Grandma, Many years ago my daughter had cancer, she has been a surviver for 16 years now. Sadly along with the cure she contacted a terrible disease called HepC through blood transfusions. We knew very little about this disease then. Were told not to worry.

We now know that HepC is a deadly disease that robs us of our loved ones. There is hope, a treatment called interfuron. While it not a cure it helps put this disease in remission. Hopefully long enough to see her children grow.

Now I can tell you how angry I am, how depressed I am or how I walk around crying all the time, but I not going too. I going to tell you about two wonderful Grandchildren.

After being on a waiting list for months Lisa finally started treatments 3 weeks ago. The treatments are taking their toll on her. Her and her DH when away for the weekend . She dropped off the children yesterday. They sure have matured in three weeks.

With the hugs and kisses good-bye, Lucy (8) with so much love and caring in her eyes said: "Mama you have a good time, don't worry about us well be fine". I'm a very strong person but I totally lost it, this is a heavy burden for an 8 year old.

In my tears I have to say how very proud I am of my 2 grandchildren. How they have stepped up to comfort and care for their Mother in her time of need.

This brought tears to my eyes. Yes, our children, and grandchildren can really be amazing.

I'm sorry Mamu for what you and your family is going through.

{{{{Hugs}}}} Mama, for you, your family and those little, beautiful grandaughters of yours.

I'm so sorry Mamu. I'll keep you all in my prayers.
I hope you and your Grandchildren find some joy, just being together this weekend.

{{HUGS}} to you and your grandchildren. They sound like they are wonderful children. Yes, you should definately be proud of them.

{{HUGS}} to their mommy.

Mamu, the good news is that the Interferon combination treatment has come a long way since it was first discovered 10 years ago. Many people go into remission now, as opposed to 10 years ago.

I'll keep your family in my prayers.

I don't know what to say, words can't take away the pain that you and your family is going through. Prayers are being sent to you from MA. hoping she will feel better from the treatments. :D

I am so sorry your daughter is going through this. You do have some very precious grandchildren there though {{hugs}} to you all.

Isn't it wonderful how much joy our grandchildren can give us, Mamu? Sounds like yours are definitely a special gift from God. (Mine our too.)
Hugs to you all. I hope your daughter is feeling better.

Tears are also rolling down my cheeck. Sounds as if your grandchildren and daughter have some wonderful qualities that they inherited from Grandma.

Oh Mamu... that just breaks my heart. :( Hugs to you my friend.

I am saying a prayer for you, your daughter and the family that needs comfort and strength right now. It is all I can offer you. Wish it could be more.

As always, Carol, your whole family, Lisa and your hubby, Nello, are in my prayers. Your words are words to smile with. Thanks. :sunny:

You have every right to be proud of the kids. I am praying that the treatment works.

I would have been so proud, Mamu. What a joy your grandchildren must be to you. {{{HUGS}}} and have some fun with your grandbabies :)

Interferon is a hard, hard drug, but I hope it does it's job for your daughter. Tell you daughter to not push herself and just relax and conserve her strength while she's on it. I know that's hard to do when you have children, but she can let the little things go and try to get more rest. It really wore my MIL out, but I know it can have great results. Her kids sound really caring and I know they'll be a big help to her. I'm praying that the interferon works great for your daughter and very quickly.
