We are travelling in March from Glasgow via New York - do we clear immigration in New York or Orlando?
Yes one of the perks of indirect - no queuing in orlando.

when you arrive in New York, you will first go through passport control (separate line for non-US).
Then you will collect your luggage and go through customs.
After you go through customs, you drop your luggage off at the connection desk (just outside customs - just a few steps away), then you go to wherever your next flight is.
Be sure to leave 3 hours between your arrival into New York and your connecting flight to Orlando.
Are you flying into Kennedy airport? What airline are you arriving on? What airline are you continuing on?
Flying into Newark on Continetal - connecting flight also continental - have 1hr 45mins between flights. Hope this will be long enough.

1 hour 45 should be enough but remember that after you exit US customs and put your luggage on the baggage carousel to go to Orlando that you have to go through security in Newark again which can be time consuming. We did these flights from Glasgow in July and they were excellent.
We flew Continental from Edinburgh in October and there was no terminal change, in fact we went back on the same plane
Thank you BethYes, that's what confused me. I looked at the airlines and their terminals at EWR and there was an overlap for CO connections with B and C. I heard the air tran runs very frequently so it won't be a problem. I didn't realise you drop your luggage at the same terminal you arrive at though, so that will be a help. We won't have time to play around with a 90 min connection time, but on our return flight we have 2 1/2 hours so we can maybe fill our bellies then.
