Impossible to shop for DH

hmmm.....I may have to get a digital frame for my DH since I'm going to be getting one for each of my sons and their fiancees. I also plan on finding a pair of really great Sharks hockey tix for a date in January.

To the OP - are there any CDs that your DH has on album or tape that you could get him? Ebay seems like an easy place to get stuff that's hard to find.

I got my DH the new hardcover John Grisham book, "Cars" DVD (we rented it from Netflix and he said he'd love to add it to our DVD collection), and I've ordered (from Amazon.com) a projection clock/thermometer for the bedroom. He hates having to sit up in bed and turn to see the clock on top of the bed, so has always wanted a projection clock and he's the type who always wants to know what the temperature is outside so I got one that includes that. It should be coming this week.

I also plan to get him a zippered or button-up cardigan sweater that he can wear over a shirt. He is always cold in the evenings when we sit down to watch a movie or something so it would be nice if he had a sweater to put on.

Also getting him a heated dog water dish for his dog.

Not sure if we're going to do stockings or not yet.

I bought DH a Sirius radio & one year subscription for his birthday and I think it is the best gift I ever gave him. He listens to it constantly in his car -- everything from music from various decades to talk radio to stand up comedy to football games. BEST BEST gift ever!

It is the best gift and I was going to do that for my DH this year and he went out on Thanksgiving weekend and did it for himself!!!!!!!!! :furious: I'm angry enough I don't know if he'll get anything!! J/K, I already bought for him.

I got DH one share of Disney stock from oneshare.com last year. He loves it and says we must go to WDW more often so its value increases!

My DH is also hard to shop for. So far I have gotten him an MP4 player(didn't have anything like it and I figured with him getting deployed it would be small enough to go with him)--Golf club covers--White Sox ball cap and John Grishams new book.

The gifts are across the board-just a little smattering of things he has shown an interst in.

Some ideas-Watch, Ipod video, portable speaker system for Ipod, Sirius, Tivo, GPS

My DH is getting a 32" LCD flat panel HDTV for our bedroom. That is kind of for both of us though. I also got him an autographed book from here
http://premierecollectibles.us/index.cfm , some CD's and a DVD set he requested and some shirts. Need to get a few more things including stocking stuffers.

Most men like beer, so how about a kegerator! They can be a little pricey though, but with the holidays, you may catch a good sale. :drinking1

DH and I find it too hard to shop for each other, so we don't! :rotfl: Really, we decided to stop exchanging gifts, and spend our money on the kids and maybe one needed thing for the house. Takes a big load off me (and him)!

we did the same thing years ago when the children were little. They are now 25 and 27 and we continue this tradition. We spent last week at WDW and did a lot of great dining, a dessert party and just about anything we wanted to. I did buy a new ring at the World of Mickey and he was suppose to buy a sword at the MK but in the end didn't. He did have 3 ebay items show up while we were away tho.

The children come with us for the week all expenses paid and we use DVC to stay at the BWV. No shopping, no wrapping and not guessing on sizes it always fits!

Thanks for the suggestions!!

GPS system - his car already has one
tix to sports/concert - not into sports, concert might work
cell phone - his company gets him a flashy one
digital photo frame - we don't take many pictures at all
luggage tags with attitude - really cute!
cuff links/tie bar - never dresses up
pjs - doesn't wear pjs
books - doesn't really read
desk calendar - I got him this last year and it is still sitting unopened
dvd - not really into movies
ticketmaster gc - not a bad idea
starbucks gs - not a bad idea
disney dollars - more of an item for ME
flash drive - company would get it for him if he needed it
star registry - excellent idea! I'm doing that one.
sirius radio - he has satellite radio in his car already
lawn mowing service - already have it
dish/cable channels - already have all of them
ipod - already has TWO (shuffle and nano)
massage - already gets them regularly - he doesn't need a gift certificate for it
clothing - is always a good fallback but I'd like to be more creative
one share of Disney stock - I told DH LAST YEAR that this would be a good gift for me but I guess he forgot to get the message to Santa -
kegerator - he's not a beer man nor much of a drinker at home

Gee, DH sounds spoiled doesn't he? This is probably why it is difficult.

Good suggestions but he already has all the tools he could possibly need or use and there is no way I could pick the "right" electronics.

I've asked him to please, please, please come up with a list for me but he hasn't yet. Sheesh....

Then this year, buy him underwear and socks. If he's surprised that it's not what he wanted or is less than enthusiastic about them, you then have an opening to say "Well, next year when I ask you to make a list, then make one.

So not only can you throw away the holy underwear now he'll make a list for you next year.

Beer (always his favorite), tools, fishing and hunting crap. Especially hand-warming packs.

Flannel shirts, T-shirts, warm socks.

Uncle John's Bathroom Reader.

TV shows on DVD.

That's all I can think up. Ever.

Hmm...how about making a donation to his favorite charity in his name?

Does he ever talk about something from his childhood that he loved? Maybe you could find that or something to do with it to bring back good memories.

My husband has a flashlight - not sure what it's called - that's super bright. It really comes in handy (we used it when we went caving) and it's nice to have for when regular flashlights aren't bright enough. I think it costs about $90 - $100.

What does he do in his spare time? Does he have any hobbies?

My DH is also difficult to buy for. This year he asked for socks, underwear and a donation to a Feed the Elderly Charity.
