imagination movers live show...

My DS is 6 now and will turn 7 about a month or so before the show that will be close to our town. He wants to go and see the movers live...do you think he is too old? He does watch the show (not on a daily basis) and I do think the music is really cute and fun. I took him to see playhouse disney live, he had turned 6, and he was one of the oldest kids there. He loves Mickey and Handy Manny, and he enjoyed the show and sang along, but I almost felt out of place. So many kids were 2 or 3. Would you opt for the show or try to convince your child that an indoor water park w/ video game room would be more fun?

Me personally? I'd never try to convince my child to NOT see a musical live show and to play video games instead.

Who cares if he's the oldest one there? If he wants to see it and it's in your budget...go for it!

I think as parents we get all caught up in what our kids "should" be doing instead of what they "want" to do. I know personally I complain all the time about kids growing up to fast and I think some of that stems from this very thing.....we worry about our child being too old for something and push them towards something for older kids. It can be so hard at times. I say definitely take him to see them if he wants to go. My DD, also almost 6, would love to see the Imagination Movers and if it was in the budget and they were here we would go.

We saw the movers two years ago when dd was almost 6 years old, and they were great! This was before they were huge, so she didn't really know the songs but they were so entertaining and they absolutely didn't talk down to the kids. If anything, I would say they're geared toward the 4 - 8 year old crowd in their performances. There were even some inside jokes for parents, although that may be cut out after the success of their show on tv.

I would definitely recommend going, and I don't think your son is too old.

My DS is 10 1/2 and watches them every time he gets a chance. If he wanted to go to the show, and it was in our budget, I'd take him. Who cares how old he is? If he wanted to see the symphony, and everyone else was 60-something, would you feel out of place and not take him? DS loves swing music and my parents took him to that concert too. I think it makes a well-rounded person to have broad interests. If he's not concerned he's too old, why should you be? Just my opinion, but you asked.
