In and Out in a Day

Morning! It's really getting close to winter here. My good friend, who lives about an hour and a half away, woke up to snow in her front yard! Luckily, we don't have snow, yet, but our temperatures have taken a dip. We'll probably have snow in our mountains by the end of the week!

Jacob had his first band concert last night. He is in beginning band, and they did so well!! Hard to believe that they are beginning. He was thrilled that the entire family went to hear him. I can't wait for the Christmas concert!

I did all my grocery shopping for the week yesterday, so I really don't have anything to do today. Timmy and I will just hang out here at the house. My neighbor brought over cupcakes last night, so I think I will make some treats to take back to her. I found a recipe for baked pumpkin spice donut holes that look yummy!

Dinner tonight will be baked cream cheese spaghetti! Yum!

Nancy - Thanks; but there is no chance of me not getting frazzled in this last week. Work has just woken up to the fact that I'll be away and there is one week left....and the amount of 'requests' that landed on my desk today to complete before I leave was just obscene. I'm just going to prioritise the ones that I think are urgent and firmly re-set expectations for the rest for AFTER I get back.

Glynis - Snow? Already???

Glynis- Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for Jacob! I used to love teh concerts in school. We had kids in several different grades so we got to hear the progression each level wa making. It was so much fun!
SNOW :dance3:

PIO- just do what you can and let the rest go until you return. I always thought that it was ironic that when you get to go on vacation you are already exhausted just from work that needs to be completed before you leave :confused3

Ladies- if you get a chance, will you stop over to the WFD group? Kimmar's brother has been in surgery and s pretty sick. He and his family could use some prayers. There was gross negligence by a nursing agency and he now needs to have some portion of his foot and leg amputated. Terrible:sad1:

Well my girls are on their way to the wedding! W was frazzled by yesterday and Marisa said she was curled up into a fetal ball. N was worried no one would know where she lived so she made sure she signed the door, R was on fire and tearing up the house. They came to my house while W took care of some last minute things but I am not sure she relaxed at all. As Glynis said, there is snow in some of them parts and the wedding is outdoors so there was a lot of last minute clothing additions to layer under their wedding finery. JIC! W is nothing if not prepared, at least for this shindig!

BBL!

Thanks Nancy. I'm going to do exactly that this trip round. Most times, I'm so tired when I go on holiday that when I do relax, I get sick. This time round, I'm NOT going to run around for work.

Hope we get to see pics of the girls!

Good morning. Well, the snow that my friend reported yesterday, is making its way toward us. Right now there is a fine layer of sleet coming down. Don't know how long it will last, but it should be interesting. The twins have their 2 mile "fun run" today, and we were told it would be happening "rain or shine." Sigh! I'll send along an extra set of clothes for them to wear after the run.

I need to get to the library today, so that trip ought to be interesting! Timmy will love it, but I hate driving in the first storm of the season! People forget how to drive on wet, slick roads. I will definitely be waiting until the morning rush is well and truly over!

Dinner tonight will be a chickpea curry. I'm pretty sure my kids will hate it, but Alan and I really like it, so there!

Nancy - I hope they have a great time at the wedding. I know how frazzled it can make a mom, to have to get everyone ready for something like this!

PIO - You are going to have a great trip! I'm glad you are already prepared to say no to some of the work requests.

I hope everyone on the East Coast stays safe. Been reading about Frankenstorm Sandy.

I'm thinking and praying for y'all.

PIO- I hope I got back in time to wish you safe travels!

Glyis- I would be one of those folks who forgot how to drive in snow :rotfl: Stay safe!

So we are battening down out hatches here in the East. I hope that Sandy fizzles out but will be ready JIC. I think our shoreline will be impacted no matter where the storm decides to turn because of the full moon. I have to just head out early this morning for bread and sandwich meat. i did not want to get it when I shopped the other day and hope I will not regret that decision. Buddy is not at all worried, he is looking forward to sandwiches and chips :thumbsup2

Our masquerade ball is tonight. I am getting frantic, I ordered a mask for Buddy from an Ebay shop. It was shipped the same day i ordered and was supposed to arrive Wednesday. No luck so far. Marisa is checking with the Post office to see where it is. I'll be back a little later!

Great night last night. Our boys got it back together and won! :cheer2:

Now to get ready for the storm. Going out today to do my weekly shopping, I usually go on Sunday night. Also have other errands to run so off to get all that done. See you all later.

Just popping in to say that we arrived home safely last night. I am so worried for all of you that may be affected by Sandy. Prayers for all.:grouphug:

Glynis - stay safe.

Nancy - My trip is in 4 days time. So, you got back in plenty of time. Hope the masquerade ball went well and that your mask arrived in time. Stay safe!!

Marilyn - Hope you got your shopping done and that your all prepped for the storm; JIC.

Kat - I'm worried too. And between you and me, I figure there is 24-hour prayers happening. :guilty:

PIO- just in case things get crazy here, have a wonderful trip!
Buddy's mask is off in post office space somewhere. They have no idea. I had to go to the party shop and buy a cheap Zorro mask. That was all they had and the reason I ordered on in the first place. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Thank you all for the safe wishes. Our friends in Pa, the Ma shore and NJ need them I think. I hope it fizzles out.

