Impressions after riding Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

My impression every time I walk by the standby line is "why on earth would anyone stand in a 75+ minute line for this?" It's not long enough, high enough, or fast enough for a coaster enthusiast.

That said, we go ahead and get in the line anyway :confused3

I was somewhat disappointed in this ride. I expected more of a thrill. It is cute and a good family ride. I would ride it again but I would not wait a long time to ride it. 30 max

7 Dwarfs Coaster Quality:

If you ask my wife - 7 Dwarfs is closer to Barnstormer.

If you ask me - 7 Dwarfs is closer to Big Thunder.

Of course, with respect to Theming, 7 Dwarfs is far better than Barnstormer.

But here's the beautiful thing - our daughter is now tall enough for Space Mountain (we found out on this trip) and 7 Dwarfs just fell to 4th Place on her Thrill Ride Spectrum (after Splash, Big Thunder & Space Mountains). And she can try Everest her next trip.....which I'm planning now.....

Way to short. The inside part, I thought was cute. I think it's a GREAT ride for the littles.

I probably would FP IF we had already rode the other headliners that day.

We rode it three times - once at rope drop which was still a 30 minute wait and twice with FP. We only did it because we had the FP. I would never stand in line longer than 15-20 minutes for. Cute but way to short of a ride.

We rode BTRR about 7 times and loved it. Especially at night!

I'm glad we did mine ride but way too over hype for it. And stand by lines during thanksgiving week at one point was 120 minutes. Crazy!!!

Just curious, as I have not yet ridden SDMT, is it something that you all can see as being a long-term "classic" like Splash Mountain or Space Mountain?

What I'm asking, I guess, is if it is in that same realm of quality?

We rode twice, it was short! Definitely smooth, really great family coaster/ride. But short! I'm surprised its 2 1/2 minutes long! Loved the mine part. Loved the end.

Trying to really get a 'feel' for what to expect on this ride (from this thread) is somewhat like getting 5 blind people to describe an elephant LOL - all different explanations according to what part they were touching (leg - like a rough tree, etc.).

But being in Fantasyland, from the 'get go' this has been described as a family ride - not a thrill ride for coaster lovers. I am hoping for a neat smooth ride with no jerking - for my sensitive neck. I really do want to ride it as I can no longer ride regular coasters which I used to love.

We rode it twice last week and my impression was that it wasn't worth the hoopla. That said the first time was far more fun both because we didn't know what was coming and because it was at night! It's a lot darker than BTMRR at night and we couldn't see the drops and stuff, so that was exciting. Second ride through was at 1:30pm and I was honestly kind of bored and my knees hurt.

We rode it the first day..... DS9 said it was too slow and too short. Over the next 15 days he never asked about it again.

I really don't understand the popularity and compare it to Under the Sea. Long wait times the first few months and now it's blah......no big deal.

Not at all. I think it will eventually become as mundane yet still popular a fixture as the teacups or Astro. But it was hard for us not to compare the creative genius behind, say, Haunted Mansion to the current efforts. HM still relies on what is now pretty common and even outdated technology but the level of detail and amount of eye candy covering almost every square foot of it just blows away Under the Sea or Seven Dwarfs.

Would my almost 4 year old be okay riding if she is tall enough? She is medium on scare factor

This is from a perspective a NON coaster fan, but I will ride the small stuff. First, VERY smooth compared to Big Thunder, it was a much nicer ride. Not as jerky. In fact, we rode it first before BTM, and now I find BTM quite lacking in comfort. Second, about the same length as Big Thunder as well as the drops and turns are comparable. The new Mine ride has a middle themed portion where the ride slows and you can enjoy the Seven Dwarfs mine theme. I like this, sore of similar idea as Splash Mtn. I would use a FP on it, BUT I realistically would not wait over 20-30 minutes for it. ( of course, there isn't any ride that good IMO anyway :) )

It has become my favorite ride

9 year old hit his head hard at the start. Leg room is not existent and lap bar puts a lot of pressure to the point of being uncomfortable. I'm 5ft 2 inch and 130lbs so not huge and it was uncomfortable for me. 9year old said same about lap bar. One and done ride for us. It was cute but nothing extraordinary.

I have ridden it 4-5 times and just love it. Even waited almost an hour couple times to ride it lol. We are locals and 15min is our max. I am surprised someone mentioned the cars don't rock back and forth. Every time I have been on it they certainly rock. :confused3

I really like it, but it's too short. It so desperately needed a third lift hill with another indoor scene.

We waited once for it at rope drop in August which was fine, but I would never wait for it again.

It's very smooth, way way way better than BTMRR.

There might be a slight jerk as you start and stop but if you keep your head back you shouldn't feel much.
