Morning, all! I have a quiet minute before all the kids start clamoring for breakfast, so I'm checking in! We are all doing well. Alan is in the last 2 weeks of school, so we don't really see him. He's busy writing papers and finishing up projects. This summer he'll finish his thesis documentary, and then in September he'll defend it and take his "comps". Then he'll be done!!!
Katie is now registered for Junior year. It was a stressful day, yesterday, trying to get her in all the classes that she needed, and the ones she wanted, too. Somehow, we managed to do it! She's thrilled that she has close friends in all her classes. That should make next year a lot easier!
Jacob continues to impress me. He is in the top 2 percentile of students at his Middle School. He loves his band class the best, and can't wait for summer band camp! He auditions for Jazz Band next week, so we'll see what happens. This from a kid who hadn't picked up a horn in his life until last summer!
The twins are doing much better. We are working with Leslie on ways to reduce her anxiety, and it seems to be helping. With Mary, we are just working on her realizing that she is a girl, and not a boy. She's having a tough time with that. She wants to do what the boys do, but at the rate she is developing, she needs to cut down on that. Sigh. I wasn't expecting her to go through puberty so early!
Timmy is still my main man, these days! He's so cute! We've started counting down the days to
Disneyland, and he is getting so excited! I can't wait to see him there, as this will be his 4th visit, but probable the first one he'll really remember. He's tall enough to go on some of the big kid rides, but not the really intense ones. It should be an interesting trip!
So, that's where we all are! I just try to hold it all together for everyone, while fitting in time for me, too. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't! Luckily it's getting warmer out, so I'm going to try to sneak in some walking time for myself, now!
Dinner tonight will be French dip sandwiches, pickles and green salad.
