Hmmm... they are sold here on the east coast as full sun. However, when I googled them, it was mixed part shade and full sun...so you are right. Beats me

I always plant them in part shade because they really don't seem to like too much sun. I don't like to water twice a day, and when I planted them in full sun it seemed that I was watering them all the time.
