Images to show size of new lands at Hollywood Studios

Yes, but if they were truly excited about having Marvel as part of the parks they could have had a Marvel attraction open in DCA already.
Yes very true. Marvel execs are on record saying they aren't interested much in what happens to the properties in the parks.

Marvel is supposed to be coming to DCA soon.

That's completely unrelated.

What I've noticed since Disney bought marvel is this "general disbelief" that they wouldn't want their property back in Orlando...

They want as much money from the property as possible.

The no strings attached move is to leave everything as is and open marvel giftshops...exactly what they're doing.

There's a bit of an outdated illusion that Disney has a "yearning" to build rides off everything.

I don't think it ever was the case... Definitely not now.

So it's basically...an outdated illusion.

Think how long it was before even a major Disney hit like Little Mermaid got a ride in the parks. Disney can be incredibly slow about stuff like this.

There are a many different factors at play beyond synergy. We tend to think of Disney as a single entity, but even the Parks & Resorts portion is a whole series of fiefdoms with separate budgets and goals. There's a lot of politics involved in getting a project all the way through. Short of a top down mandate from the board of directors nothing is done quickly.

Messy, inefficient and slow, that's big companies for you.

Marvel has until very recently operated as a semi-independent company within Disney essentially entirely run by Perlmutter. That is starting to change, but it's far from integrated.

Exactly. Feige doesn't like perlmutter anyways.

as far as a phase 3 I feel pretty good based on whats being said, with that said it really depends on Star wars and where it goes... if they push into the parking lot then im very confident in a land in the back of the park

I'm telling you...if they are gonna build a 3rd area...it's gonna be a princess land

They won't be able to resist.

frozen here we come!

Frozen is over...the wave has passed.

They'll have a sequel...it will make a bloated take...and then it will fall back in line with all the other girls.

But... It sure seems like they are making a MK LTE...does it not?

And if that's the case...there had to be a "girly land" with a Bibbidi and a bad princess restaurant...

They are creatures of habit

I'll believe it when I see shovels in the ground.

I just hope all these changes at Hollywood Studios don't mess up the hidden Mickey that can be seen from overhead the park. I assume they will, but one can hope.

The wave is passing but I wonder if Disney sees it that way. They tend to jump on things long after the interest has waned.

Plus location is of no importance particularly in the case of Frozen. Hopefully in DHS they'll stick to IP's that fall under the "other" category though.

Wow, there is a TON going on in this thread (of course when it comes to rumors). Somehow I didn't jump in until page 4. To the OP:

14 Acre (Star Wars Land)

This is as good a guess as any, though people have taken the images presented by Disney, and shown that it will likely be much closer to the front of the park, encompassing Echo Lake, Indiana Jones, and Sounds Dangerous buildings. This is only conjecture though, so your guess is as good as any other.

11 Acre Size (Toy Story Land)

I think you are too far south on this. Needs to start around VotLM and then move south from there. Probably won't touch LMA at all.

The phase 3 and 4 tumors come from people who have a proven track record for good information. They will continue to have credibility, at least for me, until I start seeing a pattern of bad information.

To me this depends on your point of view. These "reliable sources" spit out a lot of information over the last two years, and some portion of that information (less than half?) turned out to be correct. My opinion is these folks have enough of an insider view to know what is being worked on, but not enough to know what is ACTUALLY going to be built.

However, it doesn't always take "sources" to figure out what's going on. The arrival of Star Wars land was fait accompli, the only decision was when. So, the talk of budgets and what else is coming in Phase 3 (and maybe Phase 4) is meaningless...but a lot can be gleaned from what Disney SAYS. One of their big talking points was transitioning the park from (paraphrased) "A place where you can experience how movies are made to a place where you can be a part of your favorite movies. Then they present Toy Story Land - which plops you into Andy's back yard - as well as Star Wars Land - which again leads to not a general mish mash of Star Wars themes - but specifically "a space port on a distant planet".

From this - and the fact that the overall space available is larger than the 11 acres + 14 acres - I think it's fair to summarize that they won't really want this overall to be limited to TWO immersive lands. Remember, that's how they are selling this. From that, I think it is a no-brainer to think that a third and probably a fourth land is on the drawing board - I don't need a "reliable" source to convince me of this. Whether they happen or not is REALLY anyone's guess. With the two current planned lands, I am sure that while they have candidates for the third land - anything anyone says is really meaningless. "Zootopia" could come out in March and shock everyone making $2 billion and suddenly they'll say "we gotta have the third land be Zootopia!" and that'll be what it is. Or the world economy could take a dump and they shelve the added lands completely. So, have fun with the rumors, but don't treat anything beyond the current two lands as anything close to gospel. Making up your own favorite theme land is as likely to occur as anything else. (Well - maybe not the "Black Cauldron" land.)

I just hope all these changes at Hollywood Studios don't mess up the hidden Mickey that can be seen from overhead the park. I assume they will, but one can hope.

Well, (a) it was never a complete Mickey, (b) the hat ruined it for years and (c) If echo lake goes, forget about it.
