In a Pickle! Upgrade to Cat 2 or Stick with Cat 3?

How old are your kids? My DS is 10 and is always up to making buddies to hang out with.

I REALLY need to get caught up on the meet thread.

DD 8, DD 6, DS 4 and DS 3. Your son probably is too cool for a little third grade girl!

We are celebrating our 10th anniversary on 10/19, which is what originally led us to book (nearly 2 years ago!). We invited some of our family to come, and now we actually have a group of 30 people total in 10 staterooms!! We are in several different room categories, but our rooms are all bunched up in the forward, starboard portion of deck 6. Can't wait.

We were able to get Palo brunch, dinner and tea reserved on days/times we wanted, and I thought REAS was worth it for that alone.

Hieatt - Congrats!!!!! We celebrated our 10th anniversary this past Feb at Disney World. It was awesome! Make sure the kiddos are away so you can enjoy that special turndown service. DS thought we had abandoned him. :rofl2: I'm celebrating the big 3-0. Cruising for my birthday is taking the sting out of it. Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

You've got such a huge group going, too. DS thinks girls are still slightly icky. I'm so sorry. I'm seeing the change going from girls being his mortal enemies to being silent about the subject. I'm guessing he'll have a girlfriend before the school year is out. Who knows? He may have one already though he denies it.

Yeah, I stuck with the Cat 3. Maybe the upgrade fairy will pay me a visit but I'm not holding my breath. I just couldn't see spending the difference when it's only the 3 of us and we'd probably only order from Palo once. I hear there's a chance they'd let me order from there in a Cat 3 so I'm going to keep thinking happy thoughts.

VAGal - I did the Pirate Name thing and actually came up with the same name as you LOL We are in a Cat 3 as well and while I am hoping for the upgrade fairy as well, we too decided to not spend the extra $$ for the time we will actually spend in the room. You had me thinking and guess what popped into my head. This could be taken as positive or negative feedback about the difference in the two categories? The charge for my upgrade would pay for an inside stateroom for all of three of us on a 7 night cruise. The upgrade cost is literally the cost of a whole other cruise!

I'm going to be happy no matter what. I'm just I'm going to be on that ship!

That's too funny! They have the Cat 2 still open along with some Cat 3's for my sailing but you never know what will happen between now and then. I'm just not a lucky kind of person so I really don't think I'll win that stateroom upgrade lottery. We're doing the cabana couple's massage on the 2nd day at CC. We're still deciding what we are going to do for our first massage. I LOVED the cabana massage. I'd even considered booking another one for our 1st day at CC but I don't know if we want to take away from our family day. The 2nd day was to be us lounging at Serenity Bay for some alone time. It was the deal we made with DS. I think he can bribed with ice-cream though.

I'm noticing that I'm missing people by a month....with one person it's a week. It would've been cool to sail with some Disers I knew from other circles.
