Imagineering Field Guide to WDW book

Back in mid-July, a bunch of us ordered the book from Overstock.com. Now, nearly 6 weeks later, they list the available date of 9/30/05!! We'll be in WDW then! I need the book BEFORE we go! So, I checked Amazon.com, and they have the ship date listed as 8/27-8/29~nearly one month earlier! Even though it'll cost a couple bucks more, it will be worth it to get it before we leave. Anyone else have any info on this?

I have had mine on order through Amazon since early June and just sent them a complaint e-mail yesterday because they had never updated my projected delivery date from August 10-12 and had not told me anything about the delay.

They responded with a very nice e-mail saying that the book is on backorder from the publisher and they have been told that it should be delivered to them for shipment sometime early next week. They adjusted my estimated delivery date to August 31. (They also waived my shipping fee and bumped me up to two-day delivery as an apology for not updating me. I wasn't expecting (or asking for) that, but I was pleased with their response.)

According to Barnes and Noble the book is already released.

I ordered mine in late May and have seen the release date change about five times. Since I'm leaving today, I'm hoping that I'll be able to purchase a copy in WDW itself.

Maybe it's dependent upon when you ordered it? (I ordered mine in early June.) Maybe they haven't updated your shipping info? (They hadn't updated mine until I e-mailed them to complain.)

Thanks for that info! After seeing that, I cancelled my order at Amazon (which I place on May 2nd!!!! ) Amazon had a ship date of May 2-September 30......A lot of good that does! I ordered from this site and it was CHEAPER as well! Only $10.00 with S/H! THANK YOU!!! We are going to Disney in October and would love to give this to my DH on the plane down there. It was supposed to be a b-day present back in May!

I had also ordered the Passporter's Treasure Hunts at WDW. No release date on that either so I cancelled it, too. Sent Passporter a direct email asking if they know a release date. I'll let everyone know when I hear back from them. It sounds like a fun book! Kathy

However I'd LOVE to know how they got their hands on that book as I don't think it is officially released.

True, but Overstock.com and Amazon BOTH had that the item was in stock for about a week before reposting a later release date.

Once the release date came, they posted that they had the book, only to come back days later to inform of the new release date.

I just cancelled my overstock order and ordered it via Barnes & Noble. Being that I work in NYC, BN says they have same day shipping in Manhattan, so I am hoping to get it today. If I do, I will let everyone know.

Just checked my tracking status and my order says "In Transit and will be delivered by 7pm". Unfortunately, I have to leave by 6pm, so if I don't get it tonight, it sounds like it will be waiting for me in the morning.

Got an email back from Passporter.....Here's what it said.....
Hi Kathy,
We are hoping to have this book to come out December of this year. Amazon listed these even though we had told them not to since we had no release date. I don't believe that they are still allowing a pre-order on these.

Looks like a good Xmas present for us Disney nuts!!! Kathy
