We will be renting a house for 2 weeks, and there are some things that I would like to take from home to avoid buying so many groceries. Does anyone know if you can take spices, tea and coffee across the border?

Thanks

Not sure about spices but we always take our own tea bags.... I'm a tetley snob  nothing else will do!!

We also take pre-packaged snack type foods that we know our ds can have as he's allergic to nuts.

Most food is ok to take across the border except there are certain meats and veggies that are not permitted. Check out this site before you goes - it does get updated! For example, chicken was allowed but 3 weeks before we left it was changed to cooked chicken only. Good thing I checked before we left as I planned on loading up the freezer in the camper. I take only bagged apples that state where they are from. Some people have commented on only having luck with Dole bananas.

Have fun!

When we went to Grenada - I brought back a ton of spices and had no problems at all.
Fruit is permitted as long as it is not citrus fruits such as oranges and grapefruits. I heard there is no problems with veggies and it terms of meat - they really frown on beef products.
