surgery went well and that the new pastor seems like someone you'll get along with. I know you've been concerned. How exciting that you'll be going back to Panama so soon. I'm sure you'll get everything done in time.

My brother wanted me to come visit him, so I'm going up to see him in a few weeks. AFTER I booked the travel tickets is when he informs me of the little detail that he does NOT have air conditioning. :scared:

Ellen- I am shocked that Pastor Tess left a disgrace behind! I understand why you all cleaned, but I think she should be presented with a bill. Shameful!

How is Doug's Dad? My goodness! Your family has had way more than one family should shoulder, so please try to take care of yourself, adn maybe slow down a little! ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD..............
Happy Birthday Ethan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Robin-We are fine. Thankfully, even though there were 36 children in that sports dome, there were no injuries. There was flash flooding on some roads in Windsor Locks, looked like rivers. Erica was terrified, and my Superman Son left work but went straight down to check the sump pumps :upsidedow Yup.Buddy's son!

Bud went to check on Joannie, she had gone down stairs with the cats, her biggest complaint was that Buddy's coworker saw her in her jammies. :scared:Teach her not to get dressed :rotfl2:

we are not used to these tornadoes but they seem to be trying to work their way into our little neck of the woods :sad2:

Piglet- Holy HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems like it's been one thing after another with me lately. I've been home sick with a stomach virus all day today...YUK!!!!

Marilyn - The kids grow up way too fast. Enjoy every minute with them!

Nan - My thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the weather. It is down right scary to even turn on the news every day...something else devastating another area.:sad2:

Ellen - I am so sorry to hear about Doug's Dad. I can only imagine how scary that must have been for all of you. I will be praying he has a speedy recovery. Glad to hear the new pastor seems too be someone who will work out!

Bethany - I hope you enjoy your time with your brother!

Piglet- Holy HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He says it's been hot and humid lately. Hopefully it cools off before I get there.

I hope you feel better!

Thanks! I'm going up later this month.

 Sorry it's all so hot for you. Hope it cools down soon.

Marilyn - DS is 13 this year as well. They do grow up fast.

Nancy - Hero! Hero! Hero! :yay: :yay: :yay: (Although I'm trying to make it to the end of the week before jumping around with joy!!!)
Stay SAFE!! That weather sounds awful.

Robin - I'll trade you. It sure isn't quiet around here.

Ellen - I hope Doug's Dad is better. That sounds scary. And shame on Pastor Tess!

Bethany - Enjoy your non AC visit with your bro. Hope it doesn't end up being that hot for you.

Kat - Feel better soon.

PIO- :yay::yay: I'll jumo for you! i am so glad this project worked out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have the potential for more stormy weather today. Buddy is in a trance, and will check teh fields this afternoon. His coworker has several acres and told him that they look like gigantic puddles of mud :sad2:

I told Bud if he has to harrow it under I am taking those SW airlines vouchers that were given to us and booking something for us somewhere SW goes.

Ellen- wow, I don't even no where to start! You've certainly had more than your fair share. Panama is going to feel like a vacation.

Kathy- feel better!

Nancy- the weather is crazy, I hope things work out for buddy. On the news they said the weather conditions are the same as yesterday.

I really should be getting ready for work. Have a great day all.

PIO - I'm jumping too!!:yay:

Nan - I sure hope the weather is better today.

WFD - Chicken Piccata, pasta and stuffed artichokes.

Hoping everyone has a great day.....

Kat and Robin-the weather pattern is in place until at least Thursday, so who knows. Right now the air is at 100% humidity, according to the weather guy. Honestly, it is like living in the tropics.

Nancy- I just looked and we are at 95% humidity. It's not hot but I'm ready to get into my air conditioned office just to get out of the humidity. I remember a few years ago it rained all summer, I hope we're not going to have that again.
