I haven't seen this one yet (which doesn't mean it hasn't been done). We've had threads about what are our favorite rides, what are our favorite past attractions, best parks and the likes, so here's one:

If you were able to, what attraction would you create for Disney? The way Disney is split up, there's a place for just about everything. It can be something related to a Disney character or movie (MK), something technological (EPCOT), animal-related, etc. Or perhaps you have an idea for another country to showcase in the World Showcase, attractions and all. As I said, Disney offers you the chance for anything.

Or perhaps you have on that stumps the parks. Do you have an idea for a new park?

Imagineers, ready, set, go!

Fire Mountain! They could put it between Space Mountain and Toontown Fair. I think they should get rid of Indy Speedway, and make that the "entrance" to Fire Mountain. So you would walk into that "land". Fire Mountain could be dedicated to villians, and they could have a character meet and greet area for them, and if they could put in a couple of other rides in that area would be awesome. That is the only ride I would love to see built.

My idea for a new park would be a rollercoaster park by the name of Disney's Heroes and Villians theme park. The center piece would be the illustrious House of Mouse (where there will be daily showings using the most advanced animatronics (sp?) for the actual show 'house of mouse') and there will be two sides of the park. The Heroes where each rollercoaster/thrill ride will have a theme for a hero. For example (this is redundant) Aladdins' Magic Carpet Roller Coaster and perhaps Nemo's Deep Water Rapids... For the villains you will have even more thrilling rides like Jafar's Treasure Hunt Coaster, and something like Ursula's Wild Spin (she can be in the middle and have tentacles out with pods that riders sit in)...

yeah, and both sides will have character meet and greets, and tons of stores...I have it all in my head really. I just wish there was a way to pitch the idea to Disney. :3dglasses

Yea, isn't that the truth! I've even thought of getting a Disney sketchbook just to draw ideas of rides/parks! By the way, great idea for a park, I love the simplicity, not trying to recreate a MK.

I actually did pitch some of my ideas to a Disney Imaginear.
While visiting the parks in the late 1980s my sil and I left the kids with our DH and rode the bus to FW so we could watch the Electrical Water Pageant.
While on the bus a gentleman started talking to me and explained to me that he was an Imaginear. He told me that they were going to close down 20,000 Leagues but needed ideas about what to do with that area. Little Mermaid was very popular at the time and I told him maybe a Little Mermaid attraction might be nice.
I also told him I thought the wait for Dumbo was too long. I said they needed twice as many Dumbo's (they only had 10 at the time).
I also said it would be nice if they added a ride like (but not) Dumbo in another land at MK.

Viola -- Ariel's Grotto
16 Dumbo Elephants instead of 10
Aladdin's Magic Carpets.

I should have been an imaginear ;)

Yes, why isn't there a House of Mouse? At MK I would like some more Mickey and gang themed rides (no specifics, I'm not that imaginative!!)

Epcot - More worldshowcase! Expand out the back of USA with another set of countries, and this time have some more exciting themed rides!! Countries south of the equator are seriously lacking.

AK - I love this place, excited to see Everest coming. More animals would be great, how about an Australian theme? Or even an American one, how about a river safari ride?

MGM - anything would be good! Not my favorite park. Update to Star Tours. Put in more rides, and not more shows (I don't mind sitting through one or two, but please enough already, I imagine I'm in the minority on this one though!) How about an Incredibles themed ride? The new stunt show is awesome by the way.

Last fall, we had lunch with an Imagineer. The ride idea we talked about was one themed to Monsters, Inc. I think a dark ride with the doors flying all over the place and opening to different scenes would be cool!

Did the Imagineer mention the Monsters, Inc. ride, or did you bring up the subject? They're building a Monsters, Inc. in DCA to replace Superstar Limo. I think it's supposed to open early 2006.

Great topic! :wizard:

Magic Kingdom -
- Rotating retrospective featuring a ride (or attraction) of the past that changes every 2-3 years (I'd love to ride 20,000 Leagues again for nostalgia)
- Space Mountain - update (but save as it is now for the rotating retrospective above...)

EPCOT -
The most dated of the parks (IMHO).
- World Showcase - add more countries, like Russia, India, Brazil or Argentina, etc.
- Test Track - update from the early-mid-90s emphasis that it has currently. This is a perfect showcase for (GM) automotive engineering - I'd love to see a C6 Corvette chassis (a pretty advanced hydroformed process), etc.

Disney/MGM -
- Develop a ride/attraction based on the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise.
- Update "Star Tours" from its current "Return of the Jedi" early-80s state to encompass the entire saga, maybe do a ride featuring major scenes from each movie (ep. 1 - pod race / ep. 2 - asteroid chase; etc.) I think George Lucas *may* have made enough to help out with the costs involved (Just joking - I think)

Animal Kingdom -
Skewed too much to the entertainment end of the "Educational vs. Entertainment" spectrum (again IMHO). What's there that is educational is great, but I'd personally like to see more. I realize this is probably a huge balance decision, but you asked my opinion so I'm giving it...

All that said, I envy the *real* Imagineers, and I think they've done an awesome job. I hope someone is reading this thread, as it has lots of potential.

I'd love to see some more Muppet attractions, and I agree that an update or an additional Lucas/SW ride would be nice.

I'd also love to see a second Boardwalk, but this new one much more like the boardwalk area of the CA park: One that is reminicant of the greaat old pier parks and the old-time amusement parks. Califorina Screamin' is my favorite Disney roller coaster (perhaps favorite overall), and it would be great to have it at WDW. Rock'n'Rollercoater is very similar, but I want it outside!

Considering all the talk about MNSSHP, maybe it could also have (like those old parks) MNSSHaunted House. Kinda like an old fun house or haunted house.

I was thinking about this the other night. I think a land should be added onto Animal Kingdom. Something Arctic, maybe North Western, North America. Something that would be cold all the time. This would also be a great way to compete with Sea World, if they added a couple whale or dolphins. Lots of penguins and some polar bears too!
