Importance of arriving at opening for SeaWorld?

We're going in April 2013. I have now feel for crowds at Seaworld but we are assuming it is important to arrive at park opening similar to WDW parks - is that correct?

Also, does Seaworld have any fast pass type system?

SeaWorld offers Quick Queue for purchase, or free to onsite hotel guests.

No fastpass but they do have a limited quick-line thing you can buy. I'm not sure what hotels the PP is talking about. I didn't know Sea World had any hotels affiliated with it. Is that something new?? (US/IOA do have 3 hotels affiliated with them with that perk however).

It depends on when you're going and what you like to do. I know we won't do Manta or Kraken, so I'm not too concerned. Two trips ago, we did Sea World at the start of Feb and there was only a 5 minute wait at Manta at about 5pm! Granted, it was super cold that day, but still, I was suprised. It could work in the opposite direction too though.

Our last trip was in the off-off season and there was no reason we needed to be there at rope drop - other than the really great view we got of the dolphin feedings first thing. The trip before was at the start of June, so not the off-season, but the crowds still weren't too bad. I really just felt it when leaving a show since those would be packed.

There are seven properties that are official SeaWorld hotels. Here's the map:

One thing is you can do most of the early animal feedings if those interest you. I have read the animals are not as hungry later in the day. The dolphin feeding in particular is one to get to early. The first one is at 9:30 and you have to do a bit of walking to get to it. People also start lining up for it 20 minutes ahead as they cut the line off at a certain number.
