What does everybody think?

Chevrolet Impala with National or Dodge Charger with Dollar?

We are Dollar Express and National Emerald Club members.

The Impala is $75.00 cheaper from 11/13 to 11/28.

Thanks for your input.

Does the Charger have the HEMI? If so, "Ka-ka chow, ka-ka pow" - Lightning McQueen.

Fair disclosure, I am a Mopar man and have 2 vehicles with the HEMI (Durango/Magnum). I buy much gas often.

In fairness, I believe the Impala has more legroom in the back seat and I believe Chevy does have an up-engine version also (not that you will be speeding anywhere around DW of course) ;)

I prefer to rent from National due to convenience of the Emerald Aisle (haven't tried Dollar Express yet). 75 bucks is 75 bucks. No more, no less.

Have fun whatever you decide.

Oh Wait.

Are you bringing all 6 people in your signature? They wont all fit in a Charger.

Like Mr.Man said $75 is $75...... that is a whole lot of extra gifts or 37 bottle of water at the theme parks.......but given a chose if the Charger comes with the Hemi (which I really can't see it happening) I would take the Charger....but how many people are going ????

Just because the car website says Impala doesn't mean you will get that when you get to the airport.

I use National Emerald isle everytime I go to MCO and I have seen everything from Impalas, small SUV's, convertibles, Hyudai's, Saturns, PT Cruisers and Dodge Sebring.
In March we got a Toyota Camery from Emerald isle, I booked a midsize.
The midsize picture on the National website shows a Pontiac G6 and I have yet to see one when I go to National at MCO.

Hello, I own a charger, it is the 6 cylinder, which has a 250 in it, it is one of the fastest vehicle in it's class. It is only 90hp short of the Hemi, but the car is a little lighter, over all it moves very fast, more power then you will need, yet still great on gas. Compared to the 6 cylinder mustang, which is only a 225hp engine. The charger will move off the line, but it really fast over 50mph, you could be driving 100mph and feel like your driving only 50mph.
It is also very roomy, the roof is higher then it looks, and you can fit 5 adults in the car with comfort. The trunk space is very large.
We rented the impala in Cali for dis land. I did not care for it much. We then rented the charger, which made my husband want to buy one.
The 250hp charger will save you gas, and they dont rent the Hemi's anyway.
My husbands favorite part of any vacation is renting the car. Good luck.

they tried to palm off a PT Cruiser as a mid-size SUV once to us:rolleyes1

i agree, only once did we see the car featured on the web-site on the aisle & that was years ago - grand am.

mostly saturns

OK - I think I am going to go with the Impala - or Full Size- from National because of space (I need 5 easy) and price $386.00 for 15 days.

The new problem is the 2 car upgrade coupon says go to counter. Can I go to counter in the garage or do I have to go to the counter in the terminal?

Thanks

Unfortunately Budget does seem to give out the full size in the picture. We almost always get the dreaded Taurus (which we dislike!). Always hoping for something different. Last time we actually chose a Hyundai Sonata (sure didn't seem full size to me) because it was that or the Taurus. Right now I've got 2 reservations (1 w/Dollar for a Charger-- not holding my breath, 1 w/Budget for a Taurus--please no!). Budget is cheaper right now and we always go with cheaper even if it means driving a Taurus for the week. :sad2:

We rented from dollar in Jan specifically because DH wanted to try the caliber. We did not get a caliber:rolleyes1 . Plus the hassle of renting will make us never use them again. It is National for us for the convenience.
