Important Chicken Wing question. . .

Really??? I have never had a good meal at any of the locations in the three states I've lived.

We always get great food and service there.

And I don't care if boneless wings aren't "real" wings. The real wings are the part we threw away in my youth. Hell, that's how buffalo wings started - was the only part of the chicken she had around.

The original BWW opened just off the OSU campus and was called Buffalo Wild Wings and Weck. We used to go there all the time. I moved to FL and my house was 10 mins from the original Hooters. Had many a beer there!

Ya, this is 100% useless information! :)

To get back onto topic, I'd rather try and lick the bottom of my foot than eat LC wings!

Is that the "Hooters" in Clearwater by the Bay Bridge?

The BEST wing place in our neighborhood closed down early in the summer. They were dry, with just enough kick to make it interesting. You didn't even notice the kick until wing # 2 or 3. They were just amazing!!!

Now I have no idea of where else to go; everyone else seems second best.

Ok forgive me but I am British..I get chicken wings but Buffalo wings? Last time I checked cattle didn't have wings lol... What on Earth.

So keen on a glass of the Irish black stuff Willy? Isn't it just pure velvet. My parents came over from Ireland so we were bottle fed it... Gorgeous. but nothing compares to the glass you get in Ireland. Tastes completely different. Worth the plane ticket to Dublin alone. From Mars.

Buffalo in this case refers to the city of Buffalo in New York - the place the recipe was invented :)

If I remember the story correctly, a woman who ran a pub was visited after hours by her son and his college age friends. The boys were hungry & all she had left was discarded chicken wings. She cooked them, then coated them in a sauce of butter and hot sauce. The boys loved them and the "Buffalo wing" was thus created.

What a neat story. Thank you.

So what would you recommend? I guess Anchor Bar and Duff's gets the publicity.

Strangely enough, Wing Stop isn't bad for a chain.

For me? Duffs all the way. The wings need to be crispy and be sauces, but not saucy.

Despite anything those wings way too small for a big buffalo..

In western NY, spicy deep fried chicken wings are simply called wings. In most of the rest of the US, they're called buffalo wings. The buffalo refers to the hot sauce based sauce. I do believe teriyaki and other types of sauces are near blasphemous, though garlic Parmesan is not bad.

Thank you very good to know. Teriyaki? Oh man. That was like when EPCOT Food and Wine did vegetrerian haggis from Scotland. Don't get me wrong I have no issue with veggie food each to his own but Haggis is Haggis...

That is the point of it! I understand it had to do with American law around not being able to serve cow stomach. Or something like this. Come to Scotland you wimps lol.. Taste the proper deal. It's delightful. Just forget what it is.
