In and Out Burgers:

And Dick’s! I think that is most comparable price and style wise to INO. And, IMHO superior.

But it’s always fun to go to a novel burger spot when traveling.
Oh my husband loves Dicks. We used to live in Seattle. I hated going there because you can't sub anything or make changes. I loathe mustard so I never ordered a burger. Maybe they let you remove stuff now, we moved out of that area 15 years ago. He went a few years ago with a friend but doesn't make any changes to the burger so when I asked him about subs he still had no clue. Said it was still excellent.

You can get a plain burger now for like $.10 less and then order ketchup on the side. But still a pain. I agree!

A pain but it's also how they keep their prices low and the food quick. They have added the plain cheese and plain burger but the deluxe and special still only come as is.

Lines at In N Out are notoriously long, especially during lunch and dinner time.
I'm thinking back to when they opened their first location in Colorado and there was famously a 14-hour line for the drive thru. It actually made international news.

the loneliest in and out in the USA is in Laughlin, Nevada ....keizer oregon still has long lines and why not..has to feed washington and Idaho and canada

Yep, always used to go to them when I was somewhere that had them....now we have a bunch in Denver AND I NEVER GO TO THEM 🤣😂😱
In N Out creates serious FOMO...

The DRIVE-THRU lines are notoriously long. If you park the car and go in it's not bad.

The lines are long both inside and out but move fairly quickly since the menu is limited.

It isn’t FOMO. When I was younger, I disliked that my friends wanted to go to INO all the time, as I preferred Carl’s Jr since you got way more food for your money. As I got older and started eating less, I realized the quality of INO and just how badly CH is lacking. Burger joints that offer similar quality to INO typically charges significantly higher prices.

At least one poster mentioned JITB as being better than INO. JITB literally microwaves much of its menu. Many even microwave the burgers to increase speed + reduce labor costs during slower periods. The quality of JITB is mediocre at best to begin with, then they microwave their food.

Just gotta appreciate quality…

I'm going to suggest it has more to do with the staffing level and the personality of the people that work there. McDonalds seems to take forever these days, and Carl's Jr. always has.

That’s a great point - they have a lot of employees and historically have paid/ treated them very well, which allows them to be selective and set expectations.

There’s a McD’s near me I sometimes stopped at if I was out late. After midnight, they have a limited menu + tons of employees yet it still takes longer to get through the line than a much larger one at INO.

True, but OP needs to be back in DCA at a certain time. I think I would pad it and leave a little earlier. If the lines move quickly and they get back to DCA earlier, they can enjoy the park before having to get in line to select their WOC seats. If the In-N-Out lines are slower, they won't have to stress because they padded the amount of time they allocated for this adventure.

Going to DL in later June with DLD and DLS: both "demand" In and Out, as this doesn't exist where we live. Can I get the how to's, which one, how long do a lot for etc: I'm timing this around out second show WoCDP that I want to get checked in for with the first group to get assigned a good seat. I need some local advice. Thanks all!! P.S coming and going from DCG hotel with no car.

I haven't read the multiple pages of replies yet.

If you don't have access to a car, then Uber or Lyft to the nearest In & Out location. Most In & Out locations in southern CA are busy most of the time. But they're efficient at getting food out the door quickly. So if there's a wait to order and all that, it's not a bad wait.

To be on the safe side, if it was me, I'd allot 2-2.5 hr for getting to & from In & Out plus eating time. That way, you'll have wiggle room in case something comes up.