Just popping in to wish my fellow east coasters luck for the storm. We lucked out last year, hoping for the best again. Stay safe all. Welcome home Kathy!

:wave2: Welcome Home, Kathy!

I hope all of you in the path of Sandy fare well. :grouphug:

I just saw the storm surge predictions - 6'-11' for NYC and coastal Connecticut. :scared: NYC cannot handle that kind of storm surge in it's lowest-lying areas. There are so many people right up against the water all along the east coast. :scared: I hope she defies prediction and turns away from land, but I know that's pretty unrealistic at this point. :sad2:

I worked 6 days this week. I'm having trouble keeping up with myself. The paint is done and the FLOORS ARE DONE!! :dance3: So excited - just 2 months to the day of when Isaac came! We still need to replace the door and also get up on the roof with the roof cement to "caulk" around a pipe that leaked. At least we can start putting furniture and stuff back where it belongs!

I don't know if I posted it here, but Webshots (the site I use for my photo hosting; similar to Photobucket) is shutting down on Dec 1. I am having to download all my photos from there and now I'm uploading stuff to a new account I made on SmugMug. So far, I'm loving SmugMug. I even have started updating my trip report again now that I've got a new hosting site for my photos, and I have on the agenda to get another update or two done today.

I'll get up before and after photos of the living room and kitchen up onto SmugMug soon (I hope!) and share them with y'all. I am really liking the living room especially. Looks like a whole new place. (Thanks, Isaac??)

Bethany- Can't wait to see pictures.

Nancy- Sorry the mask didn't show up, hope you still had a good time. Last night I went to Provincetown's HallowQueen parade. So much fun, but so inappropriate!

Kathy- How was food and wine?

I can't wait for the end of the week, this is my last week of work until May! I'm like a little kid waiting for summer vacation. Hopefully I'll be able to check in here more often.

Have a great night all, stay safe.

All of you in Sandy's path... please stay safe! This thing looks ugly!!! I'm praying for y'all as hard as I can!

Nothing new here, except I'm fighting a nasty cold. I'm supposed to go and do more costume stuff today, but I don't know if they'll want me around the singers as horrible as I feel! I may just let the other mom take care of today!

Dinner tonight is sweet and sour meatballs over rice. Yummy and comforting!

Popping in to let all the East Coasters on this thread know you're in my prayers. Really hope this "Superstorm" isn't as newsworthy as the media wants it to be!!

DH said he saw a convoy of electric company trucks heading out on the interstate Saturday. I've got fingers crossed that they'll be turned around soon because they're not needed, but like Piglet noted earlier....realistically, somebody's going to get the brunt of this ugliness.

Please stay safe!

Good Morning Ladies,

First things first - CHURCH CONFERENCE IS OVER!!!! Praise the Lord! I worked so hard for weeks that when I got to the office today, I had to think of what I need to do. No worries, Advent is right around the corner. :rotfl2:

TO ALL OF MY FRIENDS IN THE PATH OF SANDY - PLEASE STAY SAFE!!My thoughts and prayers are with you all!!

Nan ~ How frustrating to order something in plenty of time just to have it lost. How was the ball in spite of the mask? I have never been to one. To be truthful I find them kind of scarey........I know that sounds funny but I really do. I can't wait to hear about it.

Merle ~ Yea for the boys. Did you get all the cookies made?

Kat and Sheryl ~ Welcome home!!! I can't wait to hear all about it. I loved your pictures on FB. How did Bob get along?

PIO ~ Safe travels my friend. Enjoy this vacation - you SO deserve it!!

Bethany ~ The house looks amazing. I have loved the pictures.
I can't wait to read the rest of the trip report. Thanks for finishing it.

Glynis ~ Plese start feeling better my friend. Stay home and rest.

Like I said to start this post - Church Conference is finished for another year. Thank goodness.

We took off Friday afternoon and headed into Lincoln. We were at Matthew's apartment when we got off of work. Went down to the Hay Market for a nice relaxing dinner then back to the apt. for some down time. We got up early Sat. (Matthew had to work till noon) went for breakfast than a bit of shopping. When Matthew got off at noon we went for lunch then home to wait for the Girls.

Saturday was the first day of phesant season here in Nebraska so of course Marty and Jay were in the fields. It was hard for Matthew not to be there with them, but for him Husker Football won out. So the girls packed the babies and Ethan up and joined us for the weekend. Doug, Me, Matthew and Ethan went to the game. Darn near froze to death - but we won YEA!

Sunday we all went to Vala's Pumpkin Patch. We had a ball!! Those babies were so good. Not once did they cry or throw a fit. But of course either Poppy or Uncle Matthew was holding them. The girls packed up and headed home. We went back to Lincoln and stayed till 8:30 with Matthew. We had an amazing weekend but alas it went way to fast.

Back to work today.........................!!!

WFDT ~ Ground sirloin burgers, sweet potato fries and apple crisp.

Make it a great day and please stay safe my friends.

Just rest Glynis. You cannot get better if you are overtired.

Thank you! I am afraid that the reinforcements will be needed.CT is but one of the many States that are going to be needing help. I shared photos on FB. The shoreline homes in Old Saybrook are already flooding and the storm is not here yet.

Ellen- Thank goodness you can relax now! I hope that you are the recipoent of fresh game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
