Okay this is my first cruise so I need LOTS of help. First off, of course I want to get the best deal. Dreams Unlimited gave me a quote of $3,911.31 for cat. 5, 2 adults & 1 child for 1/4/02 7 nite cruise. Is this a good deal? I am also wary of using agents since I always book my own vacations and get better discounts on everything when I go a la carte.. but I have never cruised before and I don't know all the ins and outs like I do for WDW. I would be most appreciative of any advice from anyone using Dreams and there experience with them or not if it is cheaper some other way. The Disney Cruise site quoted me $4315.31 with the trip insurance and transportation. Thanks...Marilyn :D

I too generally like to book my own WDW and DCL trips. When we booked through local agents, we typically knew much more than they did! But we like DU because they are fellow Disney fanatics who know all the little tricks (we also like the rebates). I think we have something like 12 pending DCL reservation with them through the end of 2003!

Hi Marilyn! Be sure to factor in the Dreams rebate as well, if you haven't already, with your pricing. Your quote should show the rebate amount that will be deducted from your final payment. :D

I'm sorry I didn't use DU for our upcoming cruise. If not for anything but patronizing the sponsor of this site, which I enjoy so much. I can't even cancel my ressie and switch it as there is a $200 penalty or I would. Also, our local newspaper (Newsday) stated DU as an on line TA when someone asked who to use for online booking.

I have used them once for a cruise and once for reservations at the Dolphin Hotel. They are very accessible. If you have any questions all you have to do is email them and they respond back very quickly, usually within an hour. I have another cruise booked through them for next year.

Like Barb I was used to making my own reservations for everything Disney, but I heard so many good things about Dreams that we used them for our 4 day Wonder cruise last May. They were great! When pricing changed by Disney Dreams had it taken care of before I even knew about it! We have also used them for a trip last January to Disneyland and again the service was great. We are using them for an upcoming 7 day cruise next May not only for us, but my in-laws as well.

Dreams is the way to go.

And as Mjasp says they help support this great site as well.

I had booked a ressie throught DU, but then found another agency that was cheaper and switched my plans. They also specialize in disney and have rebates. Check their website www.allseastravel.com All their prices are listed from now through summer 2003. There travel insurance is also cheaper and cover cover preexiting conditions.

for a three day cruise followed by an eight day WDW vacation, and I have booked a 7 day DCL Eastern cruise for SEP 2003 and a 10 day WDW stay for June 2004. In the past I have used various well know travel agencies, clubs, and "bargain" internet travel companies, but the personal service and the genuine interest of the TA's at Dreams Unlimited are far beyond what these other places do. ANY question, room change, transportation dilemma, etc. was answered promptly and efficiently, often within a few minutes of an e-mail to them, and any bargains or price cuts that came up were automatically given to me without me having to ask or research myself. My agents that I have dealt with for my trips (Carole and Donna) have been so helpful in planning the ultimate vacations for my family, that I would recommend them to anyone. All the DU people are Disney fanatics and get right into the fun of planning it all with you. I would never plan another Disney vacation without using Dreams. In fact, we will be using them to book our 2006 Royal Caribbean cruise (they also book non Disney cruises!) when the my DS graduates college, and the DD's graduate high school and eighth grade. Can't wait!!

Marilyn - Just make sure you are comparing apples to apples and not apples to oranges. For example - there are MANY things that factor into the cost of a cruise....party size, age of children, category, length of cruise, air add on....and things that the Disney website may add in automatically are transfers and insurance. So as long as the comparision is equal all the way thru, then it sounds like you did good. DU is a very good advocate for DCL!!
